    Hey! Ur portfolio looks so good! I’m having trouble actually navigating the website and using it. The photos I add turn out weird and I can’t add text and photos together properly. Did you have a website or a video you watched that helped with that?

    • @ZoeVong17
      @ZoeVong17  Před rokem +2

      Hi Hadeel, thank you so much! I am sorry you find it difficult navigating the website! Unfortunately I didn't have a reference video when putting together the task for Manchester. Maybe try emailing the architecture school instead and see if there are alternative ways for you to submit the portfolio if the website isn't working for you!

    hey i wanted to ask does it matter if the work included is mostly non architecture, as i do art at alevel so most of the work i have is faces and people. I only have two architecture related pieces of work that i will include in the portfolio, and the other 10 images will be of people/faces. Does this put me at a disadvantage? as all the msa blogs im seeing online have a lot of architecture work :(

    • @ZoeVong17
      @ZoeVong17  Před rokem

      Hi Roxolana! It is totally fine! Most schools are aware that you have not learned anything about architecture yet so they are generally more interested in artwork that demonstrates skills that can applied to architecture! Examples could be real life sketching, documenting, or creating art pieces with a story behind it. Faces and people are good for showing you can sketch maybe more abstract pieces can demonstrate your story telling skills! I hope this helps!!!

    Could I ask what made you choose MSA when you got offers from sheffield, Edinburgh and nottingham?

    • @ZoeVong17
      @ZoeVong17  Před 2 lety +1

      MSA is a joint course of both UOM and MMU so I can use facilities and attend events on both sides. They have the largest architectural student society(MSSA) and the staff is quite engaging in non-academic activities as well! The rank of the school is quite high so there is a guarantee on their quality of education!

    Hi! I want to ask does all your artworks in the portfolio are related/connected to each other? Like have a story behind it? Or simply just artwork that put altogether?

    • @ZoeVong17
      @ZoeVong17  Před 6 měsíci

      Hi! My portfolio pieces are all stand alone projects but they all have a story or ideal behind them! There are no fixed rules when it comes to putting your portfolio together so you can put multiple pieces that connect too! :)

  • @wq6052
    @wq6052 Před 2 lety +2

    Hi Zoe , Omg I applied to the same schools as u 😂 except for nottingham, so far I received offer from Msa and Sheffield, would like to know more abt the curriculum and experience in Msa as I don’t know which one to decide 🥲
    And also how did u come up with the decision to choose Msa ?

    • @ZoeVong17
      @ZoeVong17  Před 2 lety +1

      The curriculum is divided into 3 units. Studio, Tech and Humanities. Studio is about design, Tech is about construction, materials etc and Humanities is about the social side of Architecture. Due to covid, only Studio is in person for now and all the lectures are online... But the learning commons and Studio spaces are open so you can work there with your group mates and friends! I chose MSA because it is a joint programme between two unis, has a good rank and also has good outputs from students which kind of guarantee their education quality. Apart from academic things, there are many events from both unis and you can participate in both of them, which is a very nice perk when compared to Sheffield haha. Hope this helps and good luck with your other schools!!!! ❤☺

    Hello I’m applying for the interior architecture MA program and I’m stuck at the portfolio but. Can I get tips on how to go about designing? Cos I’ve basically worked as an architect, and I don’t really have anything on just interior

    • @ZoeVong17
      @ZoeVong17  Před 2 lety

      I think putting projects that most convey your values as a designer will work best! But also include some pages on technical details and development!

    • @emmanuelmangai1241
      @emmanuelmangai1241 Před 2 lety

      @@ZoeVong17 yeah I thought so too but I’m restricted to 20 images. I’ve put together a couple of designs but I’ve left out the technical parts (details and design process) just cos it’s interior I’m applying to, not architecture; my other option is I submit just one project, include all the necessary details that can fit in. Which do you think I should go for?

    • @ZoeVong17
      @ZoeVong17  Před 2 lety

      @@emmanuelmangai1241 I am not sure how different the criteria would be for interior design but I think it would be better to show a little diversity instead of just showing one project for 20 pages. You can show 2, 3 projects but show just the integral parts of the design development. Good luck with your application!

    • @ZoeVong17
      @ZoeVong17  Před rokem

      Hi Zyma, do you have any artwork that you have previously created? That might be useful for putting together the portfolio! Art of any kind can be put into the portfolio! It is not limited to just architecture! The key is to show the thought and design process behind the piece as the school's lime to see that!

    • @ZoeVong17
      @ZoeVong17  Před rokem

      Hi! I think it depends on your speed, complexity of the work and how much time you have during those three months! Because I completed my portfolio while I was still in school so for the majority of the day I am either at school or doing other school work which means I have less time to work on the portfolio! But if you are preparing the portfolio without other commitments I think it might be possible depending on the complexity and your speed!!!
