Today, I take another nostalgic and historic memory lane road trip. In this episode, I visit the famous gravesites of two cast members from the classic western tv show WAGON TRAIN.
Frank McGrath, who played Wooster, is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California
Terry Wilson, who played Bill Hawks, is buried at Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village, California
I also remember the other central cast members: Ward Bond, John McIntyre, Denny Miller, aka Scott Miller, Robert Horton, Robert Fuller, Michael Burns and others.
Thanks for joining me on my travels on yet another trip to the past, down memory lane.

In this unappreciative political correct society we live in, it is so nice to go back in time with you and enjoy a few minutes of what life use to be. Thank you for allowing us to remember.
thanks for time traveling with me, Steve :-)
McGrath should be proud of his role. It is a good show. Craig is a wealth of knowledge! Good person to have help out.
By the way, you gotta love, "he knows where all the bodies are buried!" (classic Steve)
LOL :-)
I always wondered if sometimes back in the day did monsters have a special deal with the grave digger etc and dump extra bodies in the grave that was marked for others.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Remember Wagon Train well and ALL the actors that played in the series. I used to watch the program with my beloved grandmother who I think liked the show even more than I did... Be Safe & Be Well....
Being played on cable.
@@ms.sonshine8878 That's nice to know but here in Canada we don't have the cable choices that you folks do. We used to get a cable channel that contained ALL the get old westerns Wagon Train, Rawhide, but alas some higher up decide not enough viewers so they nixed it...
Thanks Ted and You too 😊👍
Sorry to hear that Ted ☹️
Watched all old westerns my grandfather loved them. And detective shows how are you doing
Wagon train when tv shows were great and worth watching.
I haven’t turned on my tv to watch network television since June 23, 2018.
@@cynthiaamitrano8915 I use Roku get old tv shows plus can watch CZcams on Roku tv too.
Growing up my dad and I were western buffs. Wagon Train we watched all the episodes that were made. I still am watching today and every time I watch Wagon Train and see Robert my eyes become dreamy as if I am 16 years old. Robert was the "Total Package" - debonair, handsome, a smile that would make you melt like butter, and that voice when he would sing - "Oh My". When I heard him sing "The Very Thought Of You" - WOW!!! They all are dearly missed. God Bless.
WOOSTER was my favorite character of all television programs when I was a kid in the 60s. he was a very funny comedic actor. I was always drawn to characters like wishbone (rawhide) and WOOSTER. this was awesome Steve. THANKS.
LOL, funny how all of the cooks and these western shows were the funniest and most memorable :-)
Hardest working man on CZcams 👊🏻
Frank Nelson and his skits with Jack Benny are classics.
Growing up in the 1950's I watched all the Western TV shows with my Dad who was a western fanatic. Wagon Train was our favorite! I still watch it on CZcams along with Death Valley Days. Their stories have staying power even after all these years! Thanks for the memories Steve! 🐴🤠
Thanks for sharing your memories with us Kerri 😊👍
Prayers for your friend it's so beautiful to remember all those who passed God speed peace ✝️❤️🇺🇸
I was a little girl when Wagon Train was popular. My whole family loved that show. My mother was a horse fanatic so if the show had horses, we watched it.
It was so nice to see Craig there to show you more
Your channel and your videos are more than worth watching ! Cant see why people comment mean comments to you but you have more nice people who watch your awesome great videos ! Always a pleasure to watch your new and older videos ! Have a nice day !
Thanks Patti 😊👍
Great video. I’m 61 and a big wagon train fan. I still watch it almost every day. Love ole Charlie Wooster, Ward Bond, Flint, Bill and the whole crew. Wish I could wind the clock back and meet them in person.
Charlie Wooster. Loved Wagon Train. Robert Horton passed away quite recently, within the last 3-4 years. Michael Burns was quite successful as a college professor and more.
Wagon Train was one of my favorite westerns as a kid! Could you please find any more of the cast members gravesites that have passed away?
Loved loved Frank Nelson. He was in the last season of I Love Lucy, but had played many humorous parts on the show since season 1.
Very distinctive voice. He was awesomely funny on Jack Benny.
until i did this vlog i didn't know that nelson had been on i love lucy so many times as so many characters. i learn something every time i take one of these trips. thanks for sharing with us Rose!
Thanks Craig! And thank you, as always, Steve!
thank you BB!
Great vlog as usual! Special thanks to Craig!
I didn’t watch Wagon Train because I was a young child at the time. Now it is one of my favorite shows. We steam this regularly and his chuckle is endearing. And when he took on his own bison it was the epitome of his care for others.
I still watch wagon train On Me T.V. here In Iowa live the station Oldies.😎👍 Thanks Steve
Happy Steveday everyone and thanks as always, Steve - up and waiting with the roosters just to entertain and enlighten us. I found this quote and it ways it all about Wooster and a show I grew up with and remember well ... "to say Charlie Wooster was just the Wagon Train’s cook is like saying the Oscar is just an award. He was a friend, confidant, and emotional glue which held them all together. He was also the comic relief."
what a great quote and how true. thanks for sharing it with us William!
Love Wagon Train. Still watch it. Ty for the adventure and ty Mr Talbot to.
Frank McGrath started his career as a stuntman . My favorite episode with Wooster is when he joins the woman Suffragettes that go on strike and he refuses to cook. Ward Bond played Clark Gables jailer in GWTW and Burt the cop in "It's a Wonderful life".
Thanks for sharing the fun trivia Joan!
Of course I did watch wagon train my father loved I thought it was good this was very interesting thank you Steve good work
Thanks for sharing with us Thomas 😊👍

You too Anthony 😊👍
Hey Chris....never see you on CAMO Dave show anymore ...your first YT celeb luncheon ...lol
My Father love westerns and that’s how I become a Fan 😊
Thanks for the wonderful memories Steve.
Glad you enjoyed them Norman 😊👍
Steve, your shows get better and better! Thanks for this one, have always been a fan of 'Wooster'. If you read Harry Carey Jr. book 'Company of Heroes' he writes about knowing Frank and working with him.
That’s a great book.
People here might enjoy Rob Word’s channel, A Word on Westerns.
Thanks for sharing that with us Bob 😊👍
I love Forest Lawn Glendale. I go to visit MJ. It’s so incredibly beautiful and peaceful, especially early in the morning when it first opens. I’m not a morning person AT ALL, but I love it there when the fog is still burning off. 💜
I loved Wagon Train as a kid and still catch it now and then. I have always had a love for the idea of " going west" and over the years while on vacations seen several landmarks along the pioneer way West including parts of the Oregon Trail. Wonderful for me!
Thank you, Steve and Craig, I enjoyed today's trip.
I watched Wagon Train as a child and I still watch it today on Me Tv.
I watch wagon train on MeTv everyday. I love Wooster. Thanks Steve for the vlog. Everything you do brings back many memories. You are a gem!
Watched all the western shows reruns when I was a kid and now. Your videos are good!
Thanks Dorothy 😊👍

Hi Steve! I remember this show barely ! My dad watched all Westerns . I remember Gunsmoke ! Great vlog as always! Thanks for all your hard work ! Deborah Winnipeg Canada
Thanks Deborah!
I watched Gidget yesterday, Michael Burns played her younger brother and he’s an Emeritus of history at Mt. Holyoke and a published author. There are so many coinkydinks at timing when I watch your videos.
How fun. Thanks for sharing that with us Cal Gal and I agree about all of those Coinkydinks 😊👍
Thanks for your effort. Growing up, Wooster was my favorite character on the show. I had forgotten all about him.
Loved everything about it. It was a great show. So realistic, they portrayed all the ups and downs of western life on a wagon train. My brother would never let us miss a show.💚💚
Great show as many shows during its time. Just watched Wagon Train this afternoon. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, Steve! Enjoying this informative & awesome video on my break. Love westerns,in general, altho I wasn't familiar w/ Wagon Train-until now! Thanks 👍🤗✌️
Love the oldies .🙏You have a great weekend.
Thanks Lucile and you too 😊👍
here we go another one thanks
Wooster was sure a fun character. Thank you Steve.
Mike
Steve love these visits. This man was a wealth of knowledge . I do have a question; have any of your visits evoked a deep emotional response? If so why?
oh, yes, many of them do and for all different reasons. good question, sue!
Love Wagon Train
Would watch it with my Dad who Passed Away 2 years ago !! Great Show !!
Sorry to hear about your dad Leonard. Thank you for sharing his memory with us!
I remember Frank Nelson! He did a bunch of episodes on Sanford & Son.
Just recently started watching Wagon Train for the first time and so far Wooster is my favorite character. I'm more into the comedy aspect of the show so now that I have the STARZ Channel I'm trying to get the "Wooster" highlighted episodes first. I like how he has total respect for Major Adams but scared of him at the same time because of the Major's bark at him and his horrible cooking...and sometimes coffee laced with booze sometimes, too funny! Wooster would've been cool to hang out with and have a beer with if I was in that era, even though it's fiction, lol.
Doubt I'll ever be in that area in the future, but I live in Visalia, Ca. and maybe one day I'll drive south just for the hell of it and pay my respects to Mr. McGrath and Terry "Hawks" Wilson. Haven't seen my hometown Monrovia in a while anyway.
Thanks for posting and sharing. 👍👍🪖🤠
Steve, I just finished watching seasons 1-4 of WagonTrain and I enjoy it.
Thanks Steve. Your vids have become a part of my week, really enjoy them.
Thanks Ray, that’s really nice to hear 😊👍
that was one of my Mom's favorite shows Wagon Train. I grew up watching it. take care & I'm looking forward to the next Video.
The song u played n this video is
Leaning on the everlasting arms!!!!
Frank Nelson. I’ve seen him in so many shows I always wondered what happened to him. That’s so random that he was in this video. Thanks M. Steve for the insight. God bless.
loved this show thanks again steve
Thank you , Steve Craig always enjoy your videos 👍👍
We watched Wagon Train every week. I can't remember what day it aired every week. That was our popcorn show. 🍿 Mama would pop 2 bowls of popcorn and we would sit and watch the show. We all loved Wooster, I remember him as being kind of grouchy at times and was at times very funny. He could also do serious parts on the show as well.othell. He was a fine Actor. Thanks for remembering Him, Steve. Did he do movies or other shows? Blessings!
Yes, he was in movies too. Thanks for sharing your memories of the show with us Nancy 😊👍
Watched Wagon Train. Loved the Wooster character!
I loved Gloria Talbot!
Another great video thank you Steve loved the background music hopefully you might include it in future videos best wishes to you Thomas Costello in Ireland.
Thanks Thoma, i’m sure I will include it in future videos with western themes 😊👍
@@TheGraveyardChannel thanks steve look forward to that.
I still watch WAGON TRAIN!
Thanx Steve, great show. One of the best cemetery guides on utube.
Wow, thanks Phil!
Thanks Steve. Interesting video once again.
"Wagon Train", the programme, I remember from my very early days
Kindest regards from the UK
Thanks, DJ. Glad you enjoyed it!
I have been watching Wagon Train everyday on tv.
Thanks so much I found some old episodes of Wagon Train on CZcams and enjoyed them. I really enjoyed the interesting visit.
Thanks, Rory, Every time I see your name I'm reminded of western tv star Rory Calhoun. Rory is not a common name here in the US, so it's especially memorable and just a neat name. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@TheGraveyardChannel Hey Steve Yes I guess it isn't too well known in America. You probably know where Rory Calhoun is buried or at least his final resting place. A few American friends sometimes call me Roy. I have seen a few of his old Westerns.
Watched "Wagon Train" but loved "Rawhide" with young Clint Eastwood! Know Gloria Talbot from 1957 sci-fi movie" The Cyclops !
Fine show... loved Ward Bond
Thank you Steve for sharing this I love all of your videos as always I'm so delighted to watch thank you very very much for all that you do
Love that show! ,I remember!
This is brilliant Steve thank you so much Richard Ann England
It's great you were able to have Craig help you out and to tap into some of his knowledge. I remember Frank Nelson on a number of shows. His signature entrance was as iconic as the way Fritz Feld would slap his mouth to make that popping sound. If you haven't visited his resting place, maybe that is one to put on your list. Thanks Steve!
Frank Nelson was also on Sanford And Son a few times.
Absolutely a great TV show and Wooster was a great character. Good video Steve!
thanks, Joseph. glad you enjoyed it!
Yes indeed Steve!
Awesome 👍 vlog buddy 👌 I love wagon train I watch it everyday on MeTV
Wooster was always so funny. Ward Bond will always be my Wagon Master. Glad to see you doing more videos. Hope you are doing well. God Bless
Thanks Linda, you too!
What a great Video! I watched Wagon Train growing up! I loved it!
Yay! Frank Nelson! Perfect foil for Jack Benny.
Ward Bond was all over the movie screens prior to Wagon Train. One of my favorite roles of his was when he co-starred with Errol Flynn in Gentleman Jim, circa 1940 I think. He was also in The Caine Mutiny with Bogart.
Did you know that Gene Roddenberry was inspired by Wagon Train when he came up with the concept for Star Trek. He always called Star Trek "Wagon Train to the stars"
Love the informative video's and history. Thank you so much for the great work you do. 😊
I like the Music in this Video 🎶🎶🎶
Frank Nelson was my favorite comedy foil involving Jack Benny. He constantly irritated him with "Yessss". Once he played a travel agent and Benny wanted to buy a ticket, so he asks him, "What are we running away from this time?"
Hi Steve especially LOVED this one!!Huge fan of Wagon Train !!!Back in the day and Now. Actually I'm watching it now. Still hoping u make it to us on the east coast!!Happy Trails Cindy
A very productive morning and a definite pleasure to have met Steve eye-to-eye (albeit via social distancing measures in place) and not have a laptop screen in place as a barrier. It's certainly most convenient when several of the renown happen to be in such close proximity to each other. (Some of those celebs can be rather elusive @ first.) I never caught "WT" (again regretfully) but, yet again, Auntie had appeared in an episode. (I'm seriously contemplating on compiling a list of shows in which she DIDN'T appear!) Incidentally (to correct myself), it's been more than 35 yrs that I've been "inhabiting" FLG. EEE-Yeeeeeeeeesssss?
LOL, everyone love your imitation Craig :-) It was great to finally meet you. More to come, down the road!
Craig....nice to see you ...loved your Aunts horror films 🎥
Outstanding information
I'm glad you are back or you might be back for a while and I just miss you i watch reruns of Wagon Train Those two Bill Hawks Wooster was my favorite carenters I guess as you say they was on the show from day one until its ended
Another great one, Steve. And a bit of oddity....I watch Wagon Train every day on MeTv right before Adam 12, and actually was wondering then about what happened to Robert Horton, and checked him out today on IMbd myself. Then I see one of your newest videos about the series today. Wow.
And fun fact to share with other WT and Horton fans that I learned in reading his bio, is he left the show to move to New York to do musicals. In fact, he even produced two albums during his life. Hard to think of tough guy Flint McCulloh singing on stage.
Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing your video I was young but remember my parents use to see that show 😉
Thanks you my friend. I still watching it Steve I was wondering where he was
Glad you enjoyed it Donna!
Beautiful background music!

it would have been great ;;if a big clip of wagon train was shown ;;thanks for the memories ;;
I first saw Terry Wilson and Frank McGrath in the western The War Wagon starring John Wayne and Kirk Douglas as a little girl
