@@m3zuss I had a AD Top Varus instead of Radiant Tank against Opponent Ornn and went 2/9/6 in my own Emerald III who went 8/3/11. As Ez I went fine in lane against Xayah 2/2/3 she went 1/2/5 at 14min and my Varus got solo killed 3 times.

I ran into a couple hearsteel ones in beginning of 2 and it was just impossible to play against especially when you have to deal with a fed alistar/vayne bot already.
Played against it earlier. It sucks seeing the damage bar being almost more magic damage than physical despite Varus building full on AD lol.
I'm assuming he also uses the item for a similar reason to barrier, to bait the enemy into a seemingly favourable situation, to then get barrier shield+400* HP from radiant, the early AR+AoE heal seems great for dives after he has poked them down to 20-40% hp
I abuse thsi a lot but i play teleport and prefer to die and have tp than to live with barrier, just cant play top without tp.
Theres something going on with overheal too that midbeast didn't really cover. Half the game he is running around with a 300 hp shield which is kinda hard to build up as an ad if you aren't just leaving the wave but he's like almost instantly proccing it with the RV heal maybe?

its just probably varus pasive being too strong, with him going tanky he can stack passive with ease and kill anyone he wants, radiant is probably best defensive item for its price shrug

People don't know is that when Varus triggers Blight he decreases skill CD (IIRC for non-ultimate abilities only) which means he duels better the longer the fight goes, not even mentioning that Blight applies %HP dmg when triggered

Barrier is definitely underrated. I main Senna sup and barrier is SOOOO good if you're against a diving/assassin team. It lets you trade so aggressively in lane and gives you so much HP later in the game. It's crazy good if used well.

the rumble built standard, he needed something like a demonic embrace to have a chance to kill the varus , or maybe even liandrys sure he has no mana but apart from mana it's really good vs tanks ap mids so no reason it would be bad vs this varus build.

I think the point of the radiant virtue in this set up is to have a pseudo heal so its like he has the barrier and heal sums since he doesnt need a mythic to do damage
It's also intensely good in front to backs because you typically have at least two other ranged characters you heal in teamfights. Both of which should be as high a priority as you to kill if not higher.

Theres a lot better stat items that lean into ad and tankyness

But the ap version imo would do more in a tank build regardless

But ap has way more burst which leans into the kit a little better
Requires a lot less autos, and a lot more burst while tanky
I think AD is the best of both worlds. Going BoRK second is just too good with your innate attack speed steroid and the slow and movement speed it provides. Lifestealing while tankier is also better and you will have your base damage burst anyway. I don't think it's necessary at all to lean in to the AP ratios when W already deals % max hp damage.

Varus base AP ratios in his kit is stupid. It really should be scaling on so you have to build AP if you wanna get these massive stacks of AP dmg.

I beat that as Kat today, just steam rolled the varus. Quinn would just fuck varus top side. It works if you're not expecting varus top but if you know it is the pick is just useless

I run exhaust vs those champs since they have to auto to get in decent damage. They over extend, get exhausted and run down with the autos. You just have to respect their power spikes and don't let them freeze lane on you.
