    Separating out the specific parts and tools for each of the seven step assembly process steps was brilliant on the part of the manufacturer. For the price, I am impressed at how sturdy this czcams.com/users/postUgkxvObaTzoHoHQLL4lHbJQmExHqsrZQm-f7 unit is and it does go together easily. Well, I was puzzled at first at Step 5 and maybe the instructions should mention that rail #62 needs to be tilted upwards a little to get the rail to fit into the main part #44. I like it that the rower can be stored vertically in a really small amount of space, but be forewarned that this rower is top heavy and for safety you'll need at least two bungee cords to keep the unit upright, attaching them to something; in my case to a third garage door. I have had this unit only a short time, and I will post an update once I've had it for a year. As for working your legs, I have to admit that I'm mainly rowing for upper body strength and I use other forms of exercise for leg strength (like walking fast, biking, or using a trampoline. But if you pull as far forward as possible, then you can give preference to your legs for the first 4 feet or so of travel. I also admit to not taking the two electronic connectors apart at Step 7. I simply inserted the two batteries while the other parts remained connected. By the way, there is plenty of resistance here, even in the lowest resistance settings. Kudos to Sunny Health & Fitness !

    Definitely tempting - I'm already part of the Peloton universe, so linking it with my app and other exercises is intriguing, I like the instructors for motivation and some occasional laughs, and the form-assist (I have terrible form!) and the one armed thing (one of my arms is injured) are big for me. I have the Ergatta, which is beautiful and calming with the real water sounds, but the gamification has gotten boring and my form must be off even after watching a billion CZcams vids. Great video, thanks!!

    Speaking as a college and current competitive rower ... no. The seat is designed for a heavy person, not an athlete; the foot buckles aren't durable; the output isn't consistent/relatable/compatible to the leading rowing power/distance standards used by Concept2 and RP3. The feet are too wide apart -- freeze the video at 3:53 and you'll see what I mean, that is not healthy for the knees, hips, and back in the long run if you are pulling really hard. I expect you can still get a workout at moderate pace but I don't think people are going to consider this a real alternative for strong rowers.

      I must have missed that part of the video (admittedly I was trying to multitask while watching). I currently have both the Concept 2 Bike and the Concept 2 Rower. I also have the $12 Peloton App that doesn't require Peloton hardware or equipment. And, I currently use their bike classes all the time. Sure, you don't get the social aspects and get their own data (I don't need that because I have the Concept 2 Ergdata app which then syncs all the data with my Garmin watch), but you can use the class, and it's great. I was hoping to use the rowing classes in the same way. Sure, the Form Assist and all of the social stuff I won't get, but I personally don't care about that. I just want the classes, which I think I should be able to get for $12 per month. I don't have any Peloton equipment and don't plan to, but their standalone app is great.

    I still don't get this. You're paying $2100 more for a erg (yes it's called an Erg by rowers) over the Olympic-class, world recognized Concept2 rowers that are built far better. All the dry regattas use C2s. I've rowed on C2 rowers that were nearly ten years old that were still in perfect working order. Plus -you can also add various tablet apps for less per month with the C2 by bluetooth.
    A pull chain that will fray? Where's the bluetooth to expand into my own apps? Metal that will get scuffed over time? Peloton clearly wasn't making a rower for athletes or - people who have google search.
    Do your self a favor, buy a C2 and use the remaining money to buy two more for your friends and family. Then you can have fun races together.

    It looks great for a beginners / casual recreational activity and the interactive feature is much better than having someone without any knowledge go in blind.
    But! Please educate your coaches to row with better form, rowers do not break the knees before the body rocks forwards.
    Also for the price it doesn't look very durable, infact it looks like it is designed to fall apart after some use! I have been rowing on the same Concept2 (which is half the price) for the past 3 years racking over 13 million metres, I've only had to replace the shock cord once which set me back USD$6.

      I read an article that said they will not have the rowing classes on the Peloton app. Not sure if this is true but that’s what they said. Peloton is obviously in the red and they’re trying to squeeze every penny out of this rower. I have a Hydrow and was considering selling it to buy this and save on subscription fees (we have the bike+) but no way for this price. I’d seriously miss seeing my coaches on the water, it’s a totally different experience from the bike and in my opinion, far better. From what I see the Peloton rower doesn’t hold a candle to the Hydrow.

    Peloton should exit the hardware business if they have to charge that much. Focus on the app and let c2 do the hardware. I don't see how they sell enough of these to be profitable. Rowing is a niche and this is 50% over priced. I wanted to like this but am now seriously doubting the long term financial health of pton.

    • @daifanshi5564
      @daifanshi5564 Před rokem +2

      At $3200 they have room for margin for the actual rower costs. I read somewhere Peloton will not be losing money on the rower. But I agree they are far better off focusing on software and content for rowers that already exist in the market. There are a lot of people with Concept2's and WaterRowers looking for better content.
