The scale of the development of this game boggles my mind. 11 years later and I’m still blown away logistically and development-wise by GTA 5. I can only imagine what it’s taken/going to take to fully realize everything they want for GTA 6. I think they know everybody is watching them and expecting them to raise the bar and set the new standard for AAA gaming whenever it does come out, so I don’t blame them if they ever choose to not take any chances and delay it as long as necessary to make sure it’s a near-perfect release. If they release a broken/unfinished product after all this time, it will be a huge stain on their reputation and will likely hurt sales from the get go.
Five M has some scripts to automatically generate apartment interiors, rockstar improved it a lot and the outputs look awesome (these leaks haven't gotten viral yet, wait for it lol) so I wouldn't worry a lot about the enterable interiors they want in the game, other than that in other leaks everything seems to be going exactly how rockstar wanted it from the start

If it’s true the next installment in the gta series is delayed until 2026, yes waiting another year will be hard but I rather play a game that’s fully completed and it’s not rushed out with any problems.

If management decides that it is getting delayed then that will be reflected in the corporate guidance they give as part of their financial documents as a public company. Currently, they are expecting huge revenue growth in 2025, so if that changes, you'll hear about it in one of the upcoming quarterly reports.
What I think would be really cool for GTA 6 online, hear me out… GTA 5 online anything to with sea vehicles other then the submarine no one bought at all, what I think would be really cool is as well as hangers to store aircraft maybe have a small aircraft carrier like 5 or 6 aircraft to be stored in and maybe 2 or 3 military armoured vehicles and have a have a hovercraft in the back to transport the vehicles to shore, have a bedroom so you can spawn there an maybe a heist room Or A small battle ship ether would be call to have just so it’s not just land vehicles that are interesting

I don’t mind waiting until late 2026. don’t rush them, let them cool. It will be worth the wait. My biggest fear is getting a GTA6 that was rushed and with lots of content being cut in the end game due to lack of time.
It sounds like the employees working remotely are not taking the job seriously & using it as a holiday, making them fall behind on progress. That's why Rockstar are urging them to get back into the office, and they don't like that. I could be wrong but that's exactly what it sounds like.
R* definitely has their history of delays. RDR2 ended up being delayed about a year or so, right? It could certainly happen again, but I'm sure they'll do whatever they can to avoid it. It's not like they're saying 'hmm, how can we avoid making God-like money for as long as possible'? They've set an incredibly high bar for themselves and I like that they won't rest until they blow it apart. In the meantime, Rockstar, how about keeping us distracted with some GTAO weekly events that don't totally suck?
Second this - both GTA V and RDR2 got delayed substantially from the original target launch date. GTA V was delayed by ~one quarter and RDR2 was delayed by ~one year. Following this trajectory GTA VI could get a similar delay (esp. given its growing scale & ambition). But not time to push the panic button yet, they will be aiming for 2025 for sure and even gave a broader target launch window in the first trailer unlike their previous big releases, only time will tell. Problem is at some point in the not distant future the quality & scale of GTAO updates will have to give way even further to get GTAVI over the line I would think...

I get not wanting a Cyberpunk situation but as someone how had minimal problems with cyberpunks release state even on ps4 pro and not PC I’m one of the minority who rather have a basically playable game earlier than a fully polished game later, that’s what updates are for Maybe just having the option for beta for games would be there for impatient people like me while have time to iron out bugs for the full release

With Rockstar being a little notorious for delaying their big releases, when they said 2025 I had already decided that if they intended an early 2025 release, it was more likely to be late summer, maybe even as late as September/October. One source I won't be relying on for accurate info is Kotaku.

Truth is, the game has already been delayed one or two times since development started. That's why we kept hearing rumors about an announcement in 2021/2022. I think initially it WAS going to be announced but it kept getting pushed back.
I hope one factor is because they want to stick to their roots of not giving a shot who they offend and think this current climate of "I'm offended by everything" is over and done with by the time it releases.

It sounds like the employees working remotely are not taking the job seriously & using it as a holiday, making them fall behind on progress. That's why Rockstar are urging them to get back into the office, and they don't like that.

R* definitely has their history of delays. RDR2 ended up being delayed about a year or so, right? It could certainly happen again, but I'm sure they'll do whatever they can to avoid it. It's not like they're saying 'hmm, how can we avoid making God-like money for as long as possible'? They've set an incredibly high bar for themselves and I like that they won't rest until they blow it apart. In the meantime, Rockstar, how about keeping us distracted with some GTAO weekly events that don't totally suck?
Second this - both GTA V and RDR2 got delayed substantially from the original target launch date. GTA V was delayed by ~one quarter and RDR2 was delayed by ~one year. Following this trajectory GTA VI could get a similar delay (esp. given its growing scale & ambition).
But not time to push the panic button yet, they will be aiming for 2025 for sure and even gave a broader target launch window in the first trailer unlike their previous big releases, only time will tell.
Problem is at some point in the not distant future the quality & scale of GTAO updates will have to give way even further to get GTAVI over the line I would think...

When you have a game as big and as important as GTA6, its not a stretch to say they dont wanna mess it up, and will take as much time as they need to.
Having said that, its been in development for about 10 years, so not sure how much more time they need tbh.

I saw on social media from clickbait sources that it was delayed until 2026, and that a second trailer was coming next month. Immediately was sus and knew that I could rely on TGG to deliver the real news. Havent heard anything about a second trailer so that was BS and now I know that the game is still almost certainly releasing in 2025, even if in the Fall which I already assumed would happen anyway. So i don’t believe that its going to be delayed since rockstar themselves said it’s going to be in 2025.

I wouldn’t really mind an additional year of wait tbh. It’s already been over 10 years of anticipation anyway, so another year isn’t that dramatic. As long as the wait will be worthwhile and the game will be delivered at a proper Rockstar quality, I’m fine with waiting longer.
well i can wait considering cyberpunk left a bit of trauma in me with how it was buggy, after i returned to the ps5 version i ended up liking the game once it was completed and beat every quest in the game (besides the new DLC) thats the sad part is beating the game after doing stuff.
I heard that Kotaku is on the verge of shutting down due to their woke ideologies and the defending of the infamous Sweet Baby inc debacle. I don't normally take either side, but with the way things are, gaming journalists aren't as reliable as you think.

So this has to have a great release and and not be full of dumbass bugs that would make it unplayable. I don't want the same to happen to GTA 6.

Just dropping some fun info and sources I came across on the big topic around Ai and a few (major) ways it will integrate into GTA6 gameplay. And yes, this Ai is patented because it’s a huge breakthrough in the world of gaming… so I’m HYPED.
Overall takeaways:
INTERIORS Ai /
It will have randomly generated interiors, meaning: rooms/buildings will fit into styled categories/tags.
Example: a high end apartment vs an old apartment and would have specific assets/styles as a result: new/worn, clean/dirty feel and styled elements within. It will have a general structure but have interchangeable features/objects/elements that will generate and evolve over time. A room will not simply change just by leaving and re-entering again right away.
NPC Ai /
NPCs will have Ai generated “responses”, moods and animations based on events, atmosphere, other player or NPC moods and situations.
Example: If an NPC is in the rain, it can have randomized actions around the rain/weather. If an NPC is drunk, they will respond in various ways based on what the Ai will randomly tell that NPC what to do; not a built-in “animation tree” within the game. If you or another NPC are doing something “crazy”, the Ai may tell NPCs to start recording you on their phones etc.
They will basically act and feel a lot more individualized with an extensive variety of spontaneous actions. Like as if they’re all living their own lives.

I get not wanting a Cyberpunk situation but as someone how had minimal problems with cyberpunks release state even on ps4 pro and not PC I’m one of the minority who rather have a basically playable game earlier than a fully polished game later, that’s what updates are for
Maybe just having the option for beta for games would be there for impatient people like me while have time to iron out bugs for the full release

A big part could be because of the specs of the pro versions of the consoles are just being let out.
Translation, "We already told our investors and shareholders the fiscal year financial layout. You better not get us sued for not following through so get your %$& back to the office NOW."
Rockstar Games have a fiduciary obligation under penalty of law if they don't commit to what they said would be the most profitable year for them.
Hence the force back to work tactics to speed up production to reach the deadline on time
With Rockstar being a little notorious for delaying their big releases, when they said 2025 I had already decided that if they intended an early 2025 release, it was more likely to be late summer, maybe even as late as September/October. One source I won't be relying on for accurate info is Kotaku.
It will most likely be released in December.

Truth is, the game has already been delayed one or two times since development started. That's why we kept hearing rumors about an announcement in 2021/2022. I think initially it WAS going to be announced but it kept getting pushed back.

When I heard reports that it could release early 2025, I had a gut instinct it’ll be pushed back to the end of the year, kinda like GTA 5, but instead of Sept I was thinking more November.
I’d like to have faith R* are competent enough devs to finish it in that extra time if it is falling behind.
Either way if it has to be delayed, it should be. Release the game finished and polished. I mean bugs will always be there, but if they’re minor, and non-game breaking, most gamers don’t care.
