#warhammer40k #miniatures #gamesworkshop - Jak na to + styl
My favorite part about 3rd party models are their names, it's almost an art form, they have to be concise and cover what they're trying to proxy but still stay distinct from their official counterparts
an art form and fucking hilarious too. I always burst out laughing whenever I browse their stores
Roberto Guillermo, my favourite spanish primarch
@@LimavianYT Who wouldn't want a daemon army led by The Great Chungus.
Ah yes, the mechanic adeptus
"I will deal with this Ultramarine slime myself!"
The Smurfy Marines are SO over-rated!
Watched this video looking for this mini, was very happy to see this comment.
@@Chablar89 I've been seeing the "Smurfs" as the Emperor's Gift to Man since '91... I'm sick of them to the bone; it's always them that save the day, always them the best books and stories are about... I'VE SMEARED MARNEUS CALGAR ON THE BATTLEFIELD MANY TIMES, AND HE AND HISS BUTT-BOYS ARE THE BEST THE IMPERIUM HAS TO OFFER?!? I play Imperial Guard (Catachans)...
Captain cato! You are a bold one
Some of these alternate 40K models are just too cool to not paint.
You had 10 slots and ignored the Victoria Miniatures Guard regiments in all of them.
Very unfortunate.
I mean, you could do a 100 slot series on Imperial guard options alone. There's so many out there, and the majority of them are great.
@@wolfehoffmann2697 Could have done 1 per company or instead of top 10 models done top 10 companies. Wargames Exclusive could have easily taken all top 10 slots if you let them.
While they look nice, they're expensive. Like on par with GW..lol
Would consider them if they sold STL files, but buying resin minis seems silly after owning a printer.
For anyone considering Artel W models, do keep in mind that the scale of those models is slightly smaller than regular GW minis, which makes them slightly more difficult to paint and might cause size disparages with the rest of your army. That being said the quality and detail of the sculpts is superb, and the attention in delivery and customer support is great. Also, they have some of the BEST Eldar-like minis out there
Oh really? I've only purchased from their Iron Horde line, and they're actually a little larger than GW orks.
@@blakedavis4209 might only be the case of the Eldar-ish then, I got a couple of them and they are a bit smaller than the official ones
I've bought several of their imperial human characters. They are indeed more true-scaled and proportioned. Absolutely excellent quality though.
Gotta disagree with that. Some of their minis are kind of smaller than GW, others are a bit bigger. That said, I highly recommend getting their products, they are just marvelous!
@@Sergey-wg7ne might be the case for the Eldar-ish only then? i only have a couple of models and they are both from the Starborn Ancients line
James Workshop's true crime was hiding the gentlemanly bulges from us
That dastardly James Workshop!
How diabolically devious of James Workshop
I went to high school with James workshop, dastardly fellow that man was
me looking at 3rd part minis just makes me go "oh now gw looks cheap.... now forgeworld looks cheap....... and there goes my money"
True, though some companies are kind of the opposite. At least the one I know that is way cheaper than gw and great quality is wargames Atlantic. Though they are largely only useful for impy guard.
@@colbyboucher6391 I use minis as toy soldiers and create huge battlefield displays for my man cave garage lol kinda wish the gaming side was less popular so 3rd party stuff would be more accepted and cheaper.
Excited shunning techology: "slap this big gun on a lizard and call it low tech!"
That Vindilorian Assassin from Alternative minis is pretty friggen sweet
Wargame Exclusive also sell it, and I completely agree, it's damn nice. It was my christmas present to myself lol
I appreciate I’m late commenting but I’ve just brought from Alternative minis, do their models need to be washed before assembly. Any tips you could pass too would be helpful :)
Bet I could get my Star Wars friends into 40K with that General Grivus model
I already wanted to play necrons so this was a happy coincidence lol
Not gonna lie. I don't even play necrons but I want it.
Ranging Heroes for Sisters and Dark Eldar/Elves and Creature Caster for Greater Daemons
I love that you have collected almost every chaplain. I have pretty much every squig-related model (including forgeworld), but haven't looked at the range for a while. I recently realised that they released another goblin warboss on a giant squig model, and I was like... do I really need another one? XD Haven't caved yet, but we'll see. lol
Squiggoth too?
@@Tehonlyspennaaah I’ve been collecting orcs and goblins since WHFB. sadly I don’t have a squiggoth, as I don’t have 40k orks. I do have the colossal squig, squig gobba and the command trio (with shaman, BSB and fancy boss on giant squig).
Only recently started collecting money 40k, I have some sororitas and Drukhari.
“ Hello there!”
“Inquisitor Kenobi”
I'm a Drukhari player and I've been loving the Void Elves line from Raging Heroes for a mostly female army. Warmachine Cryx models are also great for representing Coven stuff
You misspelled Dark Eldar
Not a single mini, but Wargames Atlantic has a number of plastic kits that could easily be used as Imperial Guard. They don't have all of the guard regiments represented, but they can easily provide fodder for Vostroyan, Steel Legion, Kriegsmen, Tempestus Scions, and even Squats. Moreover, their Afghan Tribesmen box can act as serviceable Tallarn of a slightly different flavor, though you'll need to source separately some parts for the futuristic weapons and equipment. (On the plus side, the Afghan Warrior box gives you 40 models for $35, which is a tremendous deal, especially if you want to make use of loads of Conscripts).
That Grivus model is my favorite overlord. Spent a good amount of time to make him look perfect. Such a nice model. That same company has a great solution for the extra necron bits for immortals/deathmarks and uses the other set of arms. They also look pretty close to some Grivus guards as well.
Dude I have to be honest here..... I have seen almost all your videos and until today I noticed I was never subscribed!! this is really good quality of info you giving here, thanx alot!
One Page Rules has some amazing looking minis.
Have you seen the stuff from Heresy Lab? They make not bad 'not quite' 40k stuff.
They do fantastic "not quite" Imperial Assassins
Their models are good but their reputation is iffy
@@Powerhungry5000 at least they deliver, but it takes time. I just don't like that they start Kickstarter campaigns before I even got stuff from my last.
Amazed how you keep up this quality
Agreed. Jay has become a favorite of mine, up there with Jon Ninas, Brent at Goobertown, Emil, and Guy at Midwinter.
3:23 thanks my dude, I've just started a "Inquisition" force that uses GS models, since I'd like to imagine it as beeing a precise and fast strike force and I've been looking for a good count-as-Kelermorph. Welp, looks like I can put that "Techprist with 3 roboarms" idea back in the bits-box
I'm sure you didn't want to make a video specifically dedicated to ArtelW, but boy, just about every model they make in there is glorious. The Iron Horde range specifically is really amazing.
Awesome list, thanks for introducing me to all of these great companies!
Thanks for the list. Haven't heard of hardcore minis but am checking them out just now.
Wow! Such amazing minifigs! I love all of them! ❤️❤️❤️
The Necroids range from Scalebro. They got some wonderful floaty not-cron destroyers and an alternate c'tan sculpt, and that overlord especially
Never heard of Scalebro before. Thanks for mentioning them here. Looks like they have some neat stuff.
I recently got the Grivus model and IMO it looks even better IRL. The mandalorian model from Wargame Exclusive is also an excellent model.
Thanks for pointing me at some minis I couldn't find otherwise.
This video needs a part 2!
Tacticool has no place in a space marine army.
Only if you have to pray to it or it kills you slowly
Thank you for this comparisson video!!
The tau biker could make for good counts-as tetras, since they're around biker size. Personally my favourites that I've seen have been Mantic's forge fathers, basically squats, and they have the added bonus of already being an army in Warpath, a totally not 40k inspired wargame.
Wargame Exclusive have some great miniatures.
These are great. I may just have to get that Tau/Kaneda mash up to paint as a display piece or in a diorama.
This video is mega helpfull. Thanks alot👍
My favorite 3rd party is PuppetsWar from poland: Super quality 3D-prints, awesome concepts like the Ork Fleshbusters, the O-Team Battlevan or Orkboss Bruise Pain!❤
That bike looks so cool - had to order one!
ArtelW is all around amazing. I hate waiting for his models but it's worth it.
Exactly what I was looking for
I love the "Fight Club" 1 frame inserts at 6:02 and 6:12!
Just awesome info.👍👍
I just recently bought that jungle commissar, and may have to add a couple gloss coats now...
I love Kromlech orks, they have so many great models, I would probably build my list exclusively from them if I was starting my orks from scratch.
The Greater Good line from wargameexclusive makes for some amazing characters and unique models to mix into any tau army.
Also shout out to anvil industries and victoria miniatures for their guard lines
Gotta get one of those unforgiving chaplains, so cool!!!
The only caveat is that according to GW rules, you can’t use these models at Warhammer World tournaments. This might not be important to anyone outside of Britain, but for me, it’s more significant.
You're likely to be told not to use them in a GW store also, as typically they only allow the use of models they can sell in store.
Yeah same, it's annoying. I tend to go down there a few times a year
1:41 Damn bro, im honored by another with such fine tastes!!!
Skull bois FTW
Also that General Grievous Necron Lord blew me away holy damn!!
If you are into Tyranids at all you have to check out Hydracast Miniatures.
I believe I already saw Creature Caster listed for their amazing demons.
Also have to throw out Popgoesthemonkey for their awesome bits. They have started doing full models too. I'm currently painting up Grossblum the plague demon lord and its such a great model.
I love your vids. Usually the first one i watch in the morning on your upload days while I download in the bathroom. Saying that, I think your vids would be more entertaining with sound effects/audio cuts. No idea how you could do that but it just seems to me like some kind of theatrical audio inflections would be the roux that binds your sauce. I'm probably wrong though. I wouldn't take advice from someone who wakes up thinking about how great my poop will be if there's new hobby vids to watch. Although you did mention you just started collecting Orks....
An Ork miniature line that I really like is from Gear Gut's Mekshop
Love that your fav movie is fury road. legend
I have the Night Lord First Claw characters from Artel W, theyre amazing sculpts
Scibor and Puppetswar.EU Puppets war selection of bits is also amazing!
Best Movie ever Mad Max Fury Road? jajajajajaja Thanks EoB. I needed that.
Lord of the Print has some really nice dragons and a pretty nice substitute for Be'lakor called Armaros, Chaos Incarnate.
I thought I had already subscribed to your channel, like ive watched you for a year, but apparently never subscribed despite you being my favourite youtuber
Brilliant models great video my bank is going to cry
I came across models one payg rule They are also very nice ( and The silence you mentioned is what I like most about General necron)
Commenting and saving this video for all of the sweet, sweet recommendations in the comments section. Thanks.
Raging heroes and their "not-Sororitas" are something to behold... Their not-Celestine kicks GW's "version" so hard in the butt she reached apotheosis! You might not have prior experience with their products, so no outrage... But I had to mention them for all those comment-readers....
Yea. I have their "terminator" armors. My only gripe is I wish they were larger. Otherwise, they are amazing.
That Tau cyber bike not far off Kanedas bike in Akira!..noice!
Artel W's line in general is pretty amazing.
I love these best/worst model list videos ♥️
how have I never seen the grievous I've been on wge loads before, I guess I'm glad payday was recent
That Grievous Necrolord looks awesome!
You could sub the Greater Good Biker for a T'au Piranha.
I have those plagelings, they are great!
@EonsOfBattle Check out "Scibor Miniatures" SF Miniatures line. Lots of great stuff - You can even create 40K Dwarfes Army :)
6:02 lmao that one frame😂
Funny how primaris are the most up to date and frequently released models from GW but are still the models I 3rd party convert the most. Marines just aren't marines if they aren't in mark III iron armor.
Hasslefree also have *not* stargate SG1, *not* John Wick, not akira and my personal favourite a character called "Foxtrot" and you go and have a look to see who that isn't.
I’ll have to look theses up
Scibor Miniatures makes some really nice Space Marines stand in's
Have you seen the glorious saturnine terminators by tortuga bay .
The best ones are gonna be little board game minis or old weird figures from thrift stores that you slap a gi-joe gun and some rivets and make your own Ork Boss.
well, there's the inquisitors from heresy labs, the looks-like-gabriel-angelos that artel w used to have on their site, the actually scary lucius the eternal lookalike from wargame exclusive, the warmaster model that would be a pretty good Abbaddon the Despoiler before his new official mini came out. i can probably go on for a pretty long time, but it's best i shut up now :3
Would love to see you 3D print and paint up some 40K alternative army.
Check the Wargame Atlantic Einherjar, the not-squat
I've dropped some major dollars on Modiphius Fallout Wasteland Warfare in the recent months... I now understand _plastic crack._
They're was a video of yours once with an alternative silent king. I can't find the video or the model anywhere. Can you help me out? After seeing that video, I don't want to use the gw silent king anymore
Hitech miniatures. Has pretty much every not-primarch and other not-hqs out there. Painted up a not-vulkan from them
Wooo, Reasonable Marines!
Nice list. I've always liked WGE minis. Have you seen the gear at Puppets War? I've bought a lot from them and they have a huge catalog.
I have some heads from puppets war and I was a little disappointed, I did buy second-hand though, they could have been recasts. I'll have to give them another try
@@EonsOfBattle yes, order direct.
I forgot to mention Raging Heroes. Not always 40kish, but the models are top notch ad their own IP.
The tau biker could be a tetra since heavy weapons on vehicles don't take a minus 1 anymore.
Do you have any 3rd option for Adeptus custodes? since forgeworld have lot of out of stock :(
If you haven't given the miniature game "Gaslands" a go yet, definitely try it out. It's basically MadMax with kitbashed Hot Wheels.
Raging Heroes - take a look
Mad Robot Miniatures for guard. I have a bunch that I am using as bridge crew.
6:17 A fine addition to my collection.
the kopta buzz saw attack is just when they use the propeller to hit
Might be kinda weird and definitely not your particular style but I would love to see you take some little toy soldiers from the dollar store and find a way to either just paint them up or even kit bash them into something awesome and useful in a war game
I think you missed a trick with the Raging Heroes line. They have some of the baddest guard characters around.
"Inquisitor Obi-Wan..."
"Hello there, foul xenos."
Punga Miniatures Skaven models are quite nice. Creatures Casters are good with daemons. Puppetswar head bits are perfect.
You should include the Wargames Exclusive “Necrocyborg Deathmarks” in your next list. They’re excellent Deathmark alternatives that look much better than the standard model.
Akira akira akira akira akira! Tau army painted with the red bike couloir scheme and beautiful emblem army would be sweet with commander on this bike lol
Wargame exclusive's Greater Good Ronin really cool too
One of my personal favorites. "Grossblum: plague demon Lord) from popgoesthemonkey. It looks way better than the GW nurgle daemon prince, comes with more weapon options and is only a few $$ more.
Victoria Miniatures has some great resin minis from Oz... Brother Vinni is akin to ArtelW, but they take FOREVER to ship.
I found the same, I've just got to the point it allows me time to finish a whole bunch other miniatures before they get delivered.
Tau model screams Akira which is perfect.
Anvil industries has a lot of great stuff.
I love Artel's Grimal....er...I mean Chaplain model
I bought someones warmahordes army to be my counts as Crusaders for my Sisters army. Forget their names but they just needed to have their spears replaced with swords to go with the shields. Also came with one of their walkers but it's waaaaay to small to be a Dreadnaught... but I plan to give it to Slaanesh at some point.
Which brings me to where most of my 3rd part models as. Lots n lots of daemon princes/princess and Heralds from various sources. Have a bunch of raging heroes (khornettes), praying mantis gals from that company (forget their name). Even some that are ment to be dark elves but screw it... they did make Slaanesh after all. Also raging heroes "Seekers".
Daemons have to be the easiest for 3rd party sources tho. So thanks for some cool stuff I hadn't heard of.
