If you want a luxurious and exclusive way of getting from A to B, the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo Hatchback should be on your shortlist. Bursting with power and housing plenty of space, it’s one of the brands most practical and versatile models.
Despite this, it’s lost none of its appetite for style, and although it’s not as sharp as your typical BMW, it still feels and looks as upmarket as you’d expect. Not quite a fully fledged premium SUV, it’s bigger and more spacious than the 5 Series - but it isn’t as fun to drive.

I got my car on 20 December. It's a 630d SE xDrive GT with rear wheel steering.
After a month of ownership, I can honestly just say how sublime this car is. Enormously comfortable. Trips to the airport are no issue, luggage all fits. All other trips still have a sense of occasion and are over far too soon.
Handling for my xDrive spec, in the Welsh country roads is great. It isn't a sport car, so I certainly don't drive like it's a sport car - with my family in the car. It feels incredibly well placed on the road, even in the snow that we've had.
The rear wheel steering is amazing on tight car parks and frankly just generally tight Welsh roads with some insane turns.
The 6 cylinder engine sounds beautiful - you don't even need the Harman Kardon. The engine sounds good enough to not need a sound system.
Tech onboard is very impressive, and I've had some real world uses for the remote control parking, which is a great feature.
REAL WORLD MPG that I get is, for my first 4 tanks have been;
1) 46 mpg
2) 47.7 mpg
3) 44 mpg
4) 46 mpg
Sure, it doesn't suit everyone's tastes, which is prefect for me. In my month of ownership I've seen countless other 1,2,3,4,5 and 7 series BMWs. But not seen one 6 GT. That is pretty cool.
Before you jump on the bandwagon about "looks", go look at one in the metal in a showroom. Check out the inside and drive it. I pretty much guarantee you'll change your mind

I changed my 730D msport for a 640i GT msport, no regrets, I don’t feel like a chauffeur any more! The power delivery is seamless, the comfort is sublime and the 360 degree parking cameras mean that scraping the wheel rims is a thing of the past.

Very nice! Ordered mine - arriving around Christmas 2018. It is a very good car. I owned a 530d GT and this is even better than that

My father ordered the 640i xdrive m sport about a week ago, he was thinking of getting the coupe but the GT is much more bigger in the back and the boot

BradDaGodz surely the 7 series was within the price range of that, which is a far better option may I say so myself

Chatta290 Good point. However the 7 series gets a regular ‘boot’ rather than the useful hatch of the GT. The boot is truly cavernous on the GT - with all seats down it’s shed size!
