Wouldn't surprise me, if a hacker, finds a way of Jailbreaking any iPhone or IPad, by way of a emulator, that allows access to the full operating system, so the emulators get full Jit support on those devices.
Just saying, iOS doesn’t allow jit on AppStore apps, can you please include this info in your next video. It’s not the only the dev, only sideloading can enable jit.
The issue with PPSSPP in iOS is not the homebrew per se, but that they have anything like built-in store. I worked in Audible and our developers had to completely remove the in-app store to keep it on the platform. Some BS on Apple's part that makes it so annoying to even mention you have a way to get anything not from them. The fact that the paid version is still there is presumably because it pays Apple the 30% they want, and they have overlooked the homebrew because of that. I am pretty sure if PPSSPP removed the homebrew altogether from their iOS app, all problems would immediately go away, unless Apple being Apple finds some other way to keep them from having the app on their platform.
They really need to allow JIT again. I get it’s a slight security concern, but it should be our choice whether or not to use it, the fact that apple keeps it off for our “protection” is a little dystopian

There used to be this bootleg fighting game disc for Sega Dreamcast that had all the Capcom classics of the era, such as CvS, MvC, SFA3, 3rd Strike and probably one or 2 I'm forgetting. I could have sworn someone took the English CvS2 text from PS2 and injected it in that disc? Am I misremembering? That disc had a lot of wizardy going on, like you could use music from the other games in any game, like 3rd Strike music in MvC for example. It’s been around forever that collection it’s still amazing to see to this day I have it as a burn disc for the OG hardware and have it on my steam deck for emudeck
Interesting, I don't think it's magic, i just think it's more of compatibility, similar source code combined with another one, and inserting features into one disc that ends up as a compilation without having to switch discs just to play the same games.
Yup, it's called Capcom Fighting Collection. It's an iso for Dreamcast with all the Vs. type games of that era. It works well too. There are a few vids with people showing it online. The English patch was already done using the PS2 English text. I guess it's ok to have it for the standalone Dreamcast import/hack disc as well.
Citra is barely even perfect on android so without jit it probably won't run well on ios. Honestly a real 3ds is still better even pn pcs 3ds has shader lags. I'd say android gets close to perfect but it'll lag later on or audio cut outs all the time. Now if there was nce or native code execution for android and iphone for 3ds it would probably be as smooth as a real 3ds.

Like I got a new 3ds recently and it's really smooth on many games but the same on android have audio lags sometimes with a good driver it won't have that much for a while but eventually there's a crash or audio starts acting up. The main advantage of citra on android is volume and sound quality. It sounds way better on my s24 ultra than my 3ds. The 3ds is low as heck and it's basically stuck on 1x res and it shows cause it looks just like 1x on my phone. 2x looks amazing but like I said I rather not have a crash later on so I think the 3ds is a much more reliable choice than the emulator. One day I'm sure it'll get more perfect tho.

dolphin still can't get on the app store because the only apps allowed to have a JIT are web browsers, but it definitely doesnt help with a lot of emulators that beg for one to run well capcom vs snk 2 is an amazing game, and i love seeing translation patches like this, even if its just ported over from the other console ports it's still fun to see those nicher/untranslated ports get more respect ctr online is extremely impressive and i love seeing multiplayer mods for old games, but i have a very strong opinion that discord servers should not be used as your only download link
A steam deck is a good place to start. Get an inexpensive LCD version and tinker in desktop mode (get a BT keyboard and mouse, too.) For the most part it's very similar to Windows, but there are a few minor gotchas that you have to get used to. Obviously, finding support for some apps and replacements will be a bit of effort, but even once Win10 "goes away" it'll still be perfectly fine for the next 3-5 years, from my experience in their other OSs all the way back to Win3.1.
@@TheRealAlpha2 already got one. I meant for the modern high graphic games since mine is nearly 10 years old. Plus all the stuff I learn on the oled Deck is the reason why I wanted a Linux PC not sure what OS I should used. My eyes are on Mint.
I'm gonna stay 10 after support ends. If devs are dropping support win 10 on future version of emulators after end of life, then I'm gonna blaming them.

I recently bought a Linux tablet and sold my Android tablet, so now I have 2 Linux devices, that and the Steam Deck, I also have Cinnamon Mint on a usb thumb drive that I can boot into if I want to
I tested Folium with an M2 IPad Pro. Some games run great like New Super Mario 2 it runs perfectly on the IPad and even IPhone's like 13 run the game smoothly. However not all games run like Mario Kart 7, it just crashes on startup. Rhythmic thief runs poorly, cutscenes are slo mo and it HEATED up that M2 chip, which means the battery gets drained quick. Also playing with Low Battery mode makes the game slow mo +sideloading the emulator is free unlike the app store.
I'm looking forward to GTA VII. I should be living in a nursing home by the time it releases (currently in my 30s), so I'll have plenty of time to play it!
It kind of sucks how fans have to resort to playing their favorite games with an English patch I just got a Mother 1,2&3 English patched game and it's great!
even with the 15 pro max folium runs horrible. if you can deal with stutters and and very horrible audio then feel free to waste your money. even in the community discord they say all you need to do is change some configs but even after that maybe a 3-5 fps boost and it stuttering a little less but still not smooth whatsoever. don’t be fooled by gameplay videos either because some videos are using JIT which boosts performance significantly.
folium is doing good "however" definitly still in development with a lottttt of controller latency cannot play nsmb2 not because of framerate thats great(On iphone 15 pro max WITHOUT jit). But because of controller latency and also the onscren controlls as of right now dont disappear and dont have a setting to get rid of it either. Do wait on folium in short its a great emulator thats a work in progress.

The dreadful RMA situation that is almost certainly at the top of the list when it comes to ASUS's reputation is enough for me to stay away from the company for any purchase at all.

Why so emulators always look better on iPhone? The developers always go the extra mile to give them a nice, retro overlay, whereas for Android it's like "Yeah well it works doesn't it?"
As I think is expected, Playing games on my iPad Pro M4, every game I tried so far plays nearly flawlessly and is buttery smooth. I haven't tried it on my iPhone 15 Pro yet, but that's up next. So far, it's pretty great. My gripes are that it only runs as an iPhone app on the iPad so you don't get the nice full-screen experience. As well, there is seemingly no in-app help. It will not play .3ds files, they MUST be .cia files.
UPDATE: Just tried it on my iPhone 15 Pro. Plays fairly decent, but audio is glitchy too frequently and occasional frame skips. So if you're desperate to play on your iPhone, I'm sure you'll get your money's worth (come on it's only the cost of a fancy coffee from Starbucks). Unfortunately there are no settings that can be tweaked that I can find to try and alleviate some of these performance hiccups.
Henry is a great guy from PPSSPP interacted with him a few times through email nothing but a classy guy. Also doesn't it make sense that Apple denies the free version and puts the paid version up and they get a 30% cut? If the free version gives Apple nothing that's the incentive for Apple to put the free one on, even though we can see that both are the same so seems like it was intentional. Both versions submitted are identical except one is paid and one is not I don't know maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist but seems like it's what Apple would want. Henry is not the type of person who probably wants you to get the free version as he's done everywhere else and if you want to support him get the paid version.
I don't understand 3ds emulation on ios ,even with jit on android emulation isn't the best least I think 3ds has quite a bit more especially since citra has been gone maybe panda3ds I'm not counting on the other 3ds emulator that hasn't even released a build
Not that good. I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max. I tried Pokémon Ultra moon, it can play but the audio chops out and running through the grass causes slow down. Definitely not the ideal way to play.
I'd just stop using the app store for emulators if I were these devs. Given how Apple doesn't support apps with JIT support, makes the version inferior to the actual app. There are other app stores for apple devices. Why sequester yourself by putting an inferior product up for everyone can see? Sounds like an extremely bad idea.

The Emulator is garbage! Paid for Nothing… on an IPhone 12 games like Zelda a Link between worlds is unplayable.. no settings menu and controls are bad! Don’t buy it!
you need a faster phone, the 12 is simply too slow for 3ds emulation. Heck, even people with the 14 pro max reported that the games run slow. The emulator might run well if Apple allowed JIT.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf seems to perform fine on my 13 mini, but it has no option to show the circle pad, only the dpad… so i can’t move 😐

Unfortunately there are no settings that can be tweaked that I can find to try and alleviate some of these performance hiccups.

Also doesn't it make sense that Apple denies the free version and puts the paid version up and they get a 30% cut?
If the free version gives Apple nothing that's the incentive for Apple to put the free one on, even though we can see that both are the same so seems like it was intentional.
Both versions submitted are identical except one is paid and one is not I don't know maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist but seems like it's what Apple would want.
Henry is not the type of person who probably wants you to get the free version as he's done everywhere else and if you want to support him get the paid version.
The emulator has quite a bit of issues, but I’m sure they’ll be patched. It seems delta and provenance are also working on adding it too

I don't understand 3ds emulation on ios ,even with jit on android emulation isn't the best least I think 3ds has quite a bit more especially since citra has been gone maybe panda3ds I'm not counting on the other 3ds emulator that hasn't even released a build

Not that good. I have a iPhone 14 Pro Max. I tried Pokémon Ultra moon, it can play but the audio chops out and running through the grass causes slow down. Definitely not the ideal way to play.

its so scary that there are too many emulators for iOS. could be hackers in there. lol always go for open source ones. Never buy products from Asus.
I'd just stop using the app store for emulators if I were these devs. Given how Apple doesn't support apps with JIT support, makes the version inferior to the actual app. There are other app stores for apple devices. Why sequester yourself by putting an inferior product up for everyone can see? Sounds like an extremely bad idea.
Sell the Apple devices aswell.

Considering the state of android emulation made me go buy a steamdeck, neither phone os is a particularly great option.
And PC is superior to android and apple when it comes to emulation. Has the most choice and most support.

You laugh, but that might actually check out. GTA5 is already rolling on 10+ years, if 6 has similar legs it might go to 2034, add in dev time and delays and 2034-38 is a feasible window.

you need a faster phone, the 12 is simply too slow for 3ds emulation. Heck, even people with the 14 pro max reported that the games run slow. The emulator might run well if Apple allowed JIT.
