My beard shape: Beard.
YES
We get it you’re manly congrats
@@kyles312 Not just that, I'm beardly.
Yeah 😁😁😁
Same
"Sorry dude. This is just not a beard. It's a garnish."
Cracked me up.
I'm still laughing. I'll probably embarrass myself in public the next time I see one and burst out laughing. 🤣
The thing is it's actually him showing off the garnish
My guy, I started to read the comments when he started with the garnish and I read your comment right as those words were coming out if his mouth
I doubt that’ll ever happen again
😂😂😂
Facts though
This guy is a God send. Whether here or on GQ, he is a great teacher. I spent over two decades in the military so I knew how to shave, but growing, and maintaining a beard, was nothing I had experience with. This dude has set me straight!
Thanks for your service 🙏🏻… and for the encouragement.
Da stimme ich Dir voll zu 👍👍👍
YES... I'm in same boat. Retired from military over 5 years ago now and still trying to figure out this beard stuff. I had a beard back before going into uniform, but my hair is much different now.
My beard is two month in now but resembles the remains of a forest fire
HAHAHA
Hahaha
Lmfao, welcome to the club
Yall are making me feel lucky. I have medium density black hair but I have disconnect between all three areas so I never tried to grow anything except a goatee or Van Dyke with mutton chops or sideburns. It recently dawned on me that if I let the hairs grow that eventually the patches will be covered. 3 months later I have a full beard at 2.5 inches. I cant wait to see what I will have in a year from now. All I can say to you is don't give up if you really want a beard. Your beard us your beard and as long as you maintain it right it will look good eventually. There us also that microdermic needle roller that they offer on this channel that works to bring out dormant hairs.
@@patriarchmike dang, im still here waiting for the hormones to kick in
I certainly ain't no man, just appreciate this guy's videos. Great quality, and clearly cares about helping men with their facial hair grooming. Legend!
Found this channel through the GQ videos, and I'm really happy I did. Very well done, to the point, and entertaining.
I’m on 8.5 years. I’ve started using Shea Moisture beard wash and oil. They work great and smell even better. I might start using a pick and/or brush. I have a handmade comb, but it still pulls a lot out.
My beard shape is homeless.
Thats what i get told by my mom and grandmas. But the women love it .
relatable
@@jeremycarpenter5550 NOT relatable
I've got a duck tail style one or as I usually call it Abraham Lincoln style which is fine, my only issue is sometimes even after using beard shampoo/conditioner there's sometimes it still likes to frizz up and get all scruffy looking and I'm not sure what I need to prevent it, like most the time it's fine but I'd say 2 maybe 3 days a week it's just sticking up like crazy.
Matty Conrad is a ‘beard’ legend. Very informative, wouldn’t expect anything less.
This is really helpful! My fiance is trying to grow his beard out but thinks it needs to be shaped so i watched a few of you're videos so I can help him out!
I recently decided to grow and maintain a beard and your videos are just perfect ty for sharing your knowledge.
Being in my late 20’s iv grown and shaped my beard in every style (except the soul patch cause as discussed it’s not a beard it’s a miss fire with a razor) but surprisingly the mutton chops and mustache combo was a favourite of everyone even if it was a lockdown experiment!
I also tried mutton chops with a mustache (and soul patch). I got a lot of compliments on it, though I did have a couple of hecklers. (You'd think people would be accustomed to all sorts of variations of facial hair by now, but there are still idiots out there.) It does require a lot of maintenance though, so I eventually expanded it to my present full beard, which I'm quite satisfied with.
Here’s to another 2 years you handsome bearded devil you!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Thank you for all this awesome info. Lately i’ve been growing out my beard and learning how to shape it myself, already got a nice clipper and now here i am :P. Subbed
Thanks for the video I've subscribe and looking forward to more episodes.
Man i love your videos. Cool, entertaining, lots of knowledge.
Thank you very much! I have a wild long beard and after watching #8 now I know what to do. Thanks!
literally my best YT channel big love to you Matty!
I love to use the shaped stubble, but now I'm on the way to tapered beard, loving it
Thanks for the info Matt
My husband has known since we started dating that I'm a beard-girl. Love them, love them love them. 17 years in and he finally suggested that I take over the landscaping! Wow! I didn't know how much I would love it! Started with your videos and it has become my every two weeks passion. Grrrrr Baby!!!!!!
Nice description about the some beards
Glad you mentioned the ducktail beard.
I only knew 6 of these. Thanks for bringing me up to speed.
Was soul patch one of them? I never thought of it as a beard
Great info Matty, love the video. As for me - Looking to do a shorter version of the Lumberjack style beard with a thinner overall face look PLUS a strong jaw line. I have the WAHL trimmer set bought at the pharmacy for about 16 bucks but does work well for me, no troubles. thanks again and keep your Great video's coming.
Thanks for the positive feedback brother!
can't get why this guy with these awesome videos just have 16.3K subscribers/followers! Keep up with good work.
Top video buddy, loved the smooth transition into selling the product 👌
It's just awesome...haha
Shoutout from the Czech Republic. I love your videos. Can you make video about daily beard care please?
I'll give it a shot!
Nice I’ll keep these in mind when styling the 7 hairs growing on my upper lip
Aiming for the duck tail. Saw your advice on the baseline earlier and think this is what I'm missing, keeping it way too close to the jawline. Great channel.
Just wanted to say that probably you will not have a lots of views... you need to be watched once every 4 weeks as every time I see your video I want to trim my beard. So authentic and natural. I would be a much more happier man if I would watch you earlier. =) I am happy that you started your own YT channel. Keep it up and do not stop!!!
Excellent video. Highly informative.
👍
nice! I was curious as to what the different styles were actually called . I keep a full beard at medium length and bring it to somewhat of a point so mine would be considered a "dovetail" style I suppose. I always have just trimmed it that way because I like it to have some length but not get too unruly or wide.
Somehow a different Matty video came up on my recommends.
I decided to watch this one, even though I can't grow anything on my cheeks. Then, he gets to "The Goatee"! I'm not left out!
I cut my husband's hair, and he has grown a beard. I have not been the biggest fan of facial hair - I miss his face! But, we watched a bunch of your videos last night, and I trimmed his beard today, and DAYUM he looks delightful. Thank you for sharing your magic.
I can't let my beard get much longer than four inches because of my job, but I love the way it looks when I handlebar my mustache.
Whoa, 😳 sir you are the 'Beard man'' or the 'Beard legend' your style and performance with them clippers and Sheers is amazing. I'm very impressed 👍 thanks for sharing... "what an awesome gift" thanks again. "Mahalo NUI from the state of Idaho".
Great tutorial. Thanks beard whisperer!
Great vid.
This is a great video to figure out what you want for facial hair and what type face shape you have.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very informative indeed. Keep it up
This video was super entertaining!
I would have title it “ The University of Beards” . I don’t believe it could have done better. Truly condensed, poignant & personally perfect.
Waiting your GQ process :))
Awesome video !!!
Great video Matty 👍
Thank you for watching !
I keep my full beard tight, mainly because my head hair is so thick I don't let it grow out too long, and having a beard means I don't keep it as short on the sides as I normally prefer. I alternate between full beard and goatee when I get bored with one style. It's fuller than it used to be as I get older, but now my beard is more white than my head. All the red hairs I had on my head went white, and my beard seems to have had most of them. Not having to shave as much is a big plus.
Great info and advice, as always. Many thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
@@mattyconradgrooming Very helpful to know what beard shape suits certain face shapes. Much appreciated.
I currently grow a long beard, but debating on switching to the full beard instead. I have the capability to grow an awesome mustache, and it think it would compliment better with the full beard over the long.
Awesome video! When will you get your beard brush back in stock?
would love a video on how you cut/do your hair bro
Bro the "cool hip youth pastor goatee look" had me rollin, my youth pastor had a goatee and raced sled dogs, I immediately thought of him when you said that.
Love the advice and attention to the details you provide. In addition to the beard I'm also a hat guy, what are you sporting??
Thank you so much sir
the lumberjack
Enlightening discourse. Thanks...
For all the early 20-somethings. I didn't start growing an actual beard until my late 20's. It will be ok 👍
I see why I have a full beard now. I had almost a full mustache in 4th grade 😂😂 I did nothing but shave because my beard and stuff would come in like crazy. Now I am letting it grow and it’s the best choice I ever made. All those years of shaving my face clean paid off.
The funny part about the soul patch section is that the image of the guy with the soul patch is Matty himself! So he's basically dissing himself lol!
What a sport! Solid dude, great knowledge and great sense of humour!
Hipster youth pastor, that's gold!
Thanks for the tips in this video
Thanks I just started growing my beard out so I’m learning a lot
Nailed it! And a cool apron btw.
Thank you! It’s from www.victorybarber.com
Yes very hip to complement his darling little hat.
Thanks for the video
And thanks, algorithm 👍
You are the Beard Man, Matty! You really know your stuff. Your advice and descriptions are on point! Thanks for all the lingo and skill set that a great beard MUST have!
Da stimme ich Dir voll zu 👍👍👍
My husband has a beard.
It hasn’t made this list though. I _thought_ the Captain Birdseye was an actual style.
It really suits my husband, although I know he will look 100% better once the barbers open for proper beard grooming again.
I’ve had a full year of trying to keep his hair and beard looking tidy and presentable.
Is there a point or a conclusion to your comment?
@@imarchelloshe just told us about her experience that‘s it. It‘s ok and actually sweet of her.
Great content and that hat is cool bro.
Alright, but would you recommend the hair tonic from Red dead redemption 2? I'm starting to think to try it because of my weak facial hair growth
Just as long as you don’t expect it to grow overnight like in the game
Your video quality is top notch every time
not bad for a tripod and a backdrop 😂
I like your videos matty keep up the great work
Thanks! Will do!
My beard is alot like yours, except I don't shave my neck. I haven't shaved sence 1980. I did just take about 9 inches off. It got to be a pain in the butt having it that long. I do like your video and thank you.
Great video and beard
You earned a subscriber with the soul patch! Or I mean why of course why. Great video!
89 thumbs downs from Ted Nugent and his fans.
Hi Matty can you do a video explaining how to get the the Brogue
Great.thank you for video...
I love the Duck tail. But the Gerabaldy is awesome as well
I've tried the mustache alone and the goatee but i think the full beard suits me better
Great stuff and LMFAO multiple times. Love the "old west saloon bartender" - who doesn't want to be that!!?
Thanks for watching!
Goatee style with connected mustache..only my beard is 7" long so far
Very informative 👍
The "Probably YAll knew That" made me suscribe though🤣...i dnt knw why i find this so funny
Thanks!
Would love to see a video on going from medium length to longer beard....
I currently have the lumberjack beard but am aiming for it to be the long beard.
love it like your hat also
No.4 is Comstock from Bioshock Infinite lol
I had mine longer than I've ever done, but didn't know what I needed to shape it and maintain it. And so I had it trimmed as I got my hair cut, I have oil, shampoo and conditioner and a new trimmer as I only had a hair clipper. But got everything so going to grow it back
im going for the long beard but with the full beard/lumberjack styling. im about 3 months away from the Yeard and am really seeing great shape now instead of a wild looking mess.
That’s awesome... the long beard has a fairly significant awkward phase. Bravo for staying the course
Well said my dude.....
I finally get to start growing my beard out again as we get closer to dropping the mask requirement at work at work. Just starting the build up to my lumberjack style!
Looks to me like you have an echo an echo
@@kevinperkins2438 Sounds like he does he does…
@@jaycarter990 @Kevin Perkins Lumberjacks work in pairs , they're both at work at work
My beard shape: A 13 year old mustache and blonde baby hair everywhere else
Thank you for making this video! How can figure out what kind of face shape I have?
I've never heard the phrase "training beard" before. I like it.
I want a video on how to do The Brogue.
#8, full beard, will always be the best.
Danke!
None of these are less maintenance. After trying to keep after the thing most of 2020 and up until a month ago, I got tired of all the extra hassle and just shaved it all off. I've learned to like shaving, especially since I'm down to twice a week now.
Thanks now I know what I want
I have a ridiculously pronounced French fork and at first I hated it but now I'm appreciative of it since I grew out my mustache
Nice presentation.
I like your overalls/bib! Where can I get that?
Currently have a "brouge" I just keep my beard short or at stubble length and let the stache grow
amazing video dude i want more tips im struggling to try and get my beard perfect myself because i lost my local barber he moved away im 22 and still growing but i can get good growth these videos have helped alot because your confidence behind what you say ensures me, im curious how long did it take you to use both hands im struggling using my left hand shaving

“that cool hip youth pastor look” lol
