  • Dr Erica Komisar is a clinical social worker, psychoanalyst, parent coach, and author with 30 years of experience. Erica is also a sought-after psychological consultant, bringing her expertise to clinics, schools, and corporations like Goldman Sachs.
Erica has written two highly influential books on parenting and is a media mainstay, appearing on CBS, ABC, FOX, and contributing to top publications like the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post. She's also a Contributing Editor at the Institute for Family Studies.
I asked Erica on because I was enamoured by her points of view on parenting. They seemed to stem from a place of common sense in what can be a confusing picture in the modern day.
So - it is fair to say that speaking with Erica was a special experience, she doesn’t hold back and I’m grateful for her plain speaking.

Fabulous!! She speaks my heart. I was and grew up as one such person with this 'attachment' disorder. many many years of pain, frustration not knowing what was wrong with me. God totally saved me and slowly l healed and one day God showed me and helped me understand what it was and why. Happily married for thirty years and we raised an extremely healthy son who l could rave about but l will just say l am grateful and it's never too late if you let Jesus into the equation of your life. he's he real deal and is in the business of making wrong things right. So again l say a huge thank you for this excellent and brilliant talk!!

The problem is voices for mothering is so little that you might never have heard it before you transformed to a mother.
You can’t negotiate that beforehand sometimes.

It's creepy that she thinks adolescence ends at 25. Yeah cuddle grown adults up to 25 and see what happens.
