    Those high boys with stock steeliest are so wicked looking. And most people don’t know how well the slender tall tires get around in the snow. They are awesome.

      @Robrt32 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me some wide chrome or aluminum wheels with 33/50/15 would be sooooooooo much better looking.

      @Robrt32 yeah. Wide tires and big wheels for the WIN.

      I always leave my antique vehicles stock, including rims and tires. Car manufacturers spend million of dollars in R&D setting up the vehicle properly so I figure they knew what they were doing when they developed it. Bearings, brakes, transmission, engine, suspension, etc. was developed to work with certain size components. Making any backyard changes can impact a lot more than most people realize. However if a person owns a truck, it’s their business what they do with it. Some modifications may make sense based on their useage and location. But I am with you, this truck looks awesome and handles great with the stock wheels.

    • @stomper2582
      @stomper2582 Před 7 měsíci +4

      @@Robrt32 yea, I like to go for function and I like the looks of the stock ones. You ever drove a 4x4 with stock wheels in deep snow? 100% better traction and steering capability.

      @@Robrt32 Wide tires are for flotation only they offer terrible traction in snow and ice! The lower psi is the culprit.

    Back when trucks were trucks. My grandfather and my uncles had an F-250 of this era. The thing was like a tank, lock in the 4x4 and it would go through anything. Manual hubs, manual shift and manual steering. Imagine if kids had to learn how to drive on one of these trucks. Eventually, they ended up putting a different cab on it and a dump box on the back. They used it on their farm, a lot.

    Sure reminds me of driving Dad's 67 F100 4x4 back in high school. It was new, then. Poor old green is sitting to the side of my house now waiting for an engine. Not sure if I want to go through the 390 that Dad swapped in after the first 352 crapped out at 280k miles, find another 352, or go with 351W, or maybe 460/auto with a divorced NP205 sitting here. Better get it done, I suppose, I'm 70 years old, and working on the ground through another Idaho winter ain't very appealing....

      @powerwagon3731 If I was to go 351 or 460, I'd also go with C6 that both running engines have attached, and a divorced NP205 that I pulled from a 78 F350 years ago. Helps to have a Bud who owns a driveline service shop. Still not inexpensive, but easier than sourcing adapters.
