The Peloton rower has long been in the works, and now it's finally here. This is my initial Peloton Rowing machine review, I'll show you everything I learned about it while at the peloton store testing it out and learning the features. I'm really impressed by the form assist feature, as well as the form rating and insights this home workout rowing machine can provide. Let me know your thoughts below!
Separating out the specific parts and tools for each of the seven step assembly process steps was brilliant on the part of the manufacturer. For the price, I am impressed at how sturdy this czcams.com/users/postUgkxvObaTzoHoHQLL4lHbJQmExHqsrZQm-f7 unit is and it does go together easily. Well, I was puzzled at first at Step 5 and maybe the instructions should mention that rail #62 needs to be tilted upwards a little to get the rail to fit into the main part #44. I like it that the rower can be stored vertically in a really small amount of space, but be forewarned that this rower is top heavy and for safety you'll need at least two bungee cords to keep the unit upright, attaching them to something; in my case to a third garage door. I have had this unit only a short time, and I will post an update once I've had it for a year. As for working your legs, I have to admit that I'm mainly rowing for upper body strength and I use other forms of exercise for leg strength (like walking fast, biking, or using a trampoline. But if you pull as far forward as possible, then you can give preference to your legs for the first 4 feet or so of travel. I also admit to not taking the two electronic connectors apart at Step 7. I simply inserted the two batteries while the other parts remained connected. By the way, there is plenty of resistance here, even in the lowest resistance settings. Kudos to Sunny Health & Fitness !
Thank you!!!! everything is so thoroughly explained
Just ordered mine, great review!
Excellent review! Very informative and impartial. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I'm always impressed how you fit your gym equipment in your apartment. I only need two gym equipment for my small one bedroom. I think the row would fit length horizontal wise under my tv unit.
Thanks for the video. I tried that exact machine in the promenade. I used to row on the crew team and currently go to a rowing Hiit workout. I could use the peloton a lot, but I am not down with also having to be stuck with a. monthly fee. Also, kayaking is not rowing.
Good info!! I really love my Hydrow rower and I’d consider the new smaller Hydrow if I were in the market for a new rower. You just can not beat the on water instructor rows that Hydrow offers.
I agree, hydrow looks great
Absolutely agree. I use the Concept 2 with Ipad streaming to 55 inch TV with Hydrow app. Their coaches remind me my PT with on water experience. Real knowledge, beautiful pictures and good playlists.
@@balcerzaq Yeeesssss!!
If they prices it $1,500 to $2,000 for the top package and cut the subscription to $19.99 Peloton could save itself from bankruptcy
😂 maybe, that PTON just keeps dropping
Except concept 2 still beats it
@qtVel I'm not knocking the concept 2 but it doesn't have any smart features. Kinda like buying a car without ac/heat, radio, hand roll up windows and a stick shift compared to a fully loaded car with car play and android auto. The both going to get you from point A to point B
@@eclecticgentleman Except for erging competitions you need a concept 2 and it's the standard across the board
@@velqt You are right most competitions aren't going to spend the money on high-end equipment they're going to get the basic model like the concept too. Again I'm not belittling the concept too I'm just saying it's a strip down barebones basic model and nowadays people like their equipment to have smart features. There's nothing wrong with either one get whatever you can afford and be happy
No chance I'd even think about spending that much but thank you for actual information (instead of all the "stay tuned" comments from the company).
I was so hopeful for the rower release but we purchased a waterrower 2 years ago and couldn't be happier with the Cityrow app. At the price point I don't think we will be upgrading unfortunately but if we do it would probably be the new hydro rower. I love their on the water classes
True true, seems like nobody is buying this thing
Now I want one.
Right!? 😱
Haha, I kinda do too
Great video…only one to show storage of the rower
I can't seem to find any answers, I bought a new peloton row and i did the calibration, set maximum drag, and max difficulty at 10 and still i feel almost nothing in the first part of the stroke where you are only moving your legs i have not used a row before so I can't tell if its normal or total garbage
Hydrow is considerably cheaper and has much better classes as they are on the water. Way more interesting in my opinion. I have the Peleton tread and it is a great piece of machinery so I have no doubt this is as well but the cost is absurd. I am not happy paying for two different subscription models (Hydrow and Peleton) but they are cheaper than than an F45 or OTF membership and in the comfort of my own home. Great review btw.
Thank you. I feel like they’re gonna have to cut the price to sell these things, time shall tell
But isn't the Hydrow really noisy?
@@TruOmilade not at all. I honestly don’t even notice it when I’m rowing and I’ve used this at 3:30am and haven’t woken a soul in my house. There’s nothing like classes on the water in so many beautiful locations
I'd be curious to see how it compares to the Concept 2 rower...that rower is the bomb, imo. Love your reviews! Thank you for making this review!
Totally different ballgame. Interactive, quiet (almost silent), subscription fee, etc. You can row on both.
Had a concept 2 for 12 years. The best rower year after year. The Peloton sells its big screen electronics not the rower. Its way too expensive.
@@aljay2955 I agree. I am just saying there is no point in a comparison video.
@@aljay2955 realize price is subjective to everyone! My gym has the concept rowers and I personally think those rowers are very ugly and look outdated! I actually care about how my equipment looks and nope I will not be getting a super ugly concept rower! The peloton rower looks sleek and upscale! I don’t have a problem with the price of the peloton rower! Alot of people can afford that price and some can't!
@@aljay2955 i have it for 15 years. bought 2nd hand. Over that period, i have used it 3 days/ week. Still going strong. nothing broken. still happy with my PM2 monitor. best equipment ever.
This is crazy, this is over 3 times the price of my Concept2 rower. The Hydrow looks way better and costs less too. I am considering selling my Concept2 and getting a Hydrow, definitely wouldn't get this, I wouldn't even pick this over my Concept2 for the same money. My list goes Hydrow at the top, Ergatta or Aviron below that and then Concept2 below that.
Totally agree, the price seems outrageous compared to what else you can get. The Hydrow and the Concept2 both seem to be excellent choices for rowing, ergatta seems cool too, it’s basically the same bones as the water tower I reviewed with the screen and metrics connectivity.
I would totaly sell my C2 too and buy a hydrow. But its not aviable in Germany
Just dont, connest C2 to massive TV and use the app on your Ipad - better experience - immersion!
I want a rower because I love my Peloton bike, but the price is really expensive.
Where they go wrong is not allowing those who already have a rower to utilize those classes - as well as the high cost of this rower.
Technically you could sign up for the peloton digital app and use the Peloton classes to follow along with any rower, you’re just not going to get the metrics and all of the cool connectivity and form assist features. I could see this being a popular option for people to buy a less expensive rower, like some of the other ones I reviewed on my channel, and then use the top tier studio classes that Peloton delivers on.
@@TailHappyTV peloton stated that you have to have their rower to access their rowing classes. It’s not accessible via app
@@JustSheilz That's awful. I have a Concept2 Rower and the Concept2 Bike. I use the Peloton app bike classes all the time and was hoping to do the same with rowing classes. Where have you seen where Peloton is not making them accessible via the app? This is making me reconsider continuing with their app. Thanks.
@@jasonlevine2430 It has been mentioned in the updated TOS as well as several other videos about the rower.
Many members with a tread are currently complaining they only get tread classes and not any others.
@@JustSheilz thanks. I also found it on their FAQs about the rower. Said no rowing classes on the App at launch. That at least gives some hope they'll at it later. Not holding my breath though. There's plenty of good rowing content and other apps out there for my C2. I'll be passing on this 3k+ no financing option.
no point in buying anything but a c2 or an rp3 if you actually use the machine for rowing and not just general fitness. C2 is the standard without a doubt and for good reason. The rp3 is more expensive and will give the best feeling to replicate the feel of being in a boat. It will also give more accurate and in detail feed back about the power curve which can be helpful. All these other machines are a waste of money and they scam clueless people into buying an ineffective machine for more money than should be spent.
If I had 3.2k to spend on exercise equipment I would buy a Concept2 rower, a ski-erg, an assault bike and some weights.
I don’t know, I love the bike and ride probably 6 days a week. I’d like to change up workout and eventually get this. Im sure it’s good for your back and chest and legs. My main concern is just boredom with the work out. This obviously makes no sense because biking is a repetitive movements as well. I’m not sure why, I just don’t love rowing.
I enjoy boring respective workouts over complex workouts, I feel like they cause less mental fatigue because you can listen audiobook or watch tv
You never see a tester using the machine the way most of us would use it, such as using its version of "just row" and programming intervals. Does it do that?
Yes, I demo it in the video
@@TailHappyTV Yes, it has a Just Row function, but can you program in your own workout? My guess is no, you cannot, for if you could that would lessen the incentive to pay the subscription.
Why on earth would anyone spend $3200 on a rower considering the company that ushered in indoor rowing machines (Concept 2) unveiled them 41 years ago, making still today a fantastic rower for 1/3 the cost. Peloton even shamelessly ripped off the design shown here made by C2 clear back in 1986.
Haha this is the real question to ask
I can’t even see the screen on the concept at all. Outdated
@@p.sherman3158 Well I had no trouble for 21 years.
@@michaelschramm1064 well good for you. Your eyes are better than mine. 👍🏻
how can this help u lose weight?
How does it get power? I don’t see a cord on this video.🤷♂️
There was a discrete outlet on the floor
It is an absolute joke selling smart rower with 20 exercises for 3k. I know they will get more eventually but at this hilarious price point it is desperate of them.
Its far too expensive. I would go with the new hydrow
Seems like a solid choice, happy rowing
Concept 2 with a Hydrow app - even cheaper.
4:20. Simpsons?
Price gouging for people with money to burn
I’ll stick with my Hydrow.
Ugh! I bought a rower because I didn’t want to have to deal with people in the gym and keep paying subscriptions. Peloton brings them both to your house. No thanks.
i want but to expensive for my wallet..i have the peloton bike..
If price realllyyyy is driving consumer decision… Pelton products ain’t for you. Like Everyyyy single review is about price. Okay… so any actual criticism about the machine? Hmmmm…, 😂😂😂
