- Video clips of the Professor who faced weekly challenges saving the castaways from all kinds of tropical encounters which, at times, made him the bearer of good news and bad news.

Russell Johnson played the most handsome Professor on TV. It was a sad day when he passed away in 2014.
Is there anyone out there that does not love the professor? Hard to imagine.
I always love when Skipper looks at camera when Gilligan says something dumb
Frank Castle Oliver Hardy would do that. A look of exasperation that was hilarious. He connected directly and you believed it.
Known as the fourth wall in acting.
He's the Man!
It's a good thing the Professor thought ahead and brought all those reference books with him on the three hour cruise. Guess he had a feeling he would need them. LOL
What I want to know is what brand batteries that radio had, that could last for years.
agriperma They did recharge them though
Plot twist: the professor caused the boat to crash so he could do an experiment to see how long people could survive on an island.
Great, great video! The Professor is the most important character on Gilligan's Island. He is the one who saves them by constantly providing knowledge and anecdotes of various mishaps the rest of the castaways face! He is my favorite character on an underrated show.
LOL, the theme song to Mission Impossible so fits this video of the Professor. He often did the impossible.
The others were fortunate to have the professor on the island to protect them since he couldn't get them off. RIP Russell Johnson!
For a serious character the professor was quite funny at times. These were a good array of some of those funny moments (often low key).
Somebody's gotta play the straight man
The volcano episode was so entertaining. It is here that we really see the professor at his best. Sherwood Schwartz apparently tried to apply real science to many of the shows when he could.
They sure brought a lot of books for a 3 hour tour.
Perfect music for this fantastic video about the professor!! Great Job Buck!
Thanks Hank Austin!
Nice to know Russell Johnson lived a long life. I always liked him. I enjoy watching his interviews with Bob Denver and Dawn Wells.
Very well done. Great video.
Where's my Quisp cereal?
At last - a kindred spirit!
None of my friends or family even remembers that cereal! They all think I'm making it up. They don't remember KaBoom or King Vitamin, either.
The professor of Gilligan's Island was the straight man yet very funny in numerous episodes. It makes sense that he wore a white shirt as it gave him a clinical appearance. Sherwood Swartz thought everything out very thoroughly.
um his shirt is light blue
Yup a funny straight man a classic moment was when they tried to make a movie hes supposed to kiss ginger but instead goes for a handshake since anything else was unsanitary
Did anyone wonder why the Professor managed to pack all these reference books for a three hour tour; not to mention it's hard to imagine he woke up one morning and decided he'd go for a boat ride. Gilligan's Island was almost 100% comic fantasy. Loved it.
Yea, like The Howels packing all their clothes.....
He was planning to go somewhere else, maybe an island, but he got to the docks early, so he decided to take a three hour tour to kill time
Wow. Looking at these comments, I had no idea that so many women had a crush on the Professor.
I love the interplay between the Skipper and professor. They compliment each other well.
Great video. They were all amazing, but Russell Johnson had some incredibly funny scenes, especially in the dream sequences. --Such as when he played Mary Ann's doctor and talked like Cary Grant (Rumiszeclumis disease). Or when he was the old man imprisoned in the castle and claimed a kiss (by Dawn Wells) could turn him into a prince. "Don't believe everything you hear girlie!" I sent him a message once when he had his website to thank him for the laughs and received a nice reply. He's definitely missed.
Don't forget the zombie incident
I wonder how long the castaways could have survived without the professor? I also watched Russell Johnson in Black Saddle with Peter Breck. This was such a dramatically different role for him.
I still find it interesting how Russell Johnson could transcend from his western role in Black Saddle to a somewhat nerdy Professor. Sign of a versatile actor.
Thanks for sharing your video. These are some of the best clips of the professor especially when he is reading about the radioactive seeds and his audience faints. "Now what could I have said to make them faint?" Too funny.
I have always enjoyed watching Gilligan' Island no matter how old I get. Certainly a credit to its producer.
GREAT JOB!!!! Five stars!
i love when they tell gilligan to go run and tell the others the good news, then he comes back and says what good news,HA HA HA LOL its such a goofy wonderful show,i loved watching it growing up,and i still love watching it.I have all the episodes on dvd
The Professor was pretty smart on how to survive on the island, but not how to get off. Enjoyed your video.
he wanted to stay on the island he was in love with ginger and he wanted to screw her
Enjoyable video. Nice to see a video with the Professor. He was actually pretty funny at times.
Thanks for adding the Professor to your videos. Russell Johnson seemed perfect for this role. He was in Black Saddle before joining Gilligan's Island.
The Professor for President!
What would we all do without the Professor? He was also pretty funny at times.
I always thought it was so funny how the Professor had all his text books on the island. He even has a medical book and can play doctor with the Skipper. LOL
The perfect straight man! Perfectly compliments the other characters!
Great video of the Professor. Love your work.
You have to feel a bit sorry for the professor who worked so hard to get the jet pack ready to go to Hawaii and then good ole Gilligan gets on top of it and races thru the lagoon emptying all the fuel. That look on his face is priceless.
Gilligan and skipper glued to boat ! Thanks
He’s the man!
Roy Hinkley, research scientist and well known scout master.
Enjoyed the clips of the professor you selected.
Nice to see a video on the Professor. He was my favorite way back when.
I just watched an Adventures Of Superman episode with Russell Johnson as a gangster leader today, ironically dealing with a robot just like the Gilligan's Living Doll episode...
That Professor is one good looking man! I loved him as a little girl and still do.
He was a little girl ?
@@trwent Love it
Loved him as a little boy and still do.
Alan Hale not only worked well with Gilligan, but also with the professor and Mr. Howell. The four male characters contrasted each other well.
Double Down Encore197
They complement each other.
Made my day!
I like the shot the professor put together. I would run if he was going to stick that into me.
Awesome video! I always had a bit of a crush on the professor .
I love these Gilligan's Island montages!
My favorite character on the show.
Where would they all be without their trusted Professor?
Even though Russell Johnson is playing a nerdy professor, he is still a cutie pie. Lol
now days the professor would have brought his laptop and invented a way to get WiFi on the island.
Yeah he would be saying epic and iconic, legendary and best ev-errrrrrr, of all time, in history, humans and tho!
There are some nice scenes of Russell Johnson as the Professor. So glad he was cast by Sherwood Swartz. I read he had to really persuade him to take the role. He was type cast like the others, but he will always be remember for his part in this show.
Any role may present the dual possibilities of good fortune and disaster for an actor's career.
Too cool
I remember so well the day Russell Johnson died. That was a sad and memorable day. The fans lost the last male star of this great sitcom show. RIP Russell Johnson aka The Professor.
Q
Great assemble, your videos are always so well done and funny.
+Angel Kitty thank you for the nice comment.
Russell Johnson was born November 10, 1924. He was a Scorpio.
I'm so glad to see a video centered on the Professor, who not only weighed each predicament carefully, but was able to pull off some great dead-pan humor that had me laughing all the way to the end.
...."Ditto" !
In the Nick of Time Lolo los pequeños traviesos
Really funny!! !Great memories of the Professor who always reminded us as to howoften we out guess ourselves. Lots of work and creativity went into making thisfun filled video.
Professor to the rescue.
Nice job.
Some good news and bad news: I loved your video on the Professor, but I wish there was more!
I miss mary Ann o h well back to terrible again,😁
The Professor was a kick with his clever inventions and inability to build a raft or boat. I used to watch Russell Johnson in the western Black Saddle with Peter Breck. The Professor was quite a different role for him.
I've always considered The Professor as the main hero on the island. It's practically always him who: A. discovers the danger, and/or B. comes up with a solution. Everyone else (Skipper included) just follows his directions.
Absolutely correct! He is the unsung hero of the program even though his character was not even mentioned in the opening credits in Season 1!
And he took some interesting lumps
Got hit with a golf club
Fell off a roof ( gilligan)
Didn't see a leak in a anesthesia hose line and knocked himself out ( and ginger)
Was turned into a zombie
Got his brain put in Mrs Howells body
Got trapped with the rest of the guys with a gorilla
Got hypnotized with crazy boris's ring invention
Got caught by headhunters ( everybody but gilligan)
Am I leaving anything out?
@@aliostrowski1935 In The Friendly Physician - first episode featuring mad scientist Dr. Boris Balinkov, it was actually the Skipper whose mind was transposed into Mrs. Howell's body and vice versa. The Professor and Mary Ann transposed minds. Mr. Howell and Gilligan transposed minds. Ginger and Igor transposed minds - by the additional strength from Igor's body, this enabled Ginger to free the rest of them.
@@alexisdiva9 and she still cried over a broken nail
Nice job, enjoyed your video.
I wonder how many fans saw Russell Johnson in Black Saddle. It was a good western but got overshadowed by a lot of the more popular westerns of the 50's and 60's.
No I haven't, but I've seen him as a telecom linesman in It Came From Outer Space ...."Do not, be, afraid...."
Awesome love the music Great video didn't realize there was so many scenes with the professor I love the whole video like I said the video was awesome !
Rip everyone except for ginger and mary ann.
That's not a needle, that's a harpoon.
I adore the Professor. He was so sexy and funny. Guess you could say I had a childhood crush on him. It's nostalgic to see all these clips of him.
The professor is not only smart, he is very good looking. I still have a crush on him.
Every show needs a good lookin man so Gilligan’s Island needed Russel Johnson. My favorite😜
RIP Russell Johnson.
it also comes with a free yogurt, which I call it fogurt, the fogurt is also cursed... but it comes with a choice of toppings! the toppings contains potassium benzoate... (that's bad)
Love this show
Thanks for sharing it's hard to bring a DVD player every where thanks
My favorite episode was Gilligan Gets Bugged.
Who is the real leader of the castaways; the Professor or the Skipper? I have to go with the professor.
If I was stranded on this island with only one castaway it would have to be Ginger. I would have a better chance of survival with the professor but at least I would die happy. LOL
TheJaggedEdge 1970 I second that!
Me, I'd rather Mary Ann.....
Everybody is always clean.
I always thought he was cute. If I were Maryann, I'd be taking turns with Ginger sneaking into the supply hut
I'm sure you've all noticed this but the Skipper, Gilligan, and the Professor always wore Red, White, and Blue.
He's the Man!!!! Where would they all be w/o the Professor?
Jodie Zamora except he couldn't build a boat!!!!
Yep...he was the real hero of the show.
You gotta love the professor's gadget to explode a bomb in the volcano.
I don't think the others could have survived very long on the island without the professor even if he couldn't figure out a way off.
Craig Carlyle Skipper was 2nd best as far as being collective and some smarts
They could have but not as well as they did
Let's face it, the others couldn't survive too long without the Professor even if he couldn't get them off the island.
"You mean the kind that goes 'Rumble!' 'Rumble!' 'Va-Room!!'???"
I forgot how good looking the professor was. Lol
All time favorite character: Gilligan
Kept me laughing the whole time.
What I know about Professor Roy Hinckley/Russell Johnson is that he was definitely the voice of reason. Even though Professor Roy Hinckley never knew how to write music. This means he was never a teen rock star.
Solid!
KEK!
loved him
Good thing the Professor was so smart to help save his friends each episode, but also good thing he was not smart enough to build a boat so we could at least enjoy this show for three seasons. Lol
If they made him that smart the show would be over in 2 episodes
Russell Johnson said on a talk show that most of the lines he had to deliver were scientifically correct and had to memorize. I would venture to disagree that all those comments delivered by the professor reflected scientific reality. But who cares, we still loved his character. 💣👨🎓
2021 Rules forever gillagan s island forever
he is officially my favorite charecter
lol 1:02 *My turn* xD
Russell Johnson was a man's man. Look up his war record and then bow down.
After all these years I still love the professor the most of Gilligan's Island cast ~ He's soooo wicked HOT!!💓💓💓
Do you remember his name in the show?
Roy Hinckley 💕💞💓💋
He would have been a great Reed Richards real or animated
I like the mission impossible music. As backdrop
Even as a child, I laughed at how the scriptwriters for "Gilligan's Island" cheerfully mixed elements of wildly disparate cultures from all over the world in their stories. At various times during the series, we were treated to voodoo and zombies (both Haitian), Mayan pottery (Central American), taboos (South Polynesian), headhunters (South American), gorillas (Central African), and totem poles (Inuit). Oh, well; if Shakespeare could have Cleopatra playing billiards, have striking clocks and books with leaves in ancient Rome, and give Bohemia a seacoast, we can cut commercial TV some slack.
