I hope you find this guide helpful... and a HUUUUGE shout out and thanks to Urban Drivestyle for the loan of the amazing UNIMOKE for the day. @@williamsmart5865 William! Thanks for watching and enjoying... Truly horrendous experience that "shopping centre". Been a hell-hole for YEARS. Embarrassing. Have a great weekend, roll on 2021!
Top notch stuff on your channel! Cheers
I can feel the heat in this video ☀️ 🌞 👌
I sweat for my art, Niamh! (it was baking when I filmed most of this... I'm too pale for filming in these conditions lol!)
I was there on my 50th birthday- I left my heart there I need to come back and stay for the rest of my days- I live in cold Canada - If God's will I will be moving soon there-First time I visited Spain when I was 19 years old and since I am in love. I left Bosnia during a war and landed in Canada. In the last 15 years I visited Spain every year and now I am 58 and I need to be in the arms of beautiful Spain forever.
Boriss! Thanks for the comment. Spain awaits you! Also, where in Bosnia are you from? I've been around a lot of the country. Love it very much.
🤣🤣 had me and the Mrs in stitches 🤣🤣 🍻🍷🍻🇬🇧
Gavin! Cheers mate, next part coming soon. Have a great weekend (I'm personally quite keen to have a drink after a long week in the gym trying to shift some of the COVID lockdown kilos... brutal)
Great thanks I am going to Palma on the 7th till the 14th staying in the old town loved your guides we stayed in Palma in 2017 can't wait to get back and guide has given us ideas to see do and visit. Keep up the excellent 👍 work

I’m glad someone finds me funny! 🥹😂
Please keep doing more of these fun, informative and genuine videos! My brother lives in Mallorca and works in the ships industry and he laughed so much; he says that the yatch and matcha tea thing is so true!
Alfredo! Thanks so much, glad you're enjoying them! Haha, I've got a few mates on boats, the matcha tea one was inspired by a true story... NUTS. Take care - the weekend is here!
Loved the humor in this! "The Romans placed Palma close to the airport:" 😂😂
Thank you for appreciating my appalling humour.
Hey, enjoyed the video. Coming over for 4 days mid February. What with Covid and everything are their still plenty of restaurants etc. Still open?
I was lucky enough to visit Palma in the early 80s when I was in the Navy ! Such a beautiful place !!
Mike, sorry for the delayed reaction! Wow, would have loved to have seen it back then in the swinging 80's!
very entertaining youtube tour. thanks.
Andrej, sorry for the slow response. Thanks!!
Visiting Palma, Mallorca soon! So, good to know some parts to visit in the city
Bon appetite
Enjoyed watching this, Ruairidh. Loved the level of detail you gave. Looking forward to part two. Xx😘
Thanks June! Next one coming soon :D
Oh my god the whole thing was hilarious 🤣🤣
Thank you Mrs Smith! XX
This seems to be a very charming place, I hope I can visit in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Hey! Palma's a beautiful city with lots to do. I highly recommend a visit!
great video !😍
THANKS!
Thanks for the videos. Travelling to Palma today, going to try the bike ride along the coast from one of your vids. Will be one of the slow ones you overtake on the cycle lane.. 👍
James, sorry for slow reply. How was the trip?
@@RuairidhMason thanks Ruairidh. Yes a lovely town. Went to Nano cycles but they had run out on the Sunday of bikes so walked along the coast....also Soller train and to the Port which is rather nice. Would like to go back. Some random pop/rock in Palma was playing on the Sunday by the catherdral which was quite cool 👍
@@RuairidhMason and don't worry on reply, the videos are good enough. Just wanted to say my appreciation. Thank you
Nice video 👍🏻❤️
Thank you!!
Hi - love the videos and your local informative view and commentary- 2 days left and looking for the vermouth bar you wold recommend?? Alhambra looks to be closed on Sunday!
In Palma? La Rosa!! 100%. Other options: La Gloria (Portixol) and La Chica (Santa Catalina). Our favourite is La Rosa though, hands down.
Thanks for the recommendations, the night is young and we got crossed up in the water fight between Montague and Capuletesque soo …. WET ? ? Great atmosphere ……
Good evening mr mason smashing video as always mate great city palma great buildings as well and a great atmosphere anytime im there in all of the 35 yrs iv been cuming to palma (was 2 when i started flying )NOT😂iv never been in the cathedral but if the priest started pulling pints id be there mate 😂🍺looks stunning inside and the weather still looks good as well but what a shame about the underground shopping centre what a waste better turning it into a car park looking forward to part 2 pal enjoy the vermooth and tapas over the weekend take care 👍🍺🛵
Robert! Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed. Cathedral bar would be a welcome addition haha! Weather still nice, couple of stormy days, but blue skies today. If I can get my arse in gear I'll go make a video. Have a great Saturday with a pint or two of something tasty... Cheers!
Cool
Why thankya sir!
I could do without all the satire and sarcasm.. But I'd rather not! Thank you for keeping it fun. Sub +1!
Thank you, Hare!! 🤣🤣
Another fantastic video - made me laugh! I love the look of the bike you featured too. I used to live round the corner from that shopping centre under Plaza Mayor when I first moved to the island many years ago, and it wasn't any less scary when I nipped to the Euroski there especially at night. Looking forward to Part 2!
Thanks so much! Your comments were going to spam (!?) so sorry for the late reply. Yes! The supermarket from the 1980's trapped in the mall from hell from the 1970's! Truly a wonderful experience for all involved haha!
This was great! You remind me of Ian from (globe Trekker)
Thank you!
Do love your videos. My partner and I are Scottish, we get the humour , very funny !. We stayed in Crestatx Alcdia/Pollensa in 2011 for 9 months. We never went through to Palma but I was there years back. We are hoping one day to retire to Mallorca, so your videos are def encouraging us to explore there, Keep the videos coming R. Take Care from Southern Ireland ( long story) . I will leave it there. I could go on and on . BFN x
Muriel! Thanks so much, really glad you enjoy the vids... What was it like living over that side of the island? I have to admit my dream is to disappear into the more remote Mallorca, never to be seen again! (except on CZcams that is haha).
Can you suggest which part of island is best to stay
What’s the weather like in February? Thank you!
It should be quite cold and raining!
Great sense or humor. Catching up on all your Mallorca content. Subscribed from New York.
Awesome, Rico! Thanks for watching... Jealous! NYC, what a place :D
Espectacular!
You are brilliant!!! Do happen to do tours of Palma!?? Stand up comedy… crazy funny… well done!
Pam! You're too kind [blushing]. I do not do tours of Palma, but I did, in another life, do comedy / history tours of Edinburgh!
Well you should still be up there on stage! We are visiting Palma September 15th for about a week.. coming from Palm Springs. Thanks for the great laughs and super tips! Keep it up👍😂😂😂…. Seriously…watched your videos several times! Shared with travel buddies… 🤣🤣
And we are staying in the old town area.. any favorite bars or restaurants? Cheers!
@@321hair Essential: Reserve a table with good adavnce notice (couple of weeks) at La Rosa Vermuteria, dinner or lunch. We go there about twice a week when we're in town. Also, you must try a "vermut de grifo" (vermouth on tap). It's the done thing there and a great aperitivo. Everything on the menu is fantastic, you can't go wrong, and it's average priced. We also love just hanging out in the bar area there (where you can also eat), but you need to go at a weird time - 4 or 5pm - otherwise it's super busy.
For a drink we also love Bar Flexas, the terrace at Gibson Bar, Assaona down at the beach for sunset (bit pricey, but lovely vibe in summer)... and also, check out Santa Catalina market on a Saturday around 12:30/1pm. Good atmosphere, eating, drinking, etc!
Hilarious! Watched several times as we will be there next week! Thank you!
Wow, a fantastic, information-packed funny content, shame about the 20k views in more than a year, you deserve way more. CZcams algorithm must hate you :)
Haha, thx. Channel is for fun, so no big deal about the views!
Super cool and informative video, personality of the guy slightly annoying but overall great
😂😂😂
LIKE 👍
THX!!
Nice video. What sunglasses do you wear please ? :)
Hey! Thx. They were from a small company called 'My Uncle' in Palma / Ibiza... but it seems they don't have a website or instagram anymore?!
@@RuairidhMason thank you.
Me encanta no veo mejor 💙🇪🇸
Bahar! Exactamente! Un sitio muy bonito :D
Vamossss
Beunas diassss
Hello, we are going to Palma next September, do you know where I could rent an e-bike to do something similar? Thx.
Hey Charles, I’ve seen quite a few places around Palma renting e-scooters and bikes, etc. I had an awesome time on my loaned Urban Drivestyle bike though and would massively recommend. I believe they rent out of Playa de Palma, so not in the city. But, perhaps there is an agent or company handling them in Palma. Shoot them a message and ask. Great fun transport and built like a tank!
@@RuairidhMason I will check with them, seems like a lot of fun. Thanks for the videos! I really enjoyed them.
@@charlesromney Thanks for watching! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful with specific companies... There are multiple in Palma though, renting e-scooters and e-bicycles. Enjoy the trip!!
You’re so funny 🤣🤣🤣
Maria, you're too kind. I spent literally minutes writing these jokes ;)
Highly recommend visiting Palma de Mallorca. Have been there a few times. One of my favorite places on the Mediterranean.
It's a cracking city - love it.
what about Greece@@RuairidhMason
what about Greece@@RuairidhMason
500 years to finish building n six months to take their tools...I just spat me coffee on myself laughing 🤣🤣
You're the one laughing!! I knew there had to be someone ;)
:-)
Me and the missis love your reviews Ruairidh. Your honesty is very refreshing, not only about the places you visit but yourself too. You're definitely a natural at this sort of thing.
Absolutely love Palma de Mallorca. It makes me laugh when I listen to our local radio station and they describe Nottingham as the greatest city in the world! It's very nice, (if you can avoid being shot or mugged), but it can't hold a candle to the Balearic capital. I've not been to that many European cities, but all the ones I do visit get compared to Palma. They never knock it off its top spot, even the mighty Barcelona! The only thing that I would change is the bloody graffiti everywhere. I absolutely hate it, in particular, the random 'tags' scrawled everywhere.
Anyway, looking forward to Part 2. All the best mate!
Chris! So glad you're both enjoying the channel... makes all the work very worth while. I think there's WAY too much BS in the "travel" genre online (CZcams, Instagram). I very much appreciate an honest blog post or recommendation when I'm on foreign soil - trying to do that, without being overly sarcastic / daft / mean for the sake of it, and being entertaining... still trying to find my travel vlog legs! I'll get my groove over time, certainly not going anywhere. CZcams is the present and future... And yes, the "graff" is pretty rough here. Local government don't really understand how to deal with that stuff (same like skating and all that street youth culture)... they just keep painting over it - i.e. creating a blank canvas for the next dude. Give the kids a dedicated space to paint, encourage their creativity / spray can workshops, etc, but tell them that it all goes away if unless they keep it in their "space". It would save the local council a fortune and would create a pretty exciting urban gallery... Just an idea, but they've done it in Vegas years ago, where I used to live, and it worked amazingly well. Tagging died very quickly in the Downtown area... Have a great weekend, folks! Drink too much! (Sorry... "don't"!... forgot that bit).
@@RuairidhMason I agree what you say, and that's a great idea about the graffiti wall. I'm actually blown away by the artistry and creativity of some of the scrawls, I even have a couple of books on it. Just those 'tags' plastered over any spare bit of wall or door or whatever really let a place down and makes it look uncared for. I hope when all this COVID nonsense has died down, Ajuntamento de Palma de Mallorca can invest a little to tidy this beautiful city up!
Stay safe mate!
@@chrislox1 Yeah, tagging is a pretty awful practice, ruins these lovely old streets. I have a lot of ideas for Palma, and that bloody shopping centre too! Hopefully they don't just make it more parking... Have a good one mate!
Loving the phoney Scotch accent. It’s like Mrs Doubtfire with a speech impediment.
You got me! I’m Chinese!
You funny 😂 by the way. Do you think is wise to rent a car in palmer ?
Is this the Love Island narrator?!
I WISH $$$$ ;)
Does anyone have any recommendations for apps / instagram pages to meet people? I’m solo travelling and I’m going soon!
I believe FB is quite good - Mallorca Expats and also meetup.com:\
www.meetup.com/es-ES/mallorca-international-friends-group/
Please make them longer and take your time to walk around and show more of the island , thank you ..
Lennox! Thx for the feedback! I'll take it into consideration in the future. Take care mate!
How is the atmosphere in the middle of Covid?
Eward! Thanks for the comment... TBH, the place is pretty dead. Palma is verging on ghost town-y, and there are a lot of business closures. Sad to see it this way, and even more sadly we're not even close to winter yet. It's going to get way worse before it gets better here.
Ruairidh Mason Very sad to hear, hope next year will set everything to normal again.
What’s it like in March/April??
The weather should be very nice towards the end of March. Not beach weather (it gets hot at the end of May) but very nice for walking and seeing the city. Often t-shirt weather in March/April. A great time to visit (also because there aren't many tourists yet)
@@RuairidhMason thank you in looking to book a 5 day trip there. Everywhere else seems expensive for kids half term but this place seems to be still okay price for some reason 🙂
Green Screen??
Haha, where?!
Tragic
Complete Empty city `
Looks boring in palma
