If you watch the newer Suicide Squad Waller talks about Idris Elba's character being in prison for shooting Superman with a Kyrptonite bullet. My guess is her group saved Superman from it, and thus he owes her a favor. She references calling in a favor before Supes shows up.
Also in Suicide Squad post credit scene when Bruce talk to Waller he said they should shut down the program cause him and his friends will do it for her.
This actually makes sense as Supes would never work for Waller.

I enjoyed this movie. I didn’t have interest until I found out he was fighting so hard for Henry.
Saying that Henry was notorious for not liking Zack's vision for the "darker" Superman is untrue, Henry understood Zack's vision and that they were both working towards a more hopeful Superman after he experienced some trauma/turmoil.
Doctor Fate is way more powerful than Dr. Strange. In all aspects.

Actually cavill did like zacks take on superman especially man of steel . I think the critics and fans pressure got to him especially after Batman v superman . So he didn’t want to make superman darker again like he was in BvS . But he has supported zacks original plan for him he just wanted to explore the more beacon hope side before his fall to Anti life . However since Zack is not coming back under gunns 10 year plan . That is all out the window so now we’ll get an experienced veteran superman .
Cavill has said that he is fine with Sperman being dark. He just wants a hopeful and fun Superman movie first. He wants to show the good side before going Anti-Life and then the redemption. From a lot of interviews, you can kinda see that Cavill wasn't too happy with BvS. Not necessarily because it was dark but because it wasn't about Superman in his eyes. It was about Batman and the world, and how they SEE Superman.
No one said Zach Snyder is gone. Zach has a deal with Netflix so he is contractually obligated to refrain from speaking about anything he is working on that isn't related to Netflix, but that doesn't mean he isn't working on anything else it just means he can't talk about it, but after that contract expires it's free range for him to come back and it is pretty likely that he will come back because Zach Snyder and James Gunn are pretty close friends.

Henry cavill never said he didn't like Snyder's version of his Superman. In the contrary, they are steps and experiences Superman had to go through to become the Superman we all know.
The kid (Amon Tomaz) in the comic becomes Osiris, who's sort of like the captain marvel/shazam jr. They switched it up a bit in the movie where he is the son of Isis instead of having him be her younger brother.

Dr. Fate being a Lord of Order I think would trump Dr. Strange's Sorcerer Supreme... but I have to imagine there are versions of Dr. Strange that are more powerful throughout the multiverse.
Strange supreme is pretty nuts. There was one where he learned a language of extradimensional beings that each could only speak one letter (of hundreds), and he could basically speak entire realities into and out of existence. It was barely enough to fight the crazy bs he did that for, and kinda flashpointed the universe for a while I think.

@@RapperDavid strange supreme was so powerful when his universe collapsed he was fine- not just fine he couldn’t die if he wanted to. He nearly solo-ed someone with all the infinity stones. And he can only continue to grow in power to respond to the level of threat necessary. But there are far stronger stranges, that’s just the one we saw on screen.
Besides they are very different characters. Dr Fate follows the rules in creative ways, and Dr Strange breaks them in creative ways. The results and characters are massively different. Magic+doctor is about all they have in common.
Besides if you want to actually look into it they have had crossovers with each other before.
Edit: if I was writing strange supreme into the multiverse era, I’d have him break into his old timeline and cause himself to go down this carefully controlled path to make a hero strong enough to face the shit that’s coming. Including killing Christine over and over.
I think the important difference is like Superman Dr Fate can sometimes be too powerful and too beyond the pale to be interesting. It just comes off as weird when basically any problems people think up are the ones that are difficult for him to overcome. Just like most DC characters.

Also just to say, thats not his base, thats him confronted with insurmountable odds- Strange Supreme fought multiverse destroying Ultron Infinity. In terms of what their foes objectives are.. very similar he just actually beat him lol.
And all that does is reinforce the idea that when he is that strong just to start, it’s very uninteresting, unexamined, uncreative. He’s strong because he is. Not because he had to build his body over centuries with dedication to acquire the power to deal with something. It’s supposedly why people like Batman, though frequently he’s just the same Rig Veda “and he was prepared for that too” bs. There’s good stuff to these characters, describing them as good or better because they are strong without trying or having to be overcome odds just means when confronted with the unknown they’ve never had to adapt or be tested. It’s like those times superman first fights something that challenges him, and for no reason he’s apparently proficient at using the super strength his body and mind weren’t designed for in a completely different fighting style with a perfect knowledge of his limits, it’s almost a story but instead it’s a myth- only valuable cause other people also remember it. And I know Fate has been challenged which is why I know that’s a mischaracterization or a skimped out explanation for what could have been good storytelling lol.
Sure he probably is stronger, but if he never was challenged past his limits he’s only as strong as we have already seen him. And once again Strange Supreme is not the strongest version by far, and the other versions were also just confronted by insane challenges and bound multiversal entities to fix reality as a god. But if we are being honest most reasonably powerful characters have their crazy arc, like when Moon Knight took over the world, became Iron Fist, Black Panther (kinda), could use Mjolnir, had the Phoenix force, and Ghost rider’s car all because a bunch of mephisto’s were hopping around the timeline and Khonshu was going mad about his vision of the future.

Whoever told you, gave you wrong information, you should've watched Black Adam after Aquaman and SHAZAM movie, there's also Suicide Squad 2 movie which has direct connection to it taking place before this movie. There are charcters from that movie and Peacemaker series here. You should have watched those first.

@@iamBlackGambit some characters need context for their climax. Or characterization beyond the last 3rd of their arc without any other context relying on you to just osmosis 50 years of comics history by cool visuals.
That doesn’t mean it has to be a prequel though it would mean DC would have to not shove 3 stories worth of shit into every movie to actively undermine the narrative development of basically every character, and care more about getting to a singular line, beat or slo mo sequence rather than developing scenes that have any room to breathe at all.
It was cool. I just wish anyone had the time to establish themes or motifs to let the movie have a message besides- sometimes we need a person with anger management issues to kill demons. They were there, but more like puzzle pieces piled up and glued together rather than a completed puzzle for the audience (or even just the outline of one for us to fill in blanks ourselves)

When it comes to films based off of comics, the opinions of critics has never mattered only the fans and the actual audience of filmgoers opinion ever really hold weight in deciding if a particular film will be successful or not. Also I would certainly enjoy seeing a return of all the previous actors that have become the face of these established characters within the DCU with exception to Ezra Miller that is because as far as I'm concerned they could bring in Grant Gustin to play the Flash for the remaining live-action films they intend to do.

Dr. Fate taking that damn helmet off pissed me off more than it should have. Young Justice made me appreciate how u couldn't take off the helmet unless he allowed it
interestingly enough, in the comics the kid Amon becomes the hero Osiris and the mother becomes the heroine Isis and they are Black Adam's adopted family (like how Billy Batson adopts his family to become the Shazam family). There's a storyline where the kid Amon (as the hero Osiris) is killed by magical villains that Shazam failed to defeat, and therefore kindle rivalry between Black Adam vs. Shazam. That could be the direction of Black Adam 2 or Shazam 3, but of course there's also the route of Shazam joining the Justice League and as Black Adam fights Superman he calls for Shazam's help to defeat Black Adam. Those are two ways i can see the DCU move forward to pit Shazam against Black Adam in a movie.
I hope all of that happens.

The Black Adam getting old and dying instantly is from the lore where Adam was banished across the universe and he LIVED the 5 thousand year time span, which meant his immortal body as Black Adam was 5,000 years old and when he reverted back to Teth Adam, all 5,000 years hit him instantly, whereas in this one, he was imprisoned and therefore he was the same age when he was freed as when he was jailed.
I imagined Zachary Levi and Henry Cavill VS. Dwayne Johnson in the future DC film.

Dr. Fate is ridiculously powerful. Dr. Strange is a brilliant sorcerer, but Fate is a capital-G God. Strange would only stand a chance with the helm's intelligence/Nabu out of the picture. Then he'd probably win against any host but Kent Nelson or Zatara.

Thank you for sharing your reaction to "Black Adam" with us. I am very sad that the film got such bad critic reviews. Yes, the film is not an Oscar-worthy masterpiece, but the film knows how to entertain without having to think and analyze much. In my opinion, anyone who expected anything different from a Dwayne Johnson film is pretty naïve.
It makes me even sadder that many of the so-called "real" DC and Snyder fans boycott the film and denigrate it. That only hurts the whole DC universe, which is being rebuilt by James Gunn now.

In the comics Black Adam shares his powers with the mother and the son (although in the comics they are brother and sister.) She becomes Isis and he becomes Osiris.

The logic I heard about Dr. Fate vs Dr. Strange is Fate’s power comes almost entirely from his helmet, but Strange doesn’t have a spot like that to target. Strange would just need to find a way to separate Fate from his helmet

He still can't defeat fate the helmet can just come back to him also fate has superhuman strength and his own magic also fate has telekinesis which fate can use to take his helmet from strange when strange removes it.

Using Christopher Reeve's Superman theme for Henry Cavill's cameo when his theme by Zimmer is so iconic and a big part of his identity infuriated me, that was a bad move from whoever decided this ^^
They used it because they only had a few seconds.
Yeah I wasn't a fan of that. However it was subtle enough to not put me off entirely.
As a collector of soundtracks, I don't think I would have even recognized it had they used the Zimmer theme. Not everyone is as familiar with the Zimmer theme as some others are. The Williams theme had 44 years to get into the heads of audiences. Seems pretty cut and dry to me. 🤷🏼♂️

You must a pretty crap collector. Because the MOS soundtrack is amazing. And theme easily recognisable. We heard a rendition in ZSJL.
And despite what anyone thinks about the John Williams theme, it's not appropriate for that interpretation of Superman. They tried it in Josstice League. It was crap then. And it's crap now with Black Adam.

I enjoyed the film and thought it was well done. Granted I'm not as familiar with adam as other characters, so I'm mildly familiar with his story. But it was a good movie. I still see fb posts saying it was a flop.
