I have a question please, I bought a brand new phone. When I try to turn it on for the first time, the phone won't work. I charged it for half an hour then turned it on, it works!! Honestly, this is the first time I faced things like this in a brand new phone! Usually, the brand new phons come with some charge like around 40 or 50%. Now, my question is, Do I need to be worried about that or that could happen especially if this phone was made last year ( 2021)???

Some electrical devices, like some lanterns recommend at least 8 hours of charging, but it does not seem to be the same for modern phones.

You're totally wrong about memory effect. It's not about memory effect, it's about resetting the battery charging ions so that it holds the charges better and this still applies to newest, modern phones. Drain your battery to 0% and charge it to the max - yes you hear me right, max it to 100% (during this time, do not use your phone when charging). After which, for daily use 80-90%, will work and not beyond. You will find your battery hold charge longer and won't drop as drastically.
