    No mention about the safety cage. Recently one of our employees had placed her left hand on the machine near the start switch (for her balance) while she had her right arm down inside the bowl. I told her never to place her hands anywhere near the switch or even on any part of the machine while one of her arms was near or inside the bowl. Now I’m looking into safety cages so she or someone else won’t lose an arm. (It was bought used and didn’t come with one)

    Hello I have a 60 qt hobart and the hook sometimes get’s stuck on the agitator pin. The pin looks worn down on one side and we bought the replacement already. But we cannot get the pin to budge. Any suggestions?your help is greatly appreciated.

    • @Windycityequip
      @Windycityequip  Před 4 lety +1

      Changing this pin can be challenging. There should be a hex cap on the very bottom of the shaft, you need to remove that. Then there with be an allen screw inside the shaft you need to remove, than ANOTHER allen screw underneath that one. Once you remove all of those, you should be able to press the pin out (sometimes it will need to be hammered) and put the new one in. Make sure you put everything back the way it came out. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

      levipaka It sounds to me like your motor may be shutting down on overload. Have you made any changes to your dough recently that may be causing the mixer to work harder? If not, you may either have a motor that needs to be replaced OR, if your lucky, you just need to replace the motor capacitor. I would start with the capacitor because it is significantly less expensive than a motor. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!!

    Hi - how do I replace the oil gauge sight glass? Does it pop out with a pry tool from the outside? Does the replacement simply pop in afterward?

    • @Windycityequip

      If the hook isn't removed for some time it can get stuck. Sometimes it even takes a professional to remove it via torches and rubber mallets. Thanks for watching!

    Question for you sir: what number gear should I grate cheese?

    • @Windycityequip
      @Windycityequip  Před 5 lety

      Technically, if the cheese isn't frozen you can great at high speed, only the meat and food chopper needs to be run in speeds 2-3. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

    Hi i have a question. I just purchased a h600 hobart and the turning wheel is missing a gear so it isnt winding up the wheel is just spinning. Can you show me a picture or video on the assembly of is so i can order the missing parts. I saw a manufactures diagram but still. couldnt tell what was missing. Thank you

    • @Windycityequip
      @Windycityequip  Před 5 lety

      All I have right now is the diagram, but if you can remove the lid and send me send me a picture of the mechanism, I should be able to tell you what's missing! A lot of times, it's not a gear, but rather a broken pin so a shaft is just spinning. Sometimes the threaded rod comes undone from the castle nut that holds it in place as well. Can be a real pain in the ass to fix. But if you can send me some pics I'll do my best to identify the problem. Thanks for watching!

      I received your pictures and have a couple of questions. When you turn the crank, does that main gear turn with it? If it does, do you see the secondary gear turning as well? I know that secondary may be a little hard to see, but try your best. If the secondary gear is turning, but your threaded rod is NOT, then you likely have a castle nut that came loose and dropped the shaft down. This can be a pain in the ass to fix and I've only successfully repaired one, WITHOUT removing the entire assembly once. And that's because I have small hands lol. if the threaded rod is turning you probably have a stripped lift nut. And if none of the gears are turning, you have a broken roll pin in the handle. Hope this helps, let me know what you find!

      @@Windycityequip when i turn the lifting handle the gear that you can see clearly is not connecting to the other gear that is not clearly seen.when i turn the threaded rod that the nut goes through the gear that is in the picture that is not clearly seen moves but it is not connected to the smaller gear to the lifting handle gear. It seems to be missing something to connect them but i dont know what. Its hard to get the phone in to take a better picture. I dont know if you have any h600 that you can take a picture or a short video to show me how it works would appreciate it. Thanks for replying

    All gears are slupping on my mashine here So do i need to fill the oil. An d can u please tell me what type of oil is used ? Thank you

    • @Windycityequip
      @Windycityequip  Před 6 lety

      If the gears are slipping, my guess is that the teeth are worn down. You'll probably have to get the trans rebuilt, or at least those gears inspected and replaced. Thanks for watching!

      That video is a bit in-depth and involves dropping the planetary and pressing out the old shaft. We don't have to do that often, but the next time it has to be done I'll try to get a camera on it. Thanks for watching!

    • @Windycityequip
      @Windycityequip  Před 6 lety

      That usually means that the oil is overfilled. The oil level should be below the front shaft hub.

    • @Windycityequip
      @Windycityequip  Před 8 lety

      +OMyVa Sounds like you may have lost a power leg to the motor. You may want to make sure you are getting full power from the outlet to the plus, through the cord, and to the contactor before you check anything else. If you find you are getting full power then it may be time to check the motor or transmission. If it gets to that point, I highly recommend you call out a professional. Thanks for watching!
