Darci Lynne - Super talented young girl whose only been doing this for 2 years, others - Doing it for 10years, but comes up with a sad sob story/ is blind/ wins pity votes. Look at the failed magician who won before, he won through pulling out an old war vet, his act was a copy act done before on the show and he did it worse. So his act sucked. But it didn't matter, he beat people better then him because of the pity votes. Its how you win this competition more so then talent.

It's not about the piece of paper in his hand. It's about how he is able to mentally convince an entire audience that magic is "real" with a simple trick.

It is. Because he messed up. Had he was more slick about it, it would have been a great performance.
We're rating his "Performance", every little details counts. Especially since the price is for 1 MILLION and a live vegas show.
It would have been better had he not TOUCH the paper and let Heidi select the tweet on her own.
This is why he didn't make it through. All that extra he did in the vid, meant nothing when the trick was already discovered way before all that.

I think I figured it out.
Pay close attention to his right hand at 3:06 when he takes the card. Notice how up until that point he only needed one hand but after that he suddenly needed two. And notice how weird he's holding the card when he let's the judge read it.
I believe that that tweet is actually a sticker which he put over the real tweet which could have been rehersed thousands of times just to get it right so it looks real.
Also didn't anyone hear what he said it the beginning: "I'm risk my future..." which could be addressed to the probability of him being caught.
As for the judges picking that exact tweet out of them all, look at the card when he shows it to the public. Notice how that tweet is the only one with emoticons, therefore more likely to be seen and more likely to be picked. As for the "signs" he "put" to make them pick that tweet, that actually could have worked but I highly doubt it that he managed to be so close to them without being caught. Maybe he actually did manage to pull it off. I guess we will never know.
This is just what I think happened. My asumption could be totally wrong but I really can't figure out any other way to make this trick work.

I was thinking the same a sticker on the paper and he choosed heidi because no glasses, a girl is more sensible to emoticones, which is true.
Maybe it's not this but yeah would make sense to me
Actually if from 3:05 you put the video to 0.25x speed, you see he forced mel to choose face down, to never remember what was originally written on the paper, and no one can actually see it until Colin touches it.
We also know he went really quickly with Mel B, couldn't really spend time checking names and stuff.
Sadly with the motion blur we can't see if he actually holds something in the hand after grabby the paper but he surely had his hand in the pocket.
You also realize how he deeply stare in Heidi's eyes to see if she catches the trick while he possibly sticks something on the paper.
IMPRESSIVE !!!! AT 4:04 he also asks if someone has the same combination, he repeatly says : "no", pointing public, "no" pointing public and "no" POINTING HIS OWN PAPER, because he knows that even this paper didn't have the combination !!
It's incredible how he got tricked by his own body language due to the stress !!

In body language it basically means "i know i'm wrong but i want to convince you"

Funny that they edited out the part where you could see him slip the paper onto the card. Him stalking the judges was pretty funny but these kind of tricks are really simple he just played it up really well.

Notice when he is getting her to pick the tweet he uses his whole hand and he wont even let her hold the sheet. He has a small paper in his hands with the words on them and when she tells him to stop he sticks it to the sheet and asks her to read it while he is still holding it in place.

Ella Winberg when the judge was picking the tweet to use he had the tweet cut out behind his hand so she knows which one to pick, when he asked does anyone else have the tweet someone said they do in the audience proving they had printed multiple copies of tweets.
