Nah, not even close. It's a good one, but it's hard to beat The Call in terms of quality. By no means is it a bad animation but it's far from the best that Riot has produced.

@@GrampusFlocan This cinematic was made when the "lore" of league was that the characters were controlled by summoners, aka players. Nowadays the cinematics are based on fictional writing instead of being based on the idea that those summoners exist, that's why you see Graves and Leona on the same team here. It makes no sense in terms of modern lore but back then it did.
The project animation is also amazing

Nautilus is one of my favorite champs ever, and still to this day i come to watch this for his epic entrance scene with the slow chain pulling his anchor back and resting on his shoulder

i would say, to this day since i played from S2, the best secuence wise on any cinematic from LOL would be the Darius vs Jax. The theme matches perfect and the flow of the animation it´s outstanding.

I just love how in character everyone is here, take ahri and Leo chasing Kat for example. Kat moves in an assassin way, agile flips here and there ; Ahri like the mystical fox she is, she seems to almost float and Leo is the literal tank of "if there is no way, i will MAKE a way"

8 years later and I still come here to watch this masterpiece. Not only is it of impeccable quality compared to its age, it is also the reason why I (figuratively) fell in love with Leona as a character. Always there to help others out, throwing herself in the way of danger to protect the ones she loves, she's such a strong female character, very likeable. To this day she remains my most played champion.
I'm still amazed that, during the Katarina chase, she keeps up with Ahri who's basically wearing a glorified bathrobe, while wearing plate armour and smashing through a log :))))
Most iconic and best trailer by far. Will never be forgotten. Good old times.

Katarina Hates Garen Leona's pretty tanky so she can just break through it. Ahri's really nimble and fox-like so she would jump over. And Kat is agile and has to think fast, so she'd slide under.
They put this and a lot of other little details in it to make up for the fact that they're not talking, which is really neat to me.

Arcane offers insane details about the backstory of Jinx, Vi, Viktor, Jayce, Caitlyn, Singed and Warwick. Arcane is cannon in the actual lore universe, how can you possibly say this is better than Arcane when all it encapsulates are some fights? This cinematic has 0 storytelling because it never actually happens in the League universe

captloki13 in the next 5-10 years you can bet there won't be any cinematic trailer movie, cinematics take month to make a video like this, and you can see flaws in this already. The Blizz Cinematics take 2-4 months and those are 1-2 minute trailers, making a movie would take years.

Greysterization Umm, there are plenty of fully CGI movies out there.
These trailers are made by very small crews--even Blizzard's CGI crew is only around 5-10 people--so if you make a movie, you hire more people and get it done faster. That's how it works. In the end it would only take a little longer than making a live action movie. It'd be very expensive, though.

Lukas Borck Thresh was the relickeeper of the blessed isles, being sent there because he was already kind of insane when he was mortal, so wandered the halls of the deepest dungeons of the blessed isles with a lantern, the lantern then becoming a part of his identity etc after his transformation
@Lukas Borck Jax has a lantern because its the last light of Icathia, this is quite new, so people might still think he has it because he is too good

When you think about it, this trailer is actually really brutal.
Leona gets axed through her shield.
Draven gets absolutely wrecked and mauled into a bloody mess by Rengar.
Ahri presumably tears Zyra's soul from her body and burns her to ash.
Graves shotguns Katarina right in the face.
Nautilus presumably crushes Jax.
Graves explodes himself to take Nautilus with him.
Darius gets gutted by Rengar and then gets burned alive by Ahri's foxfire.
Edit. Yeah, they respawn. Then they get to die horribly again. :P

@@chucklenuts6976 i was in middle school when i first watched this and i found it very brutal that time. especially draven and katas deaths.
Also there's definitely brutal attacks from Nautilus to Ahri 3:46 and Graves 4:09 that should have killed them. And Leona burns down Darius with the power of sunfire which is very brutal in reality. That was the real LoL once.
