I think Midbeast undersells Ady's mechanical ability a little bit. From videos I've seen, his movement is pretty good, dodges a lot of skillshots.

Ady alleviates the problem of having to lane vs a fed enemy laner after he finishes roaming, by never finishing roaming. Can't push a lead and deny CS if you're not vs anyone.

As a long time Rumble player this seems straight up worse than the normal build. His ults tickle.
He’s playing a tank. The power of this build is the fact that his team has no tank, so he plays tank instead. Rumble base damage is so high on Q that he doesn’t need R since he doesn’t need to worry about playing safe and pressing R, he can just walk in and Q which will hit basically everyone for the full Q and his E still has high base damage since it does 480 enhanced damage plus another like 200 from his ap with just demonic. His Q and passive deal max health damage. You don’t actually need to itemize that much AP to still deal damage, and rumbles biggest weakness is not being able to use his full Q without getting oneshot.
A long time Rumble player probably not playing in super high elo where players won't just clump up and tank your entire ult. This setup trades the ult damage for the ability to get in to melee range and survive while landing overheated autos, which is guaranteed damage you can't avoid no matter how good your micro vs. a single avoidable skillshot. Pure AP Rumble isn't even a champion with ult on cooldown.
I don't play full tank like Ady, but I've played demonic jaksho bruiser builds quite a bit and depending on the comps, the tankier build is definitely better than the AP one. The ult is obviously weaker, but you can stay in a fight longer than one second without getting popped, which is a weakness of the AP build against certain comps mid-late game. Also some comps are just harder to hit your ult with.

Ady is the opposite of baus really, baus ints for his lane with bausens law and ady ints for his team with some weird adys law like catchup xp. Gotta watch chovy to clean my eyeballs for either of them
