      Great work on your maps. I made a comment to the video, your art and talent really brings the simple layout of the dungeon to such a vibrant life.

    8:18 Point 5: “Time and senseless destruction can turn any wall into a potential door”
    Words to adventure by, if ever I heard em.

    Happy to see there's a level 5-6 adventure in here.
    It seems like 95% of all OSR adventures are for levels 1-2 and have no expectation of PCs playing for a full campaign.

      Yeah I love me a level 1 dungeon, but it's great to have more variety.

      Easy to make low level adventures harder, slightly less so the reverse. But, make all adventures beginner level and rely on GMs to increase difficulty as required and then all those adventures become usable at any level.

    Just picked this up. I still haven't run any of Brad Kerr's adventures, but I looove reading them and 3 are waiting to be discovered in my Dolmenwood Campaign.

    Having run Hideous Daylight and read Temple of 1000 Swords I'll be buying that tonight.

    Loving this , I feel like this is right up my alley, and on my to get list, I especially like the "book/adventure suggestions" to drop in a hex, I have a similar idea of naming published scenarios/modules that Inspired me and or to use in a way on the hex/map/setting if I ever man up and attempt to put out some ttrpg/osr content ... For free at first with ya know delusions of getting good at it and having a number of people willing to pay for modules/adventures/scenarios I put out/work on

    I love the smaller format of the book and the layout. This is often overlooked but imho the book design is more important than the adventure design itself. Because you dont get to play the adventures if reading the book is a chore.

    Is there a campaign world to accompany those adventures? (I'm not familiar with Old School Esssentials)

    • @HankHill11
      @HankHill11 Před rokem +4

      In the video he shows the hex crawl map included as well as a town. if your asking about something akin to "the forgotten realms" then you could use something like that if you wanted, Greyhawk and forgotten realms were created back in the 70's and 80s when "old school essentials" was THE GAME and not a niche supplement ha

    • @QuestingBeast
      @QuestingBeast  Před rokem +5

      It assumes a generic fantasy world. All the adventures fit together or can be dropped piecemeal into your home campaign.

  • @thechaotimagnet

    Ok only at 3:23, I just have to say that the dungeon map looks like it was based off of a map from donjon.bin.sh. That is a complement to both the generator and the artist since it shows that random dungeon tools can be given such life with a bit of a human touch.

    • @QuestingBeast

      The guy who did the maps is actually in this comment section somewhere.
