    I'm an android user..... but the principles are the same. The closer you keep your phone to 50%, the better your phone battery will be and the longer it will last. 50% is that sweet spot, but not realistic, which is why they recommend the 80-20 rule. Never let it go below 20% or past 80%. Heat is the enemy of batteries.....which is why I only charge my phone in front of a fan blowing straight on it lol. If you use the proper charger, keep it between the proper percentage rates, and try to keep it cool while it's charging, it will last as long as it possibly can :) :).

    Actually… „optimized battery charging“, as you can read at the place you go to turn it on, does NOT prevent the iPhone from charging over 80%. It in fact says that it „waits to charge over 80% until it knows you are ready to use it“. Take a look! It’s in black & white there to read.
    This setting is to prevents the battery being charged for a longer period of time while being at 100% - which would in fact be damaging. The iPhone is programmed to learn over the course of a few days… (at times when it is charging for over 5 hours) to know what time you will start using your phone again… after learning, it changes to trickle charging once it reaches 80%, but does then in fact continue charging up to 100% ready for this time it learns that you usually begin using it again. That is the point of this setting and NOT to prevent going PAST 80%. It says this exactly there where you turn this setting on!

    • @alexpotts9489
      @alexpotts9489 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Due to the design of wireless charging, it'll heat up more than charging through USB-C or lightning. The electricity has to collect through a huge winding copper coil in the middle of the phone for wireless charging, which is usually where the battery is too unfortunately. Not too sure about the clean energy charging.

      slow charging anything is never a bad thing I don't ever use special fast chargers and NO wireless chargers either. It's the reason my iPhone 8S Plus is STILL working flawlessly. It's a 2016-17 has 93% overall health and it's my secondary line. It easily lasts ALL day, takes great pics its huge for my huge hands. Try using any android that old if it even functions. My main 13 Pro Max I've had a year. Still at 100% overall battery health. Just use a simple smaller Apple charger. Ive never understood what's so special about wireless charging. whatever floats your boat. Not very difficult to simply plug an apple cord in my phone once a day.

    His best advice here was about HEAT. It's thee number one killer of any tech device. These iPhones have what's called "Smart Technology" batteries. keep the heat away and charge the shit out of your phone whenever your want. I've been charging my phones to 100% WHEN NEEDED but not sure about this 80% thing. My Iphone8S Plus from 2016-17. Still at 93% overall battery health. Ive never NOT charged it to 100%. Sorry this may sound stupid but if 80% is the max we should not exceed.... does that mean when I want my phone FULLY charged, im realistically expecting to see my phone at 80% battery... and this means leaving it overnight to charge or continuing to charge after 80% is bad because it will eventually be 100%. Does this mean... i should never see 100% on my iphone, i should see 80% as the new "100%" ... @Daniel About Tech could you explain what does this mean?
    I took this from the Apple site itself "With 80% Limit enabled, your iPhone will occasionally charge to 100 percent to maintain accurate battery state-of-charge estimates." ??? What is maintain accurate vbattery state of charge estimates... isnt 100% bad... why would it occasionally reach 100...

    • @alexpotts9489
      @alexpotts9489 Před 4 měsíci

      I think Daniel was just trying to say eventually after an extended amount of time the battery *can* degrade to 80% *eventually.* Depending on how rough you are with your battery that could be 1 year or 5 years. Depends on how careful you are with charging, heat, and percentage. They are all factors to battery degradation.
      As to the occasionally charging to 100% to maintain accurate battery state of charge, the idea is that the battery has a "memory" of how much capacity it has, and occasionally (every month or two) you'll need to charge it to 100% again to "reset" the "memory" of the battery. So Apple already made software to automatically do that without disabling the 80% limit.

    • @miked6097
      @miked6097 Před 7 měsíci

      @@nutzeeer look it up and read about how they work. It’s about the charge cycle. How the ions go back and fourth inside the battery ect… there are other videos that explain it, Payette forward put one out explaining how a LI Ion battery works and its very easy to understand the way they explained it. I’m not sure which video it was now. It was a while back but if you look up battery videos eventually youll find it. Another guy put out a video on it as well not someone I follow I forget his name but they are there. Check it out. He explains its on the inside of the battery it has multiple “cells” where old batteries didn’t. They have to complete a full 100% loss, if you use 50% from The first 100% and charge it back to 100, the first 50 you lose now (after the recharge) will be counted with the remaining 50% from the original 100% charge. Lol I don’t know if that makes sense to you if not sorry. So 100%-50% half a “cell” charge back to 100% use 50 more that would be the one cycle. Always has to complete a full 100% loss. Hope it made sense. Lol. Stay safe!!!

      Been plugging/charging my iPhone7+ after work & all night to 100% for close to 6 years and only recently found that the battery was draining a bit faster...so to me, it does not worth the pain to go through all this stuff...and after 6 years, wee, its time to upgrade (got an iPhone15). I got to say though that I'm not a super heavy user...no gaming, not taking pics everyday, get/place few calls per days, 3 videos TEAMS meeting per weak, i do use different type of apps apps alot thought (Outlook email, calculator, chats, camera video access, banking, stocks...). So yeah, someone that uses its phone like I do should not bother with all this battery stuff...unless you want to keep your phone for 10 years! Because optimized charging is to prevent prolonged charging at 100% and not to prevent charging past 80%. I have commented on this above. As far as I know it takes a few days for the programming not to learn when you will start using the phone again but once it has „learnt“ it will be at 100% for this time. I also read that this function only works when you are in locations where you spend a lot of time…like at home or in the office… but not when you are traveling.

      @@awinkc2338 ALL my devices I use dark mode. Saves your battery when unplugged and also the bright white background Annoys my eyes and brain. The white screen is burning energy of your battery. So on battery power think about it. I also like the look of dark mode personally.BUT use whatever you prefer of course.

      @@zaidhasankhan3742 OLED is great. The tech isn't fine tuned yet though. That's why Mac isn't fucking with it yet. Trust me. My close friend who works at Apple mentioned this to me. Once Apple dials it. Shit bro its game over for the PCs and androids. When Apple isn't doing something every Droid and PC does. There's a very good reason for it.

    I don’t see anyone saying this, but your using your hands too much. Yes use your motions. But not with every word you say.

      I can't stand youtubers who talk with their hands, it's so annoying. It always makes me not watch the entire video

    Bro a lot of these comments are wrong you can charge from 0 to 100% you don’t stop charging at 80% also wanted to add that the optimization for the battery means your iPhone will charge from 0 to 100 then by the time you wake up your phone will automatically charge to 100% so no it’s not bad and also you can use your phone when you’re charging it smart phone technology has gone a long way since the old days a lot of this is just a myth what you were talking about
