- This video will walk you through the basics of On Delay & Off Delay Timers, building up our knowledge of the available contacts so we can implement these timers in our Ladder Logic Controls or in our PLC Projects.

Thank you! After a semester of motor controls this was still confusing to me. Now, I am in a PLC course and the teacher still explained it strange now I fully understand it.
Hands down one of the best explanations of time delay relays I've ever seen.
Thank you! Your demonstration and visual guides are like gold nuggets found in a river.
Thank you sir ! You're way better at explaining than my teacher :(
Thanks Pete. This is the BEST explanation I've come across about TON and TOF.
Yes I agree! Thanks Pete!
Why oh why didn't we have a lab like yours and You Tube when I was taking automated manufacturing and robotics classes in 1994?! Your amazing, so easy to follow and understand.
Thanks Pete, for nice explanation
Great video! Very easy to understand and explained at a good speed. I followed you the entire time. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much ,you explained it very thoroughly and the hands on explanation at the end was perfect . Excellent tutorial.
Thanks a million times for your amazingly explained tutorial,
please keep posting more videos

tnx very good explanation...
thanks a lot, it really helped me
Would the NOTO setup work for running DRL/blinkers? As in when you turn the blinker on the DRL turns off, however as the blinker flashes the DRL remains off, until the switch is turned off and then the time delay comes into effect, and the DRL turns back on...
thanks about this video
thx
Thank you.
thank you very much from ruby land
thanks
very nice
Tysm
nice video help me
thank bro am from india good tich
Hi Pete, can you make two way traffic light system with pedestrian crossing..
I want how working the combination of on delay and off delay timer in a same time.
OK, I'm still confused little bit. How do I make it so that: light bulb is OFF > coil energized > 5 sec delay > light bulb turns ON > coil de-energized > 5 sec delay > light bulb turns OFF. Talking about same light bulb. Basically for that bulb I want lag to be on both on/off state change = no immediate on or off ever.
Most timers provide either On Delay or Off Delay, your scenario is looking for a more advanced timer than the standard 11 pin relay described here:

@@PeteVree I found a better solution for my problem. 1) Simple $5 time delay relay from Amazon which I configured to normally open - timed closed. 2) For OFF delay I hooked up 3*4700uF caps in parallel to 12V control which gives me 10 seconds of additional runtime after full power off. Works in my case since I don't need specific delay timing. In theory it's even easier: hookup plain dumb relay and capacitor + resistor in front of it. Haven't tried it since already got timed relay on hand.

Congratulations on having the most random comment in the history of my channel.
@@PeteVree Ha Ha I watch your videos all the time but that comment was meant for another channel! Sorry.
No apologies needed, I laughed out loud when I read it.
How can I like your video 100 times sir
Where do I get such pneumatic relay?
I highly doubt that anyone makes these anymore.
Hi, how I pausea timer?
I need PLC programming
If you do a search of my channel you will find videos on Twido, Allen Bradley, and Siemens PLC TImer Instructions
Best
I am doing electrical level 4 from BCIT(Vancouver) it s a great help thanks again.Wish you could be my tutor 👏.
No problem. Btw... I went to BCIT for their Pre-Apprenticeship course, really miss Vancouver. All the best. Pete
can we get theses slides please
Sorry, I don't share my slides, etc.
