    I’ve been testing berries - if you harvest every berry between growth ticks, a normal deposit yields 440 berries per season. If foraging huts and granary are placed just right, can be done with 3 families assigned, 2 foragers and 1 granary. Growth starts in mid-March and continues through mid-June, and occurs in 11 ticks of 40 berries each. A rich deposit has twice as many bushes, so 80 berries per tick or 880 berries per season (and twice the # of foraging huts and granaries).

    Mostly I hope the dev will fix the mercenary problem late game... The mercs should not be removed permanently from the pool at any point just because the Baron is hiring them once.

      yeah thats been in there and annoying. I hope they add more to the pool besides 3

    Great stuff, thank you!
    Food in new patch/today:
    * Animals/meat. I just had an amazing run. first and second perks on meat, and my town of 200 had 1000 surplus of meat. (also want the policy to double the respawn). 2 hunter camps, and 2 workers only.
    *Berry perk and enough people (6+) in the workplace (between Feb -Nov) will net your 800-1000
    *Apples: another great perk - big house plots. You can overflow your town with apples
    *Veg: plot farms. Enough said
    *Honey: aviaries seem broken in new patch. Only 1 game and no matter how many people were inside I only got 1 honey a "tic". Pre patch: with 4 people in each aviary, I could maintain ~600+ honey
    *bread: haven't figured out a fast/easy way to start a town... but later game with enough people and the bread perk, you can maintain bread and have super surplus to sell
    Market patch:
    * no idea on how stalls are filled and what is used to distributed the foods/goods. But works for me is only 12 stall markets. And trying to get granary/storage workers to be stall owners.

      I need to try the meat perk, I heard it wasnt good but never dedicated a game to it. Does it really offer a big jump? I guess with rich animals it would be wesome

    If you do the trapping and double meat perk + the Policy for twice the spawn rate, you can turn a rich animal deposit into hundreds of meat. This is great if you're in a zone with crappy fertility. Use 2 hunting camps with 1 hunter each so the pantries don't fill up too fast.

    Influence and cash generating combat tip on higher difficulty from Strat Gaming - if you build your manor as fast as possible, you’ll get your 5 retinue. When a bandit camp appears march your 5 retinue troops near it but not near enough to trigger the bandits.
    Wait for the AI Baron’s troops to march towards the bandits.
    Now, march your 5 retinue troops just in front of the Baron’s men. They won’t attack you - they’re after the bandits.
    When the bandits have marched close and begin charging you - you charge them before the Baron does. Just after you charge, the Baron’s troops will charge in behind you - helping out.
    You will easily defeat the bandits- and also gain the influence. Now run over and destroy their camp for the cash too.
    This method means you can gain influence and cash with absolutely zero town militia. You can then use the cash to hire mercenaries if you like.

    • @phineasgage8252
      @phineasgage8252 Před 25 dny

      You dont have to attack the bandits first though? Or have you tested and noticed that that keeps the baron from getting the influence too?

    • @qd5683
      @qd5683 Před 25 dny

      @@phineasgage8252 I've noticed when I attack first I always get the influence. If they attack first I sometimes do not get influence. I assume the Baron always gets influence because he is always claiming territory.

    Eggs can be alright in some cases. Bread, vegetables and apple production all take a long time to get going. If you want to keep approval high and also upgrade to higher tier burgage plots asap they are a good way to keep the more demanding villagers happy and provide some food variety bonus. You can always change the plot extension later. Probably better than trading for food early game since you theoretically get infinite eggs for 15g with no villager work time needed. It's also not like plot extensions are difficult to get. They are a pretty good bandaid if you upgrade plots too fast before you have a steady supply of different foods.

    • @Flesson19
      @Flesson19  Před 25 dny +1

      I thought only 2 eggs were produced per plot, so half of the plots would need to be eggs to get everyone theirs. I didnt think plot level added any

    • @ype8921
      @ype8921 Před 25 dny

      @@Flesson19 Oh production does not increase with higher burgage plots afaik. I meant it like this: If you want to rush up an artisan shop for trade as fast as possible at the start of the game but do not want to deal with the loss of approval. Set up artisan shops closest to the market, add chicken extension to tier 1 plots further from the markets and now you can fullfill the 3 food requirement for the artisan shops. Veggies, bread and apples all take time but with eggs you can mitigate the approval loss from not having enough food variety, as you can have berries, meat and eggs. Makes it easier to get approval up at the start of the game while also having up trade early

    • @salionshatterstar
      @salionshatterstar Před 25 dny +1

      I had thought the release version reduced it to 1 egg per plot, though I haven't tested it yet myself to confirm. Even so, if you have enough variety of food types, eggs can probably hold their weight as a viable option. i.e. if you stock 6 food types, one egg will suffice for 6 families, so a coop in 1/6 of your burgage plots will keep you more or less stocked. Or if you stock 4 food types, a coop in every fourth house will do. And if it is 2 eggs per plot, it would double that capacity. Eggs don't scale as well as veggies/apples/wheat, but considering they don't require labor, they're not too bad. Theoretically. Tests pending.

    • @Flesson19
      @Flesson19  Před 24 dny

      @@salionshatterstar Someone else tested and he said 2 per plot. If it scaled with plot tier then I think they would be good

    Tip: militia units are recruited in the province you are looking at.
    So its no use to recruit all 6 in only your first province, as thats hard to fill ranks/kills work flow.
    Claim 3 or 4 provinces before you build your manor to get max troops.

      the 2nd and 3rd bandit camp goes to my treasury. Also get you approval up so you can build a manor fast and start taxing. I get a lot of money it town trading so I get a bunch of taxes.

    I disagree about meat. First, it's not something you need to do 100% of the time, but it provides a source of clothing via leather and skins. It's not something you'll profit from, but it does help keep people happy.

    • @Flesson19

    Do apples work correctly now?

    • @jeremymoser2558
      @jeremymoser2558 Před 25 dny +2

      Apples do work, but it takes a LONG time. Not only do they take 3 years to reach full potential, the plot's pantry must be totally full before the apples reach the granary and the market. In the long term, apples are great, but for a faster start I much prefer meat.

    • @salionshatterstar
      @salionshatterstar Před 25 dny

      The experimental patch fixes the issue with the pantry; food is now removed from burgages by granaries as it's generated. Or at least, it is with veggies. Haven't confirmed with apples yet, but I imagine it's the same.
