- Hulk Hogan is one of the most famous wrestlers of all time - he is a household name and a legend of the wrestling industry. His wrestling career spanned over four decades and at one time he was considered one of the most revered and most loved icons in the wrestling business. Until he wasn't. There are many wrestlers that have hated or continue to hate hulk Hogan. These names include Macho Man Randy Savage, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon, Kofi Kingston with The New Day, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ultimate Warrior, The Undertaker and so many more! Check out the latest list now! The man is banned from attending AEW show by Tony Khan for heaven sake.
In 1994, Vince McMahon was on trial and the United States government had brought three charges against him, two counts of distributing steroids and one count of conspiracy to distribute steroids. This was a huge deal for Vince McMahon and he was facing up to eight years in prison.
Hogan was a hero to children, a beacon of light, so to admit this in public was a huge risk. The steroid trial, however, barely affected him, and this was just one of a long line of scandals that Hogan would endure.
During the 1980s, professional wrestling was the Wild West - the business was cut throat and wrestlers were barely treated with any respect. Jesse "The Body" Ventura noticed this and saw that it was the executives who were getting all the benefits while the wrestlers had nothing to show for it. In response, Ventura made plans to unionize wrestling. He spoke to union reps in the NFL and had a meeting with the boys about setting up a union in WWF, which would have set the ball rolling for unions to become instituted across all of wrestling. This would have helped thousands of lower paid wrestlers across the entire wrestling world.
In 1991, Ventura learned that Hulk Hogan had snitched on the union meeting to Vince McMahon, who did everything he could to derail those plans. Ventura said to Title Match Wrestling that it was like a "punch in the mouth," as he considered Hogan a close friend at the time. Hogan was well taken care of without any union and was perfectly happy with his position - he wasn't going a let the formation of a union change a power balance that he was benefiting from. Hogan buried countless wrestlers just on the off chance his spot could be in danger.

I know Bam Bam Bigelow would be on that list. In the Legends Of Wrestling 2 video game, he named Hogan as the guy who helped him out the most when he got started in WWF. I'm pretty sure Roddy Piper would be on that list, too, given how generally supportive he was of Hogan during the last interview he gave before he passed.

Shawn overselling hogan at summerslam was a masterpiece. He got hogan back for so many people who were screwed by him over the years. Hogan's a joke and that match proved it.

I believe Hogan said that based on what HBK said on RAW the day after their SummerSlam match, was why he didn't continue the best-of-3. However, on that RAW they started turning HBK into a babyface and starting a program with Chris Masters. So, Hogans view seem a bit off.
HBK actually was the one who got a taste of his own medicine. HBK helped screw over other wrestlers with his Klique buddies along with screwing over Bret. Hogan then proved he was able to politic better than HBK, that Vince told him just do whatever Hogan wanted. It was effectively who was the bigger one in backstage politics and apparently Hogan won.
The over selling actually ended up making Hogan unintentionally great and boosted his popularity amongst fans.
That made Shawn immortal and won him even more fans. Shawn is a legend,I remember as a kid back in the 90's when he won his first world champion back in 1996, we celebrated because he was our idol. Icon

There is no denying wrestling wouldn't been around today without the help of hogan but what makes me despise this man is that he didnt help anyone but himself in this wrestling business.
That isn’t correct, he only put someone over if it made sense and didn’t make his character look weak. He put over Ultimate Warrior, Undertaker, Yokozuna, Goldberg, Lex Luger, Sting, Lesnar, the Rock. To Hulk it has to make sense as to why he is losing. Having him lose to Billy Kidman wouldn’t make much sense and would be illogical, it might help Kidman but it also weakens the Hulk Hogan character. All pro wrestlers in his era were protective of their character. Roddy Piper only lost one match cleanly and that was to his cousin, Bret Hart. Piper never put anyone over except Hart. All his other loses were either DQ or countout, that is why he didn’t want any belts because it meant he would have to lose cleanly at some point. Name one person other than Bret that Piper put over?

Hogan was the man he had charisma nobody could replace Hogan in the charisma department. however because he didn't have jeopardy when it came to his matches he got stale until he returned to being a heel in 1996. Another fact about Hogan he could really work check out his Japan matches woooo.. seriously the man has skills

The Undertaker had CM Punks first title reign killed simply cause he didn’t like the way he dressed. After hearing that story I lost a little respect for Undertaker, sure Punk has a lot of negatives but to kill his career momentum because you don’t like how he dresses is kind of lame.

I think its pathetic how people go after Hogan even though they know, and acknowledge that without him none of them would be able to have the careers they have/had. Even the attitude guys. Without Hogan turning heel in 96 there is no NWO, without NWO there is no Attitude era or DX as it was the response to NWO and without that we get no Austin or the Rock. And i hate when people say Hogan didn't put anyone over. He lost way more matches than he won between 98 through the end of his career to all newer stars. In the 80's he was given the push on purpose to get to the unbeatable American hero by McMahon.
Im sure there is alot of crap that is true about Hogan just how we've learned has been true about basically every star wrestler ever. Austin left the company because he refused to put Lesnar over. Triple H has played politics since the 90's as well as the Rock. Ric flair took his toys and went home several times. Shawn and Bret?? Come on now. The only two massive stars ive really seen do whatever they were asked was Undertaker and Mick Foley.

Yes it is true Hulk Hogan did made WWF the way it was. But the thing about it is you don't know these wrestlers behind closed doors. The same thing with the actors and actresses in the movies. So when wrestlers say negative things about hulk Hogan, it may be true.

i'm not surprised by this list of wrestlers that hated hulk hogan and it's kind a a recurring theme the main reason is because hulk was always for himself although from everything i heard macho man had only himself to blame for his divorce from elizabeth because he mistreated her quite a bit.
To be fair there isn't much difference between the Warrior and Hogan's attitudes they both seem selfish. I don't understand not putting anyone over who are you going to do business with when you run through them all.

I actually despise Hogan, so this video was brilliant 😂. I understand he did put wrestling on the map in the 80s, but I just couldn't take to him. I found nothing about him likeable, either as a 'sports entertainer'/wrestler/actor/reality star. When he done Hogan knows best, he just showed the world how truly stuck up his arse he really is .. Hulk Hogan was a money maker he made wrestling what it is today the rest of the wrestlers are jealous.
In regards to UW and this "making amends" stuff. It it clear to anyone that UW knew he was at the end, and he did the right thing and made his amends with as many folks as he could. I can beleive that Vince McMahon took this and forgave a dying man. I dont think Hogan did any such thing, but rather, Hogan spun it to be about himself.(say it aint so!).

Hogans done a lot of shitty things and hes told a shit ton of lies but in my mind nothing is worse than the jail tapes that were released between hogan and his criminal son where they actually try and blame the guy that his son almost killed and changed his life forever for the accident.
It's crazy, because I've never heard Hogan trash anyone publicly and if we're being honest, Hulk Hogan is the guy who made the WWF/WWE a global phenomenon. Let’s also just put the Brett Hart thing finally to rest. Hogan put over Rodney Anoaʻi (Yokozuna) at Hart’s expense… if he HAD chosen Hart over Rodney, wouldn’t he have just as much cause to have been a bitch about it? Probably, but everything I have ever read about Rodney Anoa’i says that he was a gem of a human being… so the only difference is Brett Hart. Who (like Hogan) also has a solid list of detractors… ask Ric Flair.

Never liked Savage. Vince liked his charisma and he was able to run with that. He had his own people with whom he was on their shit list - Tops was Andre. I had known about that long before the documentary because Andre felt Savage didn't pay his dues in the business.
