- The new 2018 Trek Remedy 8 is fantastic, I mean it, it has a great spec all-round and no glaring weakness. This bike is a beast with 160mm of travel yet is still super effecient.

Nice videos as always! Your talented film maker! This is the bike I got a couple of months ago and still haven't tested it fully cause of all the snow here in Sweden. But finally the snow has begun to melt so...soooon. Although it's kinda nice having a completely mint bike inside that you can caress when lonely it's meant to be ridden. Hard.... ;)

Comical how people write negative comments but they have no videos. Anyway, great video, always like them and you tend to review the bikes I’m interested in so - thanks! Question I keep coming back to regarding Trek is - Fuel EX vs Remedy, specifically the 8 models. Where do the true differences lie? Outside of travel and 27.5+ version. Appreciate any insight..

Thanks for watching Dan, I find it ironic too, feedback is always welcome but I get some people ripping me apart, makes me laugh though. There is a pretty big difference I think. The Fuel is 130mm and the remedy is 160mm, you'll notice the geometry for sure. The fuel will feel a ton more efficient with less travel and very responsive suspension not to mention the steeper geometry. The remedy will feel a bit slower on the flats and the climb, but give the rider a bunch more confidence on the descents. That being said, the descents need to be pretty aggressive to warrant a bike with 160mm's of travel. For an all-round bike, the Fuel is Treks @1 selling bike for a reason, it is quite phenomenal. Dan Davis You don't need to post videos to make critical comments or positive comments for that matter. That's nonsense. I think the video was very well done. It's clean, concise and to the point. The fuel is soooo nice looking, oh my gosh! I think the big difference between the Fuel and the Remedy is that the Remedy puts you within the realm of enduro racing quality. If you're not racing and just love riding trails then the Fuel is the way to go because it has better climbing capabilities due to its geometry. I have a Remedy but honestly a fuel would suit me better. I don't race anyone except my friends but I do climb up all the mountains I ride down lol. The Fuel is more wallet friendly and I think it is suited better for the casual mountain loving riders.

Hey dude, i'm not sure If I will, but I did reference it a lot in this video. I personally would not go with the 9.7 for reasons stated in the video.... Thats why they have it on sale. So it would have to make sense to you financially. The suspension difference is a couple hundred and the drive train is too.
ItsWend Hey there. I picked up a remedy 9.7 due to availability issues with the 8 and the 9.7 is just as good. If it's on sale you may even have money left over to buy a charger damper to turn the Yari into a Lyrik. Overall though it's a really good bike - I was a bit skeptical about the NX 1x11 but it's functional and offers crisp shifting if you dial it in properly, and I have found the need for a 12 speed cassette yet.
Yeah thanks guys, its really hard, im torn between this, and another bike that comes with a gx eagle and 10mm more suspension both ends, but its not carbon :/. Both are same price sooooooo, thanks alot. Also, there are only 2 remedy 9.7's left in Australia, so i may not even have time...
Six months later... the new 8 and 9.7 appear. Whole new ball game.

Am I the only person that thinks he sounds like he’s using auto tune when he speaks?
I know what you are talking about, it's when I add noise removal in post. It's annoying but hard to pick up unless you are wearing hedphones. Audio is the one thing I am trying to get dialed in, it's tough without good equipment..

I got a laugh when you said that Trek is on the higher side of pricing because I find it to be the other way around. They are competitively priced but they are not towards the higher end of the pricing range like some other brands.
Would you single track cross country ride this bike never riding more then 10 miles mostly up and down nothing to crazy looking for a all around bike to have alot of fun with
I wouldn't buy this bike. The fuel is probably a better option, and one you'd likely enjoy more.

take it apart, clean it, re-grease it, put it back together and torque it to spec.
