- It's always a good day at the Hope Chest Resale Market. Come along for a tour of this hidden gem in Cypress, Texas. Top crystal brands are on the shelf and you almost forget it's a thrift store. As soon as I walk in the door, I find lovely hand painted candlesticks from Portugal. It's keeps getting better as I shop. Will I find a Waterford hidden gem? Lots of fun with fashion and accessories. Here about how charity resale shops often get brand new products donated. This is why I love second hand shopping. I agree the younger folks are minimalist they just don't set a pretty table anymore...they don't really cook fancy dinners either if they only knew that china makes even pot pies taste elegent haha.
You made some wonderful purchases in this store. I listened to you, and I found a Waterford crystal small bowl at my local Goodwill store. If I never watched all your wonderful videos, I would have never looked at all the glass items and would have missed the great Waterford find. Hi Mary Beth! Have you ever thought about doing a show on preparing the table for a proper English Tea? Or something similar to that? I am researching proper protocols and collecting antique china and silver or silver plate to accompany. I am making antique china plate tiered serving pieces. And of course researching different recipes for tea sandwiches and delightful sweets, small fruits. I know in Germany they have their version as well. I have planned larger events for charities in the past but now just want to do my own home table scapes.
You present everything in the most entertaining and elegant way if you could do something like this I know it would be a huge hit. Would love your presentation and your ideas on this topic. Thank you for your consideration. I never miss a show!❤️

So much goes unnoticed in these thrift stores. Have a feeling the tide is about to turn.
I love both Mariposa(1987-2006) and Petite Fleur(1981-). They are so versatile with all the colours that are so mild and calm so you will never get tired of these patterns. And the price for this Mariposa set is a joke.

I had to fend off the shoppers while filming. Customers were coming in and wanting the candlesticks while I was filming. I was there first! 💪🏻

What a beautiful etched vase! At an estate sale this week I saw three Waterford flowers: a rose, a sunflower, and a tulip. They were so beautiful....especially the rose. Thank you for a great video.
Were these the long Waterford stems? I have the rose a friend gave me. Waterford also made domed paperweights with a tulip, daffodil, and rose. 🌷🌹
Yes, they were the long stems. Exquisite. $60.00 each but I didn't buy them. Just don't have the room to store them but I enjoyed them in the moment.
Ok I’m confused because there were several items you said were going home with you and also the piece at the beginning but you only showed the 3 items at the end. I finally am getting matching dishes, glasses and flatware. Most of my stuff came from trash day and is mismatched. I will never have an elegant table scape, but now I have matching dinnerware. I think your chinoiserie inspired me to chuck out my colorful mismatched junk for a blue and white color pallette.
Love the idea of a blue and white collection as a base color for your tabletop essentials. It’s almost like a neutral. 💙🤍

I have some of those Colonial Bell dishes with the bird, basket and yellow luster rims (Ohio or West Virginia), had three of them across a fireplace mantle back in the seventies. I encourage young people to collect old Ohio dishes, no longer being made in America.
Ohio glass as well and Indiana glass Pa. Glass West Virginia. So much glass in Ohio. Tiffin Fostoria Findlay Libbey and Southeast Ohio as well. So many companies at one time there were more glass companies in Findlay than anywhere else. You can always find tons of EAPG at Antique Malls. Hope you have great shopping trips.
