- Hey guys. The finale is out and my X-Men '97 1x10 Reaction is here. Amazing way to cap this season. I have very few issues but BOY OH BOY was Storm underutilized. Probably to advance the plot. But give me X-Men season 2 asap baby. Can't wait to see them in live action as well.

@@screensanctum Mother Askani from the future scene is Cable's sister, Rachel Summers. She can access the Phoenix Force just like her mom. The guy the X-Men meet in Egypt is a young Apocalypse. We're going to see his origins next season. The mid-credit scene is present day Apocalypse visiting Genosha. It's meant to assume that in the next season he will resurrect Gambit to become one of his Four Horsemen. I think vocal fans are loving the cartoon series over the live action because it's more true to the comics than the live action films have been. For example, comic fans hated that Rogue was so underused in the movies, but in the cartoon, her full potential is spotlighted. I do agree with you that Storm was underused here. I think they depowered her and had her removed for so long because she could have stopped a lot of the events from happening as an Omega level mutant. Storm has reached her full potential as a mutant in the comics where she is basically a living goddess in action and not just name.

@@DJLawrence with the purple lips holding Gambits card? I did a live stream yesterday and they told me something about Gambit being the Horseman Death or something. WOOO BABY
@@screensanctum yeah he's been a horsemen. So has Angel turned Archangel (especially in the OG series) and a few other mutants. But this is almost a definite GAMBIT IS COMING BACK

I think you're overestimating Storm's abilities, that's an asteroid falling towards earth, everyone was using their all but only Magneto had any real sway because of the metal he installed in it to control it easily. Not to forget, Storm is not ment to shine at every moment - no one is - X-Men is a team sport.
I think the lady who found Jean/Scott in the future is their daughter. I'm speculating here. Also remember Nathan got lost in time, so it's not like he went 10 years into the future to grow up, it seems he went a few centuries forward and then there you go.
Your talk about people criticizing live vs animation is X-Men was established back in the day as a bit of a soapy saturday morning cartoon - the dialogue and such was always part of the deal. Whereas the live action stuff were made to be more "grounded" and taken seriously (this is what the creators usually say) and so there's some more... idk realisticness people expect. With this - X-men'97, we know exactly what it's supposed to be (mixing in some darker/more adult themes in comparison to the previous series) meanwhile MCU and X-Men movies eventually became cheesier or whatever over time... sort of losing what it had and started to get goofier with time. That's why the differences btwn live vs animation. That's how I see it though. I tend to just take everything as is an enjoy them regardless
My main concern isn’t necessarily that storm COULDN’T do anything but that they didn’t even let her try. She didn’t even fight Bastian. Even Jubilee went one on one with him but Storm just watched? That was disappointing to me. She might not have been able to stop the asteroid but she would have wiped the floor with Bastian and maybe had time to divert the rockets.
I get that X-Men is a team but they didn’t utilize Storm at all. She got hit in episode one ONCE and lost her powers. Then the rest of the team gets lit up for 9 episodes and they keep their powers while Storm sits on the side as a cheer leader. Just a little shitty to me lol
@@screensanctum Ah, I get it. Sometimes her powers are mentioned being used .."off camera" let's say as a support role, too

@@screensanctum You'd really enjoy Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Storm's character is animated so majestically and she has great conversation dialogue with X-Men and other characters in the game. Her and T'Challa were actually members of the Fantastic Four in the comics when Reed/Sue left the team for awhile - and I think they reference that in the video game when she talks to the Thing and Human Torch.
Plus you'd get to level up Ororo's lightning and cyclone attacks so "she can do more". (Teasing lol)
