I had such a crush on Ricky when I was 17. I sent him my picture and requested a signed autograph. I got one and cherished it. He was always so groomed and those eyes! I know there were bigger singers like Elvis, but Ricky always had that home town, sweet face, and shy demeanor. The year he died he played after one of our Milwaukee Bucks basketball games. Most of the people left, but we flocked down to the front to see and hear him better. That was the last time we ever heard of Ricky. I was devastated, as I imagine SO many more people were, to hear of the fatal plane crash and his passing. I can hardly wait to get to heaven to hear him sing again, for all eternity! What a sweet man . . .

What you are seeing is the result of when a young man has lots of testosterone coursing through his system. And you get that by early struggle and then the realization of success. A man who is handsome has been tested and then relaxed to create that result. Men who struggle endlessly are not made more handsome by their struggles. And men with hopelessly confused features are at their core, confused.

James Burton, playing the Fender Telecaster behind Rick, was a star in his own right. Not only did he back Ricky for years, Burton also played lead gutiar for The King (Elvis) up until Presley's death. As late as 2010 James Burton was the honored guest at Eric Clapton's "Crossroads" gutiar festival in Chicago. During his years with Ricky, Burton always had the sweetest gutiar riffs but his playing was never overdone ~ Ricky's voice & presence always carried the show. We'll always miss Ricky.

Ok people, this might be a Ricky Nelson spot for his songs,BUT,I'm not gonna sit here and not comment on the real star power of Elvis.Elvis is not only still THE KING but always will be.His voice range is so dynamic, and his performances are top notch,he makes sure his fans get what they paid for. Kids growing up now are becoming Elvis Presley fans and he is just gorgeous as well. There are no one hit wonders for Elvis either, his songs are still well known today.💖💖💋💋 LEGEND LIVES,NEVER DIED,ITS UP TO YOU TO DECIDE.ELVIS NEVER LEFT THE BUILDING.THE IMAGE DIED ON 16.8.77 BUT THE MAN LIVES TODAY.HE TURNED 84 ON 8.1.2019. CELERBRATE!!!💖💖💖💖💋💋💋💋🔥🔥🔥🔥🌟🌟🌟🌟🌠🌠🌠🌠🌋🌋🌋🌋🎯🎯🎯🎯😍😍😍😍🤫🤫🤫🤫

To have grown up with Ricky, to follow his career and, later, to see him Rick perform live in 1985 ( a tragic, last year for him, his family, his fans and the music industry) was FANtastic. Listen to his CZcams music downloads or invest some money in his CDs, especially his Box Set.

    Lyrics:
    It's up to you
Because I've done everything I can
    I hope that you
Will say that I'm your loving man
    Make up your mind
And do what you're gonna do
Well you know how I feel
So I'm leaving it up to you
    It's all so clear
That I would give everything I own
    To have you near
    Never leave me all alone
    I need your love
    So, darling, please be fair
Let me know where I stand
And I hope that you say you care
Well I've laid my cards on the table
And its oh so plain to see
That I'm ready, willing and able
    To love you faithfully
    It's up to you
No, it's not for me to say
    You love me too
Oh, but I hope you feel that way
    Make up your mind
And do what you're gonna do
Well you know how I feel
So I'm leaving it up to you
    Make up your mind
And do what you're gonna do
Well you know how I feel
So I'm leaving it up to you
    It's up to you
    Darling, it's up to you
    Baby, it's up to you
    Darling, it's up to you
    Baby, it's up to you
    Darling. it's up to you
    Baby, it's up to you

There's something about his face when he sings. It's one of the best I've ever seen on an performing artist. I don't know if it was just the era or what but his lack of exaggeration with his expressions just mesmerizes me. It's as if the women in the audience could have stripped down to their bra and panties and this kid would have still just kept his cool. His unshakable cool.

Rick Nelson was my first love! I was just a little girl when the fam used to watch Ozzie and Harriet. Yes, looking back, teenaged angst was so totally different in the late 50's and early 60's. My older brother hit his teen years in the early 60's and for me it was the late 60's, early 70's. I never stopped loving Rick! When my brother was overseas in Germany in the Viet Nam era, he saw Rick in concert and got his autograph for me! I think my love for James Taylor came from Ricks music ..

U know, I really wish my Mom Candis Eaton was still around so I could thank her 4 making Ricky Nelson's music one of my fondest childhood memories, & EVERYTIME i hear a Ricky Nelson song it immediately puts a smile on my face & in my heart, it prob even puts a smile on my Mom's face too
(even though she's gone) I know she's up there driving 2 the Bowling Alley in her big ole Lincoln Continental blaring Ricky Nelson songs just smiling, & singing along, clapping her hand on her steering wheel & just "Bee-Bop Baby"(ing) it just like she did when I was little,
I'm 50 now & I can't hardly remember "💩", but i STILL remember the words & every strum of Ricky's 🎸 as if i was 10yrs old again & bee-bopping along w/my Mom & little sister to the bowling alley. Lol.
So 4 what it might, may, or could be worth......
