    You have done a really excellent job explaining the Philidor. Thank you - much appreciated!

    I like the way you make things clear. Instead of "if he does this, [12 move sequence]" you say "if he does this, [explains weaknesses and strenghts of each side in plain language]". Really first rate teaching skills.

    i know this is unrelated to the video but ty so much for showing the queen sac idea in alapin when you were doing a lecture in a discord server
    i got it in a game and my opponent resigned because i was up a piece one of the coolest moves i have ever made

    Great video and I personally can't get enough of the Philidor for both colors. Would love to see more longer games where you played it OTB or online. That GM game was awesome to watch. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see the next speedrun even though it doesn't have a Philidor in it. A speedrun with only philidors would be a blast a like all you can eat buffet of philidor games. Thanks for the tip about Duda I didn't know that he played it. Thanks for the upload.

    I'm currently looking for a good response to e4 that doesn't need as much preparation as e5, c5 etc. So the Philidor (and maybe the Scandinavian or the Czech Pirc) seems very interesting. I have two questions: 1. Can't white prevent our Philidor setup by playing 4.d5 (since you choose the variation with a delayed e5)? 2. What opening would you recommed against 1.d4 that is sound and cuts down on preparation time?

    This series was invaluable. I would love to see a Sicilian hyper accelerated dragon with a speed run demonstrating how to play against different white variations. Let’s goooo!!! 😀

    • @SLChessDevelopment
      @SLChessDevelopment  Před 3 lety +1

      Hyper accelerated dragon just isn't the best dragon opening in my opinion. I recommend playing the normal accelerated or normal dragon instead! I can do a video on that in the future though as I am knowledgeable in those lines.

    Playing this opening in low elo feels like cheating. Thanks a lot for sharing! It's a great opening to have in your repertoire! Easy to learn, easy plans and it just lets you focus on the middle-endgame which is what most of us should be working on anyways.

    watching your videos have inspired me to play the philidor! Do you have any pgns for sale? Or would you recommend any courses or books on the philidor?

    • @SLChessDevelopment
      @SLChessDevelopment  Před 3 lety +1

      I learned the Philidor myself but I heard Simon William’S Black Lion video course is good (from word of mouth)!

    Love love love the Philidor series but you still haven't covered the Petrosian system, the Ponziani, and the whale (with me in a msg which was great by the way but what about the other subscribers who are wondering) plus you still haven't covered the very scary Scotch Gambit which I think would permanently silence the critics of the Philidor.
    Can we also please see a bit of variety in the speedruns? Philidor is an awesome opening but peeps might be getting the feeling that that may be all you kinda well know....

    Hopefully after you reach 1000 subs youtube algorithm will promote this channel a bit more. I have to check some of Duda games as you mentioned he plays it a lot. Thanks a milion for your hard work! Never give up and upload videos more often ;)

    You seem to favor White Philador now over Colle Zuk - how comes? :-)

      Only preference. Colle Zukertort is just a tad bit too boring sometimes

      Ah of course! That was the plan from the get-go like you mentioned earlier...attacking the weak side. I'm enjoying seeing the flexibility of Philidor. Thanks!

      When you say "bad" bishop vs "good" bishop I'm assuming you are referring to which one has better positioning or potentially better positioning?

    • @SLChessDevelopment
      @SLChessDevelopment  Před 3 lety +2

      @@brianfrisbie7937 good bishops are bishops that aren’t blocked by their own pawns while bad ones are ones that are.
