    The 6 Series Gran Turismo attempts to combine the capabilities of a sedan, fastback, wagon, and SUV, and it mostly delivers, but its exterior looks a bit confused. Inside, the 640i xDrive AWD looks and feels gorgeous, using a 5 Series dashboard and offering 7 Series levels of comfort and support. Tan leather, wood trim, suede-covered headrest pillows on the rear seats, and a huge panoramic moonroof make the cabin memorable. And the 6 Series includes a couple of features that are optional for other BMWs as standard equipment, but still offers plenty of upgrades.
    A single trim means a single powertrain: a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline 6-cylinder with 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque and an 8-speed automatic that sends power to all four wheels. Our reviewer strongly recommends the Dynamic Handling package, which adds an adaptive air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and Active Roll Stabilization. He also notes that BMW may currently have the best tech in the luxury segment. Read more on CarGurus: cargur.us/nl6rr

    Great review! I think this is one of the best looking cars available, next to the Audi A7 and Porsche Panamera. I drive a 3GT now, and love it. I have always liked the rare and under appreciated wagons and hatches. With 3 growing kids, we are ready for the big brother. I am 6'2" ex football player and my 16yo son is approaching 6'3". There isn't another utilitarian vehicle in the BMW line-up that accommodates, except the 7, which I don't want. I don't like suv's. And german sedans dont have room like they need, especially in back. I drive a group of 4 to lunch regularly, and need the room. American sedans are big, but that's about their only good attribute. I think BMW has listened to their customers needs and delivered the perfect jack-of-all-trades.

    Nice review! In recent years I have had a 7, X6 and now 6GT. As you say this ticks all the boxes with space and comfort galore. The 630d GT also has a great blend of performance and economy. Happy!

    Great car! I test drove this today and absolutely loved it. I currently have a 550GT and i'm looking to upgrade to a 640GT. All the things I may not have particularly cared for in the 550 GT have been addressed. This is a much sleeker car with multiple personalities on the road!

    Good review Clifford! As for the car, I believe BMW has lost its way. They are trying too hard to make cars for everyone, rather than focusing on their roots of developing true driver enthusiast cars.

    I don't think BMW could build a good looking car if they tried. I really dont get the appeal with modern BMWs. This thing is huge and frumpy. Then there is the price...yikes

  • @golfbuddy1969
    @golfbuddy1969 Před 6 lety +1

    The 3 series GT is gorgeous, but this is not. Until BMW decides to make a minivan, this will reign as the ugliest BMW. Actually, they could build a minivan that’s more attractive.

      3gt and this are very similar. The added length of this car draws out the lines and I think makes it look even better. I currently drive a 3gt

  • @nice95gle

    Life is too short to drive an ugly car. This thing is awful. Now the 6 series gran coupe is a beautiful car.
