    Parabéns pela subtileza e qualidade do vídeo que conseguiu captou a beleza, harmonia e tranquilidade que ainda existe em Portugal.

      We followed the arrows most of the time, however, as a back up we had downloaded maps from Caminoways website to Ride with GPS.

    Hola. I went back and watched you video one more time. I still liked it. Here are some questions: 1 Where did you stay or what albergues did you stay.? I am asking this because I am going to rent my bike and I do not want any problem with it. 2 How did you went from Caminha to Valenca/Tui. ? Did you cross to Spain to Agueda or did you satay on the Portugal side and how did you went to Valenca/Tui? If the terrain very hard or easy? Gracias. Luis from Ocala, Florida USA.

      Hi Luis
      Since it's been a while I forgot most of the details. I had taken some notes and put them on a forum. link is : www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/cycling-the-camino-portugues-notes-observations.41424/
      Try and see if anything there can be of help.
      Re Albergues - well between Lisbon and POrto I did not find that many Albergues but we stayed in small guesthouses mainly.
      Re Crossing to Spain I remember it was over a gorgeous bridge, I believe it was in Tui
      Re Terrain - the Roman roads killed are bottoms :-) and yes we did find some rough terrain, a mix really so be prepared for all types.
      Hope this helps. Sorry for the delay but I have overlooked our comment.
      Regards

    Beautiful video, I cycled from Lisbon to Santiago following the coast September 2019. My Camino started in Porto. Did you follow the walking route all the way? Were there any sections that were impassable? I only followed the walking route fully on the final day which was enchanting. Your video brought back lots of memories, thankyou :)

      We did stick to the walkers’ route most of the way but we did find some areas we had to push! Caminos are lovely experiences. I did the Francaise too. I’m hoping to do the Norte at some point...might opt for an ebike though.

    Hello, I am enjoying your video and all the information that you girls have. I am planning to go to el camino portugues and do it on a bike from Lisboa to Santiago. I am renting a bikefrom a company call, bike iberia but I am planning to take a backpack with less than 9 kilograms and put it attached to the rack. Do you think that this is a good idea all should I rent a bike with pannies. Gracias

      @michagrech  Před 3 lety

      Hi Luis. I think panniers would be better. You will be passing through some rough ground and the backpack will keep moving and it will annoy you. Keep the weight as low as possible. We had about 7 kgs. Buon Camino. Enjoy

    Excellent Video! You ladies have moxie! Thanks for sharing. Any sage advice? I'm doing the trip in a month. Porto to Santiago. I'm riding alone. Taking the coastal route. Any place I should stop for sure? Any provision I should take for sure?

      @michagrech  Před 6 lety

      Hi..thanks for your comments. I had prepared some notes on my return. will post link here. The places we stopped, also mentioned in the notes were all excellent. Re provisions, take lots of water as it can get very hot...also, make sure you eat as many Pasteis de Nata before you cross the border as they are a Portughese speciality! :-)

    Hi what did you do with the bike boxes at Porto Airport did you store them there?

  • @bigeye6598

    Again. Really cool video. I'm riding from Porto to Santiago along the coastal route in August. I'm trying to decide whether to bring my own pedals and riding shoes or just stick with the flat pedals the rental bike comes with. Any opinions?

    • @michagrech
      @michagrech  Před 6 lety

      If you're doing the walker's route that is going off road I would stick to the normal pedals. Parts of this Camino are a rather rough. I felt safer this way.

    Is the coastal route well signposted? What towns/route did you follow?
