All right Charles very likeable songs kind of reminds me of the middle of the road music they had back in those movies back then but every once in a while you'd see a good doo-wop group in there but I love it just the same thank you so much for sharing

A favourite group. Giddy up ding dong a big hit. Upbeat jazzy style soon abandoned by record buyers. Were in movies. Wonder what happened to them. Great upload.

Thank you so much, Charles, for posting this very cool LP by Freddie Bell and the Bellboys, definitely a rarity. I never have had much opportunity to hear this group, although I knew that Elvis learned "Hound Dog" from their cover version of Big Mama Thornton's original when he saw their act in Las Vegas (always a minor disappointment to me because Elvis sang their whitewashed lyrics, which made much less sense than Big Mama's original). Interestingly, while they did not have chart hits here in the US, the second track on this side, "Giddy Up a Ding Dong," made it to #4 on the UK charts in September of 1956, probably due to their being one of the first American rock'n'roll acts to tour the UK, in support of Tommy SteelePep Lattanzi. I am also impressed that Freddie Bell composed most of their material on this album, including the aforementioned hit, together with his pal Pep Lattanzi.
