The epic action of "Edge of Tomorrow" unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.
Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop-forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again...and again.

I remember when Edge of Tomorrow came out, I didn’t have much interest in it mainly because I was only 7 years old when it came out. I watched it last year and now it is one of my favorite movies EVER.

This gotta be the most underrated movie of all time. I still remember, back when it had released people weren't ready to accompany me to the theatre and how I had to watch it all alone. There were hardly 4-5 people in there. They still don't know what they ended up missing. This flick was revolutionary.

@@vr_gamer.814 This tends to be the case for underrated movies. At release it won't garner much attention but after a year or so, people realize the movie was actually underrated. Underrated being the initial reception which prompts people to watch certain movies.

I had a similar experience with the first Matrix movie. Invited a couple of buddies to watch with me and they refused citing that it was going to be dumb. They did eventually watch it, after I insisted they would love it, and they were blown away by how good it was. Edge of Tomorrow is the same.
Watched this 4 years ago, and I still remember how I was emotionally captivated by every scene and every moment this movie showed me. You know it's a very good movie when you feel soaked up by the emotions of the characters and vividly imagining like you're experiencing their world.
And wanting to explore MORE of it

Man, it's 2019 and i just did what you said. Watched it last night (again) then came here for the trailer!
I never felt the ads failed this movie. If you didn't see this great movie that's on you!
trailer was actually terrible. the entire marketing of the movie let the movie down. it's the reason why it didn't make as much money as it should have.

I was trying not to get hyped for this movie, because that usually ends in disappointment, but I was really excited for it. 2 and a half years later, it's still a movie I love almost everything about. The humor, the action, the character development; just spot on.
I feel like this was the only time loop movie that made me empathize with the pain of having to die and wake up over and over again
This is the result when an Anime adaptation is done RIGHT.
1.) All You Need Is Kill (the source material the movie is based on) was only a light novel and manga, there is no anime adaptation.
2.) Alita: Battle Angel is another example of an anime adaptation done right.

At first when I started watching this movie I thought that it was gonna be just another boring ass movie about some guy killing alien monsters...I'm glad to say I was wrong. This movie is really great, with amazing plot and superb acting. 10/10 - would watch it again.

Not a 10/10 for me, the first 20 minutes of the film was really cheesy, but apart from that it was incredible. I'd give it an 8.5/10 and I'm definitely going to get this on Blu Ray.

At first I thought this movie was not gonna have the cliche of weird twists. I was disappointed that it was another futuristic us vs aliens movie that could've had amazing battle sequences turned into a cliche twist in plot. God I want want to see regular futuristic movies of alien wars. 0/10 will never re watch.

Finally got myself to watch this after 7 years and it does not disappoint. Truly the best Sci fi movie I've ever seen. Grateful to have experienced it first time.

It's a great sci-fi movie, but if it's the greatest movie you've ever seen then well my friend, you need to watch more movies
My guess is because it's a mix of action, sci-fi, dark humor and really quite an intelligent storyline it was really hard to market and create trailers for that convey what this movie is all about. It's telling that pretty much everyone who saw it absolutely loved it and said that it was such a positive surprise and much better/even better than expected. I mean it is nearly at an 8 rating on Imdb, which isn't easy to achieve at all.

FUN FACT that most people probably don't know: This movie is actually based off of a Japanese light fiction novel called "All You Need Is Kill". I've never heard of a American movie adaption of a Japanese light novel before, pretty cool.

This movie blew me away. One of the best sci-fi films of the decade.
Love how they are not showing the aliens here. It was a surprise to see how cool and unique they looked. This was one of those movies that you go in with low expectations ('dumb alien action flick") and get blown away by how good it is.
really well done scifi, amazing dialogue, solid action scenes, very interesting plot and even the romance didnt felt forced or cringe. 9/10

The first few minutes of the movie made me lose interest. Felt so generic. After the first reset, I got curious and had to watch to see how they would explain such a thing. Then I was hooked till the end.

It didn't look cheesy, it looked bleak and depressing. Then I saw the movie and while it did have some humour (so it wasn't depressing), it was still very tense and action packed. So everyone ended up enjoying it.

Tom Cruise is a video game character, and the player keeps dying and returning to last checkpoint. We see everything from the character's perspective, so when you die when playing a video game, you kinda traumatize the video game character. Don't die in a video game.
Really? I kill my character every chance I get. And if I respawn near the body. I blow it up and watch the body parts bounce around. Then rate the gib based on how good the body parts bounce around, and the blood spatter.

I saw this trailer an i watched it every day until the movie came out , but i guess I made my own surround sound out of 2 dvd players , 5 speakers an 2 subs an I swear I was just you tube dozing an it auto played on tv an never have i buzzed with goose bumps with it, I hate it cos the new dvd players just don't have same power or that oomph where its sposed to be
