...scenery here is as much breath taking as it is life giving..
Static, you are my Truman Show, in a polite and very uplifting way.
The perks of taking your home with you: when you get tired, being able to pull off and take nap - then having the choice of falling asleep to the sound of waves and waking up to view a beautiful lake. That is difference between the joy of living in the moment and the drudge of living to pay a mortgage. One of your most enjoyable videos.....
Thank you. I’m in constant awe at how much better life has been since starting vanlife.
Btw, I didn’t sleep at the lake. But I might try staying there sometime.
Really nice area Scott
I love seeing big rocks off the coast with pine trees growing on top of them!
1.50 Monday afternoon in NZ,My boss just came back from meeting and he asked if we’ve been busy .i pipe up Yes I’ve been watching Static Campervan new video 😂
Best of luck finding a new job 😂
I’ve tried but the boss isn’t keen to let me go.i keep telling him I’ll hook my caravan (travel trailer) up and I’ll get out of his hair
Johnny Thatcher in that case, are you hiring? 🙃
Haha having to answer sales calls from people in the tyre industry, kiwi slang and mumbling it would be funny to watch you take calls. 😂
Beautiful scenery. 🐬🦀🌳🌲🌳🌲
Thank U ☀️👍🌲 Static always enjoy the vids. Another one for the bucket list.
Mapman does not disappoint, again. Keep up the good work.
Thanks kindly
Always appreciate the maps! :-)
@@rhondalyn100 I subscribed to your channel even though there is nothing on it. Am I nuts, or what?
You know your doing well when you can have pie for breakfast. VANCITY VANLIFE sent me
Haha. Guess you’re right.
Bless his heart, Chrome is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
People...yuck!! :-) You did a good job of avoiding filming the blighters Static, and you filmed some lovely trees...so a great video! I too love the sound of waves lapping against the shore, almost as much as the wind rustling through the trees :-)
That burger looked good always keep canned good with you it's got me out of a jam a couple times. That was some nice scenery thanks for the video 😎👍👍
✌🏼
Wow! Washington is full of such Beauty and alot of it. 🌲🌅🌲
This state has a little bit of everything!
Nice, mellow video & beautiful spot!! Naps are always good. :)
Thank you for the tip about the permit, as many vids I've watched no one has said anything about needing to have one.
Hey Campervan, just a shout out, have a good a coffee Labor Day weekend, tc
Yes, me too, I've had enough of smokers and vapors!! Beautiful scenery!
Thank you for taking me along, enjoyed the hike and the views awesome
Rather pleasant? Indeed!
Great weekend...feeling peaceful now..ty
What a beautiful area
Another delightful video, thank you! My daughter relocated to Portland last month and I have enjoyed the small amount of the PNW I've seen. Look forward to much more exploration. I appreciate your videos so very much.
Excellent! There’s lots to see all around Portland. Beautiful area.
Yay! Vampire territory....great vid, Mr. Static. :-)
Haha!
Beautiful, thanks for sharing!
Oh,,,I see you got a new pillow behind you on the shelf! Oh wait a minute, That’s a loaf of bread 😜
AWSOME Video
😂✌🏼
That was a beautiful drive Scott. Thankyou for the maps you include. My wife and I are going the do the Seattle area coast to Oregon drive next month. Done the Oregon Coast too many times but never the Washington coast. We'll be seeing some of these same sights ourselves. Danke! 👍
That makes me so happy to hear! ✌🏼
Beautiful!
I really needed that today. Thank you 🙏☺️
Looks like a great weekend
Mr. Static, you filmed a beautiful video. Not everybody can capture the imagery of that scenery as you did. In addition, I am truly impressed by your hiking skills. Not only that, but you seemed to be particularly well groomed in this quite entertaining visual feast. And to top it off, I doubt there are many who could dare challenge your epicurean talents.
Um, how did I do with my Flattery?
Ahhh, bwhahaha! Great job as always!
Thank you for all your vlogs! I always enjoy them.
Hey, Thanks.
You live in a Metris? That seems like the perfect size van to me.
Actually, I am waiting for the 2020's to come out, then my plan is to start building it out. Your build has given me lots of ideas. I locked up the CZcams name, and plan to start uploading vids as I go along. Should be moving to SF in 2020 and leaving Tucson. I will be a 9-5 working vanlifer too.
I enjoyed the video and views. Thanks.
Hey Scott..I recognized the Rest Area there just before Port Angeles. I've stayed a few times when traveling around the Peninsula..I usually stay over in the gravel area. That drive up to Cape Flattery is not a quick one..but nice to take your time. The views are amazing out by the water there at Cape Flattery ! That hike takes you by surprise..downhill all the way there and then uphill all the way back ;-)
Good tip in the gravel area. There were a few vans parked there already, so I opted for the spot close to the highway. I usually just park downtown, it’s always quiet at night in PA.
Awesome video Scott. Thanks for taking me along on the ride, which I would otherwise not have done myself.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope you’re doing well, my friend.
Hey Campervan, sure glad that Harley kept revving, had to make sure my ears weren't playing tricks on me, lol, burgers looked tasty, awesome scenery, thanks for the Gary Grant remake of north by northwest, lol, be well out there, tc
Cary’s trip was a wee bit more exciting, but this trip was more my speed.
Thanks, John.
The view was absolutely stunning. It is a must see for me. I also don’t like crowds but I’ll have to tuff it out for this view. THANK YOU
You should add Ruby Beach to your list as well. It’s south of Cape Flattery on the Pacific. Ruby Beach is stunning, plus there’s a little more room to spread out away from the crowds.
Thank you
Hey Campervan, just a shout out, cheers on the coffee, be well out there, tc
Thanks John. I’m heading to buy some coffee beans right now!
Great scenery 👍 thanks for sharing ✌️😎..
✌🏼
parting words were the best - a little bit of road noise, I can't see anything but I can hear the waves.
Lovely Vlog. Thanks for sharing your ocean, sea and lake views. 😎
Thanks so much! ☺️
🦋
Looks so peaceful 🌟
It was! It was also very crowded. It’s a popular spot
@@StaticCamperVan I suppose all of the good spots are crowded on the weekends 😊
Scott, lake Crescent is one beautiful lake for sure. Went to Salt Creek rec area Sunday, might want to check that place out as well.
Thanks for the tip, never heard of Salt Creek.
If you’re gonna follow me around, we should at least coordinate our travels!
Static CamperVan LOL yes we should!! I’m thinking of getting tacos Saturday.
Safe travels my friends
Love the cooking
Mmmm coffee i think you love coffee as much as i do ... pie yummy ... cant wait to go up that way towards Washington and Oregon ... wow what a wonderful view that is just amazing ... naps are very good for you , they did a study and the people who took naps lived longer than people whom did not take naps .
Excellent news regarding naps!
Static CamperVan the reason is we go and go all day taxing our bodies is hard work for our bodies to go all day till night so when we nap even if just 15 min it gives our bodies a chance to heal mid day gives our cells a chance to rest and renew and heal . I have no sense of direction ether never have just not one of my gifts so i never go out without my GPS . The GPS my favorite all time invention . Has given me a freedom to roam that i never new in past years.
Hey Campervan, just another shout out, waiting on another coffee inspired coffee shop review, be well out there tc
Thank, John. Hopefully the change of season will bring me a change in productivity.
@@StaticCamperVan I know what you mean, the spirit is there to do it, but actually pulling the task off is a different story, lol, tc
Beautiful area I need to get back up there and explore it’s been a few years. Just finished converting a minivan into a camper. Loved the video thank you😊
Awesome! Hopefully your camper will make it easy to get to all the places you’re interested in seeing!
Great video Scott, saw you drive by on the way to Salt Creek. Enjoyed a beautiful, relaxing day out of the city too!
I swear you’re following me everywhere!
@@StaticCamperVan Great minds think alike! 😉😊
Ok Mr P.N.W you've outdone yourself, Wim Wenders would also be impressed with the tranquil, seamless transition editing, smooth, serene establishing shots and unobtrusive narration, bravo!
Hope you're proud of yourself you've made me regret I didn't get the hell out of Dodge myself this week end.Nice going Werner Herzog! Alas, there's next weekend.
Well... thanks... I guess. Haha!
Last weekend I lazed around. This weekend was supposed to make up for the nothingness that was last. Plus, I have plans that will keep me in the city next weekend. Argh!
You're right about the Canadian First Nations title, I think Scott's a closeted wannabe Canuck!
We live in a beautiful state! It’s fun seeing it through your eyes too. Looked like a good dinner to me.
🙏🏼✌🏼
I live in western central Colorado , and there is no way to just get away from people. Enjoy and be safe
Jarrod Harris it’s actually a little unusual to encounter crowds in the Olympics. When I did the twenty mile hike to Olympic Hot Springs, I saw less than a dozen people all day.
@@StaticCamperVan hey Scott I envy you. All of Colorado has now become a tourist hub, so during summer months and fall all our backroads become highways especially during hunting season
It's good your lid doesn't fit tightly. When making a tiny oven on stovetop the lid actually needs to be somewhat vented. I appreciate the map perspective you typically include. What a fabulous area!!! Cheers 🍷
Good to know I am doing something right in regards to my lid :^)
Thanks for the feedback on the maps. They typically add a lot of extra editing time. Happy to know it’s time well spent.
It’s hard to beat Washington state for beauty.
You need to show more dreary weather days… I’m ready to move to the Seattle area!
Haha. It doesn’t rain nearly as much as Washingtonians would like for us to believe. Sometimes it’s difficult to get rainy day videos
I get a kick out of you! I have no sense of direction either, if it doesn't give it to me with Rt or Lt I'm lost! LOL!
A smart phone is our best friend!
👍
No smoking no vapeing or veggies for me! Ha ha!
Vary nice! I love that drive. :-D
Haha! I wouldn’t have minded those people eating veggies. Next time, I shall offer anyone smoking a piece of kale instead.
@@StaticCamperVan you never know one of them might take you up on that. :-D
Sarah Tree 😂
What an enchanting place! The trees are so welcoming... The splashes of the ocean are so calming. A very good retreat for a week of busy days. Is that near the city or quite far?
It’s about four and a half hours drive from Seattle. There’s a ferry from Seattle to the east side of the peninsula that would cut down a little of the miles.
No Static for several days!!! Hope you are OK!! :)
Haha. No worries, everything is fine. I’m simply enjoying the last bits of summer like everyone else.
Ay Dios mio que Bello...so way back is more of a workout 😁. Have you been to the light house?
Hey no judgments here, I do same instead of my Goya medium rice. I did hear it. (I have my earplugs on)
The day I chose to go out there it just got foggier and foggier. By the time I got to Neah Bay it was completely socked in and no point it taking the hike.
Oh no! You need to try again. It’s magical out here.
@@StaticCamperVan - I'll need to come at a drier time of the year.
Al Christensen so... you’re never coming back? 😂
@@StaticCamperVan - Not in a big rush, anyway. It took me about a week east of the Cascades to dry out the last time I was on the Peninsula. My luck. :/
A fee to go to Cape Flattery, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca is now the Salish Sea? Wow. I really don't get around much anymore. Sailing the Salish Sea... I guess the Salish Strait was kind of a tongue twister. Strait Salish--I like that better... ok maybe not... Still magnificent.
Haha. Yeah, I don’t quite get the names. It’s confusing to say the least!
Maybe someone will explain the names or correct me. I very well could be wrong as I am simply reading my map for info.
@@StaticCamperVan I hope so. My husband thinks it is to reflect the local tribal name.
I just looked it up. The name Salish Sea refers to all of the straights and the sound as a way of referring to the entire area. It’s apparently not supposed to be a new name or rename of any of the bodies of water.
@@StaticCamperVan Just never saw it referenced on a map like that. Good geography lesson. :)
Is it possible just to stay overnight at Lake Crescent? You had one of those beautiful weekends where you just head in one directions but took your time to unwind and relax. What weekends should be, get out and experience but also relax.
Funny you should ask about staying overnight at Lake Crescent. I ask a couple just that who appeared to be setting up a tarp to sleep on. They said they were going to ask me the same question! They said all the nearby campgrounds were full. I think they slept there. I considered it since there’s no signs posted against overnight parking. It looks to be a fairly nice place to park. But the vehicles driving by do seem to speed after dark, making it a little noisy.
Is this the sound of your coffee machine? Sounds like a Harley Davidson. I am very impressed! >> 1:55 :)
Hahaha!
Peach pie. Breakfast of champions. Beautiful hike too. Is there any place to go swimming around there??
The water in this area is really cold all year long.
I’ve been swimming in Lake Washington and I’ve been told there’s lots of warm lakes in Eastern Washington.
@@StaticCamperVan Burrrrrr! Hope you end up exploring some of those warm lake areas. I grew up going to So CA beaches but can't go in the Pacific Ocean anymore. Really cold compared to most of the water bodies I've experienced as an adult!
Hot Springs Dominique Lucky for you you’ve had warm places to swim. I haven’t been swimming this year. It’s been cool here all summer, save for a few days of slightly warm temperatures.
@@StaticCamperVan Are there any other hot springs in the area besides the one you've shown us? Would be really enjoyable in the weather you're having. BTW, sounds like you've got some awesome sleeping weather!
Hot Springs Dominique there are several hot springs in the PNW. Most are out in the wilderness. There are a couple close to Seattle but they require reservations, because they are managed property.
Hi! Does it help (algorithm or whatever) to leave comments on old videos? I like commenting, but on years old videos it sometimes feels like showing up a day after the party! 😜 (I always thumbs up the vids)
It helps greatly. Thank you
@@StaticCamperVan oh wow! Great! Thanks. 😃
Less than three minutes into the video and you're already dropping the "C" word!
I’m sorry. Next video I will mention Coffee right out of the gate.
@@StaticCamperVan So when is the spin off channel "Static CoffeeVan" starting?
@@Linescrew1Canada 😂😂
Very nice. What camera do you use please?
iPhone Xr
Have you seen the seastacks?
I have! I prefer that stretch of beach to this one as there’s more room to spread out away from the crowds.
Love it out there. Done lots of hiking in the past up around 7 lakes basin area. So pretty. Good info on now needing a pass for the tribal lands. Wasn't needed last time I was there.
Webb Trekker as beautiful as it was, I prefer Kalaloch and Ruby beach. The narrow area of the cape means more people in one spot. Part of the appeal of the Olympics is the vast solitude.
I’d still go back to Cape Flattery but will get up there early to beat the crowds.
Do you see the face??? >> 11:50 :)))))
shhh...
wheres your wife? we don't see her...
Haven’t met her yet
"First Nations" I just say Indian.
Say whatever you want. I’ve never liked the name Indian, but it’s commonly used.
