First trip to Aberystwyth a couple of weeks back. Your video was really helpful for finding our way in. Thanks!

Tricky manoeuvre to berth, but very calmly executed by you both...thanks for info about the marina and approaches.

My first sailboat also came with a bowtruster, I used to refer to it as the prop of shame ,,,,, if I ever used it,,,, it would be after I started to recognize the making of a self made disaster. Now I have a boat without a bowtruster, and what I have realized that I plan my "difficulties" better.
    Best regards from Jarle

Hi Jarle, well I like the easy of back up it gives. I don’t use it 90% of the time but when there is a cross wind or current in an unknown marina that grabs you suddenly it’s still a godsend. Would never of had one fitted but while this one is there it will remain my secret weapon mike

This marina surely ranks up there with the tricky ones! I wonder if there is a top of the charts somewhere? 😎

great video for anyone planning going to that marina ,would,ve loved to have seen it at low water and it nearly all dried out ,that,ll most likely be years of neglect and council not spending money to dredge the harbour happening all over ,imagine when it was a busy fishing or cargo port it would ve been dredged twice a year or ongoing

Hi Nobody, it doesn’t dry out properly water just mostly empty’s but most boats still float. I remember years ago visiting and there was only a couple of berths. It’s grown quite a bit but like you say is now at the point where maintenance is required. You never know it may be getting it as I’ve not visited for a couple of years. Some marina owners need a stick of dynamite placing strategically to make them do anything. Maintenance gets in the way of profits!
Still everywhere is worth a visit because it’s the towns and people who make places great. Regards mike

Any day the dolphins visit you and swim on their sides to get a better look at you looking at them, is a great day.
