I just spoke to a nurse friend of mine about this whole Freedom Convoy thing and it was quite a heated argument. Basically what she was saying was that much like the truckers she thought that it was just so wrong to Force a treatment like a vaccine into someone's body. She treated it as if it was the most egregious civil rights blunder. Even somehow agreeing with the comparison to the Holocaust. So I'm here explaining to her that "okay so what you're saying much like the trucker's is why don't we just keep the virus going and not deal with it then because we think it's a bad idea to have a vaccine to help with the situation so that people can get back to doing what they want to do. I mean look at it already it's already mutated how many times? So why not right?" And of course she couldn't answer the question she just repeated exactly the same rhetoric. It just goes to show you that when you really think about it some of these protests still make no sense because they not thinking about the wider issue here. There is a virus that is mutating still and making life way harder than it needs to be and the things are being put in place to kind of Rectify that and they're basically saying "F this I'd rather the virus" it boggles my mind
What are her thoughts on abortion… just curious. Having a vaccine helps everyone around you, having an abortion effects you alone. So since pro reproductive rights is about having the rights to choose what happens to your body and yours alone. If you are pro vaccine choice that effects your body and the bodies & health of those around you, those around them, around them, etc..

Itll never make sense. Mind you none of us have ever caught polio or Measles because Vaccines. Everyone has those vaccines and guess what? We all who got those vaccines didnt have outbreaks of those viruses because you were REQUIRED to have those vaccines to attend public school. This situation is no different. Its ridiculous the People who feel like they are being held hostage are in turn holding EVERYONE ELSE HOSTAGE BECAUSE THEY WONT GET IT! Its insanity.

1) Vaccinated people have shorter/less severe illness when they do get it.
2) They will have fewer replication cycles and produce fewer virus copies.
3) They will thus infect, on average, fewer people.
4) Vaccinated people are anywhere from 16x-97x less likely to die from infection. If that number is just 3x, vaccination is still the smarter bet. It would be smarter even if transmission rates were the same for vaccinated and unvaccinated people, which they are not.
Herd immunity is not a solution, a strategy or a goal. It is a result. Those who acquire some level of immunity from infection while unvaccinated are gaining it with unnecessary risk, given that vaccines now exist. They also become more efficient vectors as noted above. The risk of death from the vaccines themselves is miniscule compared to that of infection while unvaccinated. Such infection is exactly what we've been trying to avoid since Covid-19 arrived, b/c the price of acquired immunity that way is 900,000 dead people. The purpose of widespread vaccination is, therefore, lessening transmission and mortality. Herd immunity will occur eventually but getting there via unvaccinated infection is entirely counter-productive. Why choose that?
I feel that if people refuse to protect their own and societies health, they don't need to be admitted to hospitals for treatment IF THEY DON'T HAVE PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE... They're willing to have Medicare or hospitals rescue them so they don't die, but why should they be allowed to bankrupt our health care system at will??

Costa Rica has a long history of stopping commerce when they collectively feel strongly about an issue. It doesn't happen often and is very effective when it does. They are not violent and it isn't only trucks it's cars and motorcycles and horses. It demonstrates the need for dialogue and action. It's actually something pretty amazing to see.
Being vegan isn't about eating vegan, it's about TELLING everybody that you're vegan. 😂 That said, what's on the menu for Fridays? 🤔
I have never met a vegan who somehow forgets to mention. I have never met anyone that I felt obligated to tell I love bones inmy meat.

That would produce more vegans. Choice and convenience. Back when I was in school we had fish Fridays; they said fish wasn't meat (our schools said fish wasn't meat, some said chicken wasn't meat, so ... fish and chicken weren't animals?).

I know it's a joke but vegans are actually improving the world. I eat less meat and soon will not eat it at all and I feel way better.

The metaverse consists of many games/worlds. Saying Facebook is the metaverse is like saying fortnite is all of video games. They're a small part of a much larger behemoth. On top of that. People don't even like Facebooks game. It's failing
A lot of my peers and friends have deleted their FB because of the lack of privacy policies for users and how ridiculously it hijacks all of the other apps on our phones.
It's just not satisfying anymore. I downloaded the 10+ years of photos I'd uploaded to it and then permanently deleted my account.
Caused me a weird feeling of panic for about five minutes and then the sense of peace I felt since I stopped using it settled back in.
It's actually really cool, when I decided to take a "Facebook break" I felt the urge to look at it constantly. Then that went away after like 3 days. After a week I was barely thinking about it anymore and a sense of anxiety I hadn't really realized was there faded very quickly.
You know what else happens exactly like that, from my own personal experience and hundreds of stories from others?
Nicotine withdrawal. Alcohol withdrawal. Drug withdrawal.

A vegan who eats fish is technically a pescatarian. It’s not a big deal. Still basically zero meat products. And fish is better for you than some meat, depending on how you make it.
