    A really well done video! So clearly presented. Could you continue this definite article lesson with a kind of mini series : exceptions to the rule that nouns in 'o' are always masculine, plurals of nouns like homem and mulher. Keep up the great work you're doing!

    I just started both with PP and with Portuguese (i.e. I didn't even know 'sim' and 'não' 😂) and really love this new series of videos, they are so helpful. Also a very good message at the end, even to someone who has learned other languages to fluency. Starting at the beginning again can feel overwhelming!

    Que mensagem fantástica no final do vídeo!
    I would share this will all my friends who say that because they are 'old' now it's so hard.. But it really just comes down to the discipline and motivation you have to learn a language. Obrigado!

    Hi guys, can you explain why we need to put article on the name too? Its a bit strange to me
    Like O Rui, O Joe…..

    • @PracticePortuguese
      @PracticePortuguese  Před rokem +1

      Olá! I'm not sure if there's a great explanation there :) It's just how European Portuguese has evolved. In formal/literary/journalistic writing and speech, it's common to omit articles before names. But otherwise, you'll usually see and hear them. Brazilian Portuguese, on the other hand, uses definite articles a lot less in all circumstances. - Joseph

    O que e' a diferenca entre A Menina e A Rapariga?

    • @PracticePortuguese
      @PracticePortuguese  Před rokem +1

      Não há uma diferença rigorosa. Em português europeu, tanto 'menina' como 'rapariga' podem usar-se para descrever uma jovem do sexo feminino, mas normalmente, 'menina' aplica-se a uma faixa etária mais baixa do que 'rapariga' (por exemplo, criança vs. adolescente/jovem adulta). Ainda assim, há quem use 'menina' como cortesia também para mulheres adultas, portanto é um termo com um uso muito fluido :) Nota: No Brasil, 'rapariga' é um termo ofensivo a evitar. - Joseph
