    What kind of mileage does your truck get?

    • @gwh21375
      @gwh21375 Před 2 lety

      I can get up to 23 on flat ground at 62mph. I average around 16 empty. 2002 3500 dually with tuner.

      Wow that is impressive, I heard rumours of these trucks getting mileage in the 20s but I didn’t know it was possible with a Dually

      When mine was a manual and 2wd (with a D60 dead front axle), it would get ~23 MPG at 60 MPH. 1994 3500 C&C, shortened to standard cab length, stock 8’ bed, singles installed all the way around, 3.55 gearing, and ~430k miles.

    Very cool Videos!!! I can believe the mileage, I just put 900 miles on my 96 2wd 5 speed truck, all highway and got 22mpg going average speed of 75mph. These trucks seem to love constant speeds, as soon as you have to go on and off the throttle the mileage will go down significantly. Keep doing what your doing and ill keep watching!!

      Thank you! Wow that is seriously impressive mileage for 75 miles an hour.

    okay, not a truck here but in my old 98 3.8l v6 mustang I get 30 - 31mpg.
    Variable data:
    weight/distribution: 3,010lbs, 50/50 (front to rear)
    Transmission: Stock T-5 WC (long gear ratios, 0.73:1 O/D)
    Final Drive: 3.08:1
    Cruising speed: 60 - 65mph
    Engine RPM while cruising: ~1800rpm
    tire size: 26"-ish tires.
    Tread type: winter/snow (mostly all-season tire type)
    Lead/Feather foot: feather foot.
    A big factor I found why people waste a LOT of fuel is because they just ramp up the rpms passed 2000rpm, and just lead footing it.
    jk, seriously though I'm happy that I get GREAT gas mileage and I'm glad diesel engines exist too because they are way more efficient than gas engines (combustion and fuel economy wise.)
    Fun fact: Rudolph Diesel was the inventor who made the world's first diesel engine, and the fuel that was supposed to be used was peanut oil.
    That aside, I love your truck and have a wonderful day! : )

    I have 37 on my 12v too. With my 4:11s I love it on the road. Off road and rock crawling I want lower gears. That divorced 205 would be an awesome double case for low low. It would also get rid of the two piece rear shaft and lengthen the front for better angle

    One thing than nobody has ever done is putting a turbo Diesel sprinter engine and tranny. I had a 1 ton dually sprinter, loaded or not I could not get less than 21mpg. I would love so see a youtuber do this swap.

    • @StockyBaldman
      @StockyBaldman  Před 2 lety +1

      Ya that would be awesome, do those engines have any similarities to the eco diesels?
