- Heavy rain from a stationary front moves into the Tampa Bay Area. Fog is expected to form later tonight. Here is a long video of weatherscan from 2:45 PM to 4:14 PM. The video was supposed to be longer, but my computer froze. Sorry for some choppy frame rate at times.

I miss Weatherscan more than I could imagine. It was so informative-and at the same time, it was just great background music. Every time I went out, we put it on for our cats and dogs. Half of the day, I had it on for myself. I miss you, Weatherscan.
It's so sad seeing it go. If they ever replace it, it'll be too modern for my taste. I want it to still look crappy!

Even I miss weatherscan! It’s so hard to not see weatherscan again. Things have changed! Lots of cable providers have dropped it. The music is one of my favorite things!

Who doesn’t love weatherscan?♥️
As of late 2017, I've noticed that this video, along with other videos from around this time, have been playing back at a reduced frame rate of 15 FPS. These videos played back at the normal 30 FPS before late 2017, but for some reason have been reduced to 15 FPS. I also noticed that the videos that play back at 15 FPS on desktop play back at 30 FPS on mobile and some CZcams TV apps. Please note that this reduced playback was the work of CZcams and that I did not upload any videos with a FPS rate lower than 30 FPS. Also remember playing these reduced frame rate videos on mobile *should* play back in 30 FPS. Thank you for your understanding.
Interesting thing to note: The reason why mobile devices/TVs get the 30 FPS version is that they load the MP4 streams - the 15 FPS streams are all in WEBM/VP9, but also include 1080p playback. I checked this on my phone, but why CZcams decided to cut the framerate in half for the desktop versions, I can't even say. Sorry for technobabble :P

I've noticed this as well. Though, on m.youtube.com, the original 30 FPS version is still used. The original file was a .ts file when uploaded.

It reminds me of my grandma old small tv. When I got off from school an I had zaxbes salad it stormed in 2016 I miss the old days when I was little girl she past away 2 years ago in 2018 the year I graduated in from high school and grandpa
I used to want to be a meteorologist up until just recently, I don’t know there just isn’t really a demand. My camp friends used to call me weatherman. Loved this channel so much, every day.

Same here man. This music reminds me of my old childhood home, when my parents were still together, and all was well. Rainy summer vacation days, skateboarding all day, and hitting the beach after. I cherish these songs, because I cherish those times.

Along with getting the weather without all of the other b.s. they show on the regular weather channel, I fell asleep to this channel every night for at least the past 15 years. Then the morons at Comcast took this channel away here in Philly a few years ago. A lot of people were pissed. There was an online petition to bring it back but it never happened. Of all the terrible channels we are forced to pay for and never watch they take one of everybody’s favorite.

I know Frankfort Cable still has this channel on their lineup and it’s 2020. Frankfort, Kentucky is fortunate enough to still have this channel and they have the channel under contract until 2025. This is one of their most popular channels, I don’t expect Frankfort to take the channel off the lineup anytime soon. But Frankfort is the fewest providers right now that has this channel on the lineup as of 2020. I believe Sudden Link also still has the channel, I know a Sudden Link station down in College Station, Texas that has it.

Wow this is awesome, is weatherscan still around today? I've seen weather channels from the 80's and 90's that just play music and show the weather, but I didn't know there was a modern version of that. Is weather scan still around today? Because I get really tired of just watching the news and waiting for the weather forecast to show up, much rather just see it immediately and listen to some jams while watching.
Yes weatherscan is still around today, but on select cable providers. So many weatherscan videos on CZcams are recordings of weatherscan units that are no longer available today. I agree about the waiting for the weather on the news and how ridiculous it is without weatherscan. That was the main reason weatherscan exists, but for some reason, many of the bigger cable providers that had weatherscan thought otherwise. It's pretty crazy that many cable providers didn't care for the customer's desire for keeping weatherscan in the lineup.

I guess Weatherscan is going away soon, that honestly sucks considering Weatherscan was a way of getting weather reports 24/7 while also getting calming and enjoyable music.
I grew up with this as well, it is a shame The Weather Channel pulled the plug on it, they did state it was outdated software but its legacy will always continue.
If only FiOS could bring back Weatherscan.
