- The first plant-based protein factory has opened in Australia.
“Harvest B develops and manufactures plant proteins that are based on a local supply chain,” Harvest B's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Kristi Riordan told Sky News Australia.
“We use wheat that’s grown here in New South Wales to create specific formulations that have the texture that you might like to eat that are in beef, pork, chicken, and lamb.”
I would rather have farmers.
But farmers aren't foreigners who will take $ to crush Aussies. This Sheila will happily crush Aussies.
The fact that Vegans are trying to simulate the taste of meat so badly is an endorsement of the taste of meat really.
tells you something doesn't it .. be healthy, eat red meat
👌
@Kod that's a long roundabout way of saying "meat is delicious"
@@krs4395 of course it's delicious, but it's unsustainable for the future and there's a lot of cruelty involved in the industry. This is just a way for people who are conscious about the environment and ethical practices to have a different option without feeling like they're missing out
I’ll stick to meat as my main source of protein thanks
👌
Delicious 😋😋😋🥩🥩🥩
God help us.
Never taste as good as a medium rib eye
Medium rare.
Very True Sir 👍🏾
Yummy, my favourite, well done.
😊👍
No, but people that eat it don't like steak
And nobody wants it.
I will stick with Beef Pork Chicken in it's natural form thanks....
some seafood too, to round out the mix.
@@Design_no sweet chilli prawn👌🏻
And some beautiful salmon!
Slurp. 😊👍
I have my own, they're called legumes and pulses, they go great with meat and veg.
Umm.. no, pulses & meat are actually a poor combination, re: digestion; resulting in much gas !
Consider veg & dairy with your legumes ok…nothing wrong with meat eating though 👌 just basic science that meat & pulses. ANNOT digest effectively in the gut simultaneously
Hopefully a belly up project!!!!!
in the US coys like this have failed
REd meat all the way!
Soylent green comes to mind.
Soon they will have a Euthanasia Centre just like in the Movie.
plant based with what else added..unthinkable evil
Bigger! You beat me to it! I just posted a Soylent Green joke.
@@whiskeygamer9402 You too.
Cement factory
In the thumbnail it looks like sawdust.
Probably has some in it as well
@@nathantudor5763 Good one Nathan. 🤣🤣🤣🤔😊👍
Uk just had plant based meat for 40 pound sterling a kilo thats 80 bucks Australian for fake beef.
Save the environment by starving to death! Yippee
No.
Why ? Over processed, filled with fake ingredients and cancer causing. Many of us allergic and getting high inflammation from most of the fruits, vegetables. I just stick with straight, unprocessed meat. No salami, no sausages, nothing. Who knows what's in it ?
Make your own sausages and salami! Is not really too difficult
enjoy your soylent green Australia
Good luck trying to keep this food brand clean! All chemicals to come!!!

Nah, cannibalism isn’t great. Dog food maybe? Or just fire for warmth, seeing as we will all have no gas or electricity soon
"Plant-based protein." It should not sound ominous but it does sound ominous.
What is better than some sludge that is made in a factory and is full of preservatives?
The real thing....
I've already got a protein factory it called a cow
Mmmm bugs
A healthy diet is simple! If its processed, do not eat it!
If they can match the taste of the real thing that's all well and good. Of all the substitute products I have tried over the years not one has lived up to their claims of tasting like the thing they are imitating.
It's definitely getting a lot better, especially for burger patties/mince. I'm not vegan but I don't like to eat beef, so I buy the vegan mince at the grocery store and use it the same way, like for pasta, tacos, burgers etc, and to me, once it's cooked with spices, it's spot on just like beef mince.
I can see a lot of Blazing Saddles moments coming up (or out)

I’d don’t care just as long they don’t call it meat. If this type of food suits you good on you.
Not really good as it'll cause heart attacks and more from the seed oils
If your grandmother dosent recognize it, don't eat it
That's stupid, why would you limit only eating food your own grandmother recognises? What about foods from other cultures?
You missed the point on that one Synd. 🤔

Bought beef burgers not wearing my glasses to read pack. Hanging for a burger and after first bite I gave it to the dog who wouldn't eat it either. Turned out they were some meat replacement beef burger. Absolutely crap. I will stick with meat.
Made the same mistake with plant based bacon once.
How did you mistake that when they're in their own section at the supermarket?
@@childoftime9964 They weren't in their own section when I bought the bacon it was right along side the regular bacon, with the plant based being in tiny letters among the nutritional info on the back, with a brand name and bacon written on the front that didn't indicate it wasn't real bacon.
Then again it was a few years ago, before the labelling rules got stricter.
@@BNOBLE981 oh that's weird. I buy it often because I don't eat red meat or pork, and I get it from the vegan section
@@childoftime9964 Could be because the town I shop at doesn't even have a population of 12000, probably a lot less demand, than in cities to justify having its own spot in the stores.
Watch it go broke real fast
Actually, no. Vegan food industry is growing very fast. Every week I'm seeing new products on the shelves. I haven't been able to try them all yet. This week it was golden gaytimes. Next week there will be something else I'll try. They are not all winners for me. I really like about half the things I try.
@@veganandlovingit "look at how successful we are" cry the communists after lobbying successfully for govt grants.
You don't understand the difference between subsidy and success because you are economically illiterate, like you are also nutritionally illiterate.
@@frankwren8215 Sorry it has taken me a while to reply to all your silly messages but I had a busy day at work and then, you know, the gym, sauna and pools. What the heck are you talking about? You should get out from behind your screens and do something healthy for your mind because you seem to have lost it. Perhaps you are just drunk or intellectually stifled. The AMGC was established by the Australian Government to aid development of a dynamic and export-focused manufacturing sector. Here it is investing in value add in agriculture, including this factory mentioned, to create jobs and export opportunities, as well as lessening the carbon footprint I suppose. So instead of locally grown grains going over seas and being converted into protein foods, and sold back to Australians at a higher price, our own factories will process the grain into these products ourselves. Why should vegan products be excluded from this type of government national strategy? Don't you believe in supporting National Interests? Do you know what communism is? Why are you talking about subsidies? Are you saying that giving money to anything 'except' farmers is communism?
Production line for a whole new cause of cancers
I take a vegetable based protein called Huel and it tastes like 💩
But it sure works if you are on a diet and exercising
I lost 10kg in 8 weeks
Going to be a lot more skinny people about in the future 🤣
No thanks
Plant based protein, doesn’t that mean hormones and chemicals mixed with vegetable paste?
Don't forget the seed oils and some rat droppings from the machinery
Lol, no it doesn't. The protein is from wheat and peas, and then they just regular old herbs and spices
@@childoftime9964 What kind of oils are used in the manufacturing process? What chemicals are added to it?
So how much does this hurt the environment compared to just farming. After all this has to use a lot more power and fossil fuels to get worker's there as compared to fresh produce. Can't be an environmentally friendly factory.
Bill G wants to put the V in the food, so that you can't say no.
