"joystick is an optional feature" LOL
Amazing how some people just have negative things to say. While I don't have eight monitors, this got me set up with 3 and playing the game again. Thanks for the tutorial.
Great explanation. I have tried a few times to get my 3 monitors setup properly, and thanks to you, I have. Just in time for FS 2020!
This is the best explanatory video I have ever seen. Thanks for doing this.
Thank you for this video. I couldnt get my multimonitor set up to work, and havent used it in years. Going to give it another go
DUDE *JUST BUY A PLANE*
I fly a plane; FSX is a cheap way to try out other aircraft.
Flying plane is bad for our economy
or buy 8 20$ monitors
Plane need fuel. This needs electricity. Much cheaper than ATF.
@@lalchandra4590 VR !!! he's using unnecessary pixel while he's never look at them at once
amazing my friend, nice tutorial...i discovered some years ago this method, but until now i had no saw any explanation about.....nice flights
Thanks mate. A great tutorial, explained very well with excellent results for someone like me who is new to multi-screen.
Thank you so much for this video! You explain it so well!
Thank you very mutch, very, very helpful.Your presentation is clear and easy to follow.
Well done..! I like the way you kept concentrated on the main things (others start a sentence, (comma) insert what the nephew did, (comma) insert what they did to the last monitors, (comma) explained why the cable adapter is expensive.... WHAT ???
Great video and easy to understand tutorial! Thank you!
The best explanation I've seen in youtube (y)
Your tutorial was awesome! Thank you so much.
8 monitor wallpaper would be amazing!
How do you save the layout between sessions? Everytime the sim resets from a crash everything disappears and resets to a single monitor.
I've never understood the attraction to this kind of setup because you have all those bezel edges interrupting the image. Seems like the best solution aside from using projectors is to get a large ultra-wide curved monitor.
Just started playing this game. This video is useful.
It's very helpful... thanks for your effort
thanks for the demo.. i have just setup a 3 monitor setup for my managers home, his son is gonna use this simulator.. however, when i start the game, 2 of the monitors are blacked out, theres nothing i can do..but..u just showed me ur trick, which am gonna try tomorrow again..i just hope this solves the issue.. thanks again
Computer Planet: Good job on the explanation on setting up multiple monitors for FSX Steam. The only problem I see is that the center of runway should be in line with Captain's sitting position either using the Yoke or Stick on AB's.
Another thing is I cannot use EZDOK on your setup.
your setup is great and i love it am on my project now making a full scale cockpit desk and your video had just help me in many ways , but how can i save this screen setup so that if i open fsx once it open all screen as saved
It looks very nice. It reminds me of the commercial flight simulators that the airlines use.
Wow i don't have 8 monitors but its good to know how to setup games on multiple monitors Liked.
Nice one bro :) I would have love to see you use 3 monitors for the display
So helpfullllll!!!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!
Love the setup, and your vid, is the easiest tutorial, I've found. Thank you so much for that. Did have a question. Once I do get it all set up. When I move my "HAT" view, to look around, only my main monitor moves, is this correct? Also, is there a way to save the setup, or do you have to duplicate monitors, and all that, every time I get on? Thanks again!!!
thank you so much !
Hey! We really appreciate your video! We just set up MS Flight Sim X Steam Version on Windows 10 with three nice curved monitors, and your instruction helped us immensely. The program sure looks great when it's set up right. Thank you so much!
This is so cool
cool video,I just subscribed
Thank you!!!
thx soo much it is reaaly good
Thank you
Thanks a lot!
Matt... once we are set up, how do you save after each flight so that the monitor configuration stays the same the next time you play this flight?
THANKS!!!
HNNNNNNG THIS WAS NICE VIDEO MATTHEW XPERIPHERAL AND YOU CRASHED, PLEASE TAKE ME FLYING FRIEND
That’s awesome
Thanks for sharing this very informative video. My question is how do you setup for three monitors for new Microsoft FS 2020 please?
Great tutorial, which monitors did you have in this vid and which DXRACER chair do you have. Thanks again for the great tutorial. Mike
How come the razer chroma X keyboard isn't available on your website I'm thinking about getting a pc soon from you and I would like to get that keyboard with the computer
And great video keep up the good work 😉
Thanks!
i loved you explanation, your way is terrific.
You can use the NVIDIA Control Panel (right click desktop) and you can set up 'Surround' which merges multiple monitors together, thus resulting in a game playable on 7 monitors without the hassle of setting up more views every time you start the game.
The problem is that the FOV is not correct in FSX. In the config file you need to change wide field of view to true and than it can work.
Which '.cfg' file is that Thomas?
@@davidwilkinson4969 Hi you can find the file in this path: "C:\User\Thomas\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX". You find now in this directory the file "fsx.CFG". Now open the file with the Editor and then you should see in the 50.row "WideViewAspect=False" set that to "WideViewAspect=True". I used the FSX SE but it should also work with the normal FSX. And now you can use 3 Monitors ore more! (I have "only" 3 Monitors)
Thanks for such a swift reply. As a result of following up on Matt's comment I have just now set up 7 monitors that give me about 270° of view. It has taken me about 7 hours of reading and trying different combinations based on the various limitations of my system and of FSX that I discovered as I went along. Now I have finished up with 4 monitors linked with "Surround" and three more separate monitors. There has been a lot of time spent trying to line up the views in the monitors but I have arrived at an arrangement that will be OK while I learn about other stuff like connecting my DIY controls and switches and getting a second PC networked for the Instrument Panel. I also tried your idea - finding the '.cfg' file as directed and altering the line relating to WideViewAspect. I didn't notice any difference. What was it supposed to do?
@@davidwilkinson4969 My problem with 3 monitors was that I only could see the hud in the fa18 and from the left to the right monitors was it like one monitor. Now with the changed "WideViewAspect=True" I can see on the monitor in the middle the instruments and the hud (like one monitor) and the monitors on the left and right they add more view. If you want could you message me on Instagram @Thomas_HD71. Then I can send you two pictures so you can see it what it does.
Amazing🎉🎉 ❤❤❤❤
Cool video. Got a question. Once all monitors are setup do you run Full screen mode? ALT ENTER?
That was very helpful, thx. Only one problem: I do not have the View option to select Left side and Right side window. There is only the option Left wing and Right wing, but these are views from the outside of the plane. Can you help me on this? Thx.
Lol this was amazing
Lol running sli in 2021 is just a dream can't get a hold of any decently powered cards for new flight sim
Once you setup the 3 monitors for FSX for the first time, when you exit Flight Simulator and re start it later on, will you have to adjust the cockpit views again to line it up with the screens properly, or will it just be saved from last time?
Yes it will save if, as you save the flight, you select the checkbox that makes it your 'Default Flight'.
Is this the same way to extract MCP displays (PFD, ND, EICAS, CDU) into separate screens in a cockpit simulator (build as a real cockpit)? Or can it be extracted through FSUIPC or other FSX interfaces?
you get a thumbs up from me man....
Time to update this with a couple of Samasung G9 ultrawide monitors and the new flight simulator
thanks for vide. Are those running on separate video cards?
Great Tutorial. However, when you reach the point where you are in free flight in FSX, pause the flight and then pull of the view menu. You have a option called "new view" on your menu that is missing on mine. Any suggestions?
Hi! my question is there any way to save the setting? instead of doing the same thing all over again for each flight
right cliikc and open the white bar on the top where it says flight, aircraft ect. hit the tab that says flight and click save flight, that should save all the sings you set up and when you want to play, you just load up the flight where all this is saved
What tower are you using for this SIM? Im trying to build mine now and I have 3 monitors and one 32IN HDMI TV for my front view. What is the tower and the cables that are needed? Thank you
Great video !!
Do I need to set up every time I play FSX ?
@7:40 clearly this guy thinks that pilots sit in the center of the cockpit
He just mixed up fighter jet cockpit with commercial jet cockpit
very nice video indeed thanks for sharing, and yes I have a question , I only have 2 monitors, I will cal it as A (left)and B (right) , I use B as a main screen, so I open a program on B monitor which is right , so I drag the new open program to the A screen which is left, but I need to drag it to the right , so my question is how can I drag a program from A to B instead of to the right but I want to drag it to the left. as the A screen is situated on my left. thanks
like the video, identify and arrange the monitors in the display setting
I need to get a setup like that
Hey, are you using crossfire/sli? When I activate it in mine, I can only use the outputs of the 1st card!
nice
5:33 It loaded ultra-fast, only a second or two! Mine takes much longer, even with a SSD. What sort of disks do you use to get that transfer rate? Some kind of RAID?
If you use two identical graphic cards, so you'll need a motherboard with two 16x PCIe slots?
i need help because when i move the mouse pressing spacebar my camera tilts, so i cant configure the cockpit
Hi, i tried doing this on my fsx with dual monitors but i cannot get the images lined up and i get two runm ways instead of one. How can i get the pilot's view on the left monitor and the passenger's front view on the right monitor but both looking at one runway?
I'm using 3 monitors but I was wandering if the was a way to freeze the views some how so I could click around the cockpit
Hi will this work if I have 2 different connection hdmi and a normal monitor lead.
I have 3 monitors and I've always wanted to do this but I did it such a complicated way I gave up. This is simple X 99999
Thanks, really helpful, ..I wonder if you can help I'm trying to set up all my saitek controls as I have bought all the display panels but some are not lighting up Mat when all connected at once, it's as if my laptop can't handle the power output with them all together but works with them a few at a time, .....does it need a desktop to power them ?but I bought my laptop for this its got all the top specks, and I seen on a saitek tutorial on CZcams them using a laptop connected to the controls panels all working to a large screen with all the controls panels lit up and working fine, please can you tell me what I'm doing wrong as I'm a cave man when it comes to this stuff, I'm hoping it's something simple, please can you help Mat?
Try a powered USB hub
why not just use the ocules rift or trinus Vr?
4:30 thats where he gets to configuring just flight sim if you’ve already configured your moniters
how well will a game like the division or games like cod or portal 2 work on multiple monitors
once i actually try loading the free flight, crashes. only using 2 monitors. I'll turn off the second one, start the free flight (won't crash on just one), enable the second one, but can't drag any undocked windows (I use the 2d panels). Any suggestions? I might just bite the bullet and go back to good ol' FS9...
Wow, I didn't know you can install more than one GPU. Makes me want to buy a second one! Is there anything special you have to do to get that to work, or do all your screens (from both GPUs) just automatically appear in Windows, just like they did for you when you checked the arrangement? 3:06
You can install more than one GPU. It used to be that you could "SLI" them, which means have them work together to render the image (But now that's considered obsolete). Basically SLI is making it potentially twice as powerful by having the cards work together, but in reality it's less than that. However if you do that, you can only use the outputs from one of the graphics cards. The other alternative is to have two graphics cards that are not configured as "SLI" and so you can use all of the video outputs (as shown in this video) but actually only the primary graphics card will be doing the 3D rendering. The other card is simply displaying output, so can actually be a much less powerful card and it won't affect anything. Due to the fact only one card is rendering 8 screens though you will find that even on FSX you will need to turn down settings to get a good framerate. On newer flight sims I think the most screens you will manage on a single GPU would be 3. Flight sim 2020 currently doesn't even support multiple monitors, so you are stuck with 1 screen.
Hi, is it possible to fix an instrument panel into a monitor permanently, so that every time I start my MSFS I don’t have to drag and fix it in the respective monitors
7:40 A pilot does not sit straddling the centre console, so he wouldn't have the cockpit centre frame right in front of his view! :-) 9:13
Can't figure out how to do this in the new flight simulator. :/ There are workarounds for a triple display okay, but having a top or bottom display (your number 5 monitor) for your 6 pack instruments... that's what I really want. Can't figure out how to do that in MSFS 2020.
As soon as I undock any window in FSX (even FMC one) and move to another monitor FPS drops from 30-50 to 1-2 fps!
Ho lee fuk, i never expected the flight sim people to be this into it like holy shit
I know this was made a while ago, but my system plays fine with 3 monitors, bought 3 more the same and FSX wont start with them, I have to disable 3, start the game, then enable the other monitors and it works great, any reaSON YOU CAN THINK OF
mY SYSTEM IS aSUSz170 PRO GAMING mb, Intel I7 6700 CPU, 32gb DDR4 RAM, 2X gtx970 graphics cards 1000w Power supply
Hi. Are your two graphics cards SLI'd together or do they run independently?
did you get an answer I'm wondering the same thing
As mentioned earlier: There is no point in having a view of the wings half way back down the fuselage from the position of a passenger.
I am not a computer garu, so please excuse my question.
Can you use a T.V in lieu of computer monitors? If so , what type of t.v?
the load time of fsx was less than 2 sec.. oh my god
Matt I have Xplane 11. Is it the same way to set it up? I have three 27” monitors and can’t figure how to set up front window and two side views. I’ve contacted x plane and they say read the manual but I might as well be reading Spanish. Can you help
I assume 2 years later you have it working, or gave up! It's fairly easy, under graphics settings you can see the other monitors there at the bottom. Just enable them, and set the offsets to the number of degrees you want to turn the view on that monitor (negative degrees is turn left)
Do you need to connect each monitor to the graphics cards? Can you not somehow use a DisplayLink and connect that to the graphics card ??
Multi screen transport using one displayport
Very good, but my opinion, maximum three monitors are sufficient. This configuration should need energy like a shower. Hahah Thanks for your detailed help.
If, when in the circuit, I judge the moment to turn on to base leg by looking over my shoulder to the airstrip threshold, that is literally what I want to do in my simulator too. It's called immersion.
Work also with X-PLANE 11 ???
Hi, I've got question about monitors? Do they need to be exact the same? Brand, producer etc?
no they do not have to be, just better that way so they look symmetrical
I am trying to connect 6 external monitors to my laptop. I am using
DVI-D dual-link to HDMI cable to connect the monitors to the HDMI
splitter and HDMI to HDMI to connect the splitter to the laptop. There
is just one problem, when I am extending the screens the external
monitors seem to duplicate themselves rather than extend. ANY
SUGGESTIONS?
A splitter wont work, that just duplicates the output. If you have a (mini) display port, you could search the internet for multi stream transport (MST)
hello how did you like that you have so many monitors i have 5 but i can only activate 4 but i also have 2 graphics cards can anyone help me please
Too crazy😂😂😂
How do you save the set up on fsx
How you connect all those monitors to the electricity? Do you have Big No Break or Big Surge Suppresor? Im trying to find a video for see how all of you connect all your stuff to the light.
I'm running 8 monitors and two PC's with yoke & rudder pedals etc off one power point without any problems
Would X plane work the same?
Did you use nvidia surround ??
im here because of the guy on the intel i7 page
