That 'valley' at the plate boundary is actually a 'rift', they aren't 'smashing together', they are 'rifting apart' and new oceanic crust is being pushed up into the rift. It's spreading at about 4 or 5 cms per year.
LOL... your video skills - shooting, talking, not to mention editing - have come a long way (away)... thankfully, your sense of fun and wonderment hasn't changed a bit.
