    How is it compared to the new KTM 500 EXC F ? I used to have a old WR450F and I was very happy with it but I sold it many years ago. Here in Norway the WR450 cost 30% more with plates then the KTM 500 because of higher tax as it has more HP on paper because of the effect restrictions KTMs come with by default (1/3 of full effect on the 500). The WR450 cost 10% more then the KTM 500 even without the plates so it is really at disadvantage already at the price tag.... I did end up baying a 2019 KTM 500 EXC F and I am very happy with it, considerable more power then the old WR450 while still easy to control the power and a lot lighter both in weight and feel. The 500 feel just the same to me as the KTM 300 2 stroke, that is how light it is...
    If the WR450F was not more expencive then KTM I would consider bying one for the longer service intervals. But the service on the KTM is more easy to do then at least on the old WR450 so it is not really that different when you take that into consideration.

      Nice one you made a good choice the 500 is a the best 4 stroke made but I like the 300 because there nothing like power band i had the 500 and 300 both nice bikes

    • @a64738
      @a64738 Před 5 lety

      2 strokes are fun to ride :) Just wish the 300 2 stroke had a bit more of that addictive rush of power you get when you hit the power band. I would probably love a 450 or 500 2 stroke with balance axle to cancel out the vibrations.

The Australian and European versions come with an unlocked ECU, do to your laws you get a bike that is rather restricted stock - low flow exhaust and locked ECU. We believe you can purchase a replacement ECU (AU/EU version) which will give you the adjustment capabilities in our review. Have a chat to your local Yamaha dealer to find out more

    No kick start?
    Why is making a bike LESS reliable always considered more "modern"? If you don't like to kick the bike, then just don't use it. Give those who DON'T have legs made of toothpicks an option to start it.
    If you're bike is too big for you to kick start, you have no business riding it.
