I'm a little over 900 miles on mine now, did the 600 oil change. The engine really got smooth and powerful around 700 miles. Love this bike!
I just bought the cafe green. Love it! Love the one have too. It was so hard to pick. So I went with the cafe. Enjoy bro and thanks for sharing your video. New sub
Got mine last week....loving it! Amazing bike and love the sound, riding position, smoothness and look!
Awesome! What color and year?
@@ws6man96 2018 black. Love the look. Got it for 800 under msrp otd. =)
@@mikedalley1001 awesome!! Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions.
@@ws6man96 - does the fuel gauge at the lowest point eventually start blinking to catch your attention to refill i wonder 💭❔
Also live in pa and have a Z900rs but got it in black, great videos!
Nick Brown thank you! Great to hear of another RS rider!
Kawasaki has started taking their demo bikes on tour again in the U.S. In 2020, they are going to have two separate tours going simultaneously. I just got to ride a few of their bikes including the Z900RS. Very nice bike, and with a quick shifter would really be sweet.
Your Z900RS sounds like my old 2007 Suzuki Bandit GSF1250. When the engine spools up, it sounds like a Nuclear Weapons System coming up on-line 👍
Thanks for the nice video and congratulations on an awesome bike! I bought mine this past Saturday and hope to pick it up on Wednesday or Thursday. Super excited! I'm 62 and well remember the Z1 when it came out; I was a kid in university and couldn't afford it. I wanted the root beer/orange SE model but couldn't locate one close to me here in Ontario, so I went with the black one.........love the look
CW CW sweet! Glad you were able to locate one. I got mine in January at first sight.
What octane fuel are you using? I've been switching between Petro Canada 94 octane and Shell 91 octane (no ethanol) Wondering if I should go with the ethanol free Shell 91?
@@cwqrpportable always do non ethanol if available. I usually run Kwik Fill 93 or a local gas supply near my area has 89 non ethanol gas.
Thx for the advice. That's the way I'm leaning
Great review!
Thanks for watching!
I had one 2018 z900rs just like yours (color). It is an amazing bike.A real pleasure motorcycle to see,to drive and to hear the great exhaust/engine sound. Will get another one 2021.
Had one but get another? What happened?
@@mexifry222 moved to another country. And got my second one already. It's a green color z900rs 2022 model. Gorgeous 😉
Great review.
Luke Stokes thank you!
Picking mine up on Monday!
Awesome! Let me know what you think.
That sounds supreme...
Grab bar is a must in my book plus it looks great imo.
I've gone back and forth wanting the grab bar that goes up over the rear fender and the grab handles for the center stand.
Just bought mine in November....got a good deal. Unfortunately in Michigan we already have snow so I will have to watch videos on CZcams and wait until riding season in April :(
Bummer! Congrats on getting one though. I got mine last January and only had clear enough roads to ride it home the day I got it until spring came. I feel your pain.haha
84 Nighhawk S....!!! Wow, please do a video on that bike. It was my second new motorcycle purchase back in the 80"s when I was just about 18....Me and that Nighthawk did many miles and I remember it as one of most fav bikes I've ever owned. I''d love to see a vid and hear your thoughts on it.
Btw...thanks for the review on this z900RS ;)
PaiN's RIdes I've been planning on featuring it in a video soon! I do have a walk around video I did of it on my channel from a few years ago.
ws6man96 ...I'll do a look back for it when I'm not at work
Wow what an empty roads and lot of space. Nice green cenery most be a pleasure to drive around there.
Oh ya, I forgot, I have Sena bicycle communicator helmets. Work great and make for a nice ride
Hey - nice video; wonder if you still have this bike. After driving on gravelled surface, do you see any dints and marks on the chrome pipes facing the front wheel? How often do you find yourself cleaning those front of pipes for road stains?
Willy? Just kidding. Nice review. Good mic sound. Sena is pretty good. Reminds me of my 73 900 Z1 Fun Bike!
Thanks for the comment! Still have your Z1?
Ha, I’m from PA, Chambersburg area, so I’m not making fun, but the way he said “Willie” instead of “wheelie”, I thought, he has to be from PA. Full disclosure, I say it the same way he does. :). Good review!
Thanks for a great review.
I have driven a lot of bikes, but never owned one. This looks like it's going to be the first bike I own as well. It's beautiful!
Just one question, what do you think is 0-100 kmt time?
Inge Magnus Sundbye thanks! I'm not sure but fast enough. If I'd have to guess it would be in the mid to low 3 second range range.
Nice review. Looking at the cafe racer version. Where are you located in PA? Looks nice.
Nice! They are getting hard to find. I'm near Pittsburgh.
Nice bike and review too. only one question : what do you think about the Yamaha xsr 900 ? Thanks for sharing and good continuation.
I've ridden the XSR900 and considered it before the Z900RS. It's a great however it lacks the overall character and feel of the Z900RS. The XSR900 can feel a bit to refined and rigid at times. The Z900RS feels more torquey as well.
@@ws6man96 So, you prefer the Kawazaki than Yamaha right?
@@T21-TwentyOneTrailers. yes, in my opinion and preferences.
@@ws6man96 thanks for ur replay.
I have a 2016 Kawasaki Z1000 with 90 miles that I'm taking down to the beach next weekend ! What made you choose a retro bike ?
Thomas Evers the majority of the modern bike designs were getting far to "bug" and "alien"/ transformer like. I guess you could say I just prefer the standard/classic "retro" look. Enjoy your trip on the Z1000!!
I really want to ride one. However, 65mph at 4k isn't low revving. I have a CB1100, 2014 model with 6 gears and it revs way lower. I would be happy to cruise at 75-80mph all day
What gear and rpm do ya hit to do a power wheelie? I'm on a 2019 Z900RS Cafe.
Great video. Picking up my leftover 18 z900rs today! And also do you still have the ws6? I have a 94 trans am, so great choice on vehicles!
Sweet, enjoy the bike! Yes, I still have my WS6. Plan to get some more videos of it up on the channel. Been immersed in motorcycles mostly.haha
@@ws6man96 awesome looking forward to it
@@ws6man96 picked up the bike this weekend and I am in love with it.
@@ermaln906 Awesome! Left over or a 2019?
@@ws6man96 leftover 18 model with 8 miles on it. Got a sweet deal. Where are you located in PA? I'm in Jersey near the Bridgewater area.
I just test drove one of these a few days ago. I think it will probably be my next bike. I had my heart set on the new street triple rs but the looks on this may be a bit hard to turn down
Rick Pires I agree, but I'm a little bias.hah
It's the best all around bike u can buy👱⚡
What is the best cruising speed without the wind becoming a problem
I just bought one after riding few hours
I became tired and feel fatigued and dizzy is this normal ?
I think i need a small wind shield or i am not used to it yet
Most naked or standard bikes above 45mph start to buffet wind significantly. I'd say anything around but not above 65 is where the limit is for me riding on the bypass.
I too own a 1984 Honda 700sc and are thinking about getting the Z900 RS. Are you feeling like the Honda has been replaced and you would let it go or there are still things that the Honda does that the Kawasaki Does not?
The Honda will never be replaced. It stands on it's own and has characteristics that no other bike possesses. I dont believe I'd ever leave it go since there is just something to appreciate about riding a retro street fighter.
I want one.
How long have you been riding bikes prior to purchasing the z900rs?
About 10 years.
Im getting the new bike itch 😩
Life is short, scratch it!
Do you still have it? I’m seeing a lot on the 2nd hand market now which tells me that perhaps people are getting bored with it? There’s one near me with 1000 miles for 7500.
I still have it. I have over 5k miles on it. I would say a Z900RS for sale used with only 1k miles indicates an impulse buy.
That’s a great price, given they’re $11,200 brand new!
Putting down some $$, on a Black one this week hopefully, I need a Bike to keep my 2017 Harley LowRider.S Company 👍
I hope you didn’t break in your bike with the constant Throttle in 6th Gear ??, Ride it like you stole it for a good beak in, Gotta Seat in those Rings ‼️‼️
I love the Low Rider S. I talked about it in one of my Harley demo videos I have up. I used lots of variance when breaking it in.
Let me start by saying the bike is gorgeous,no doubt about it, BUT... I went yesterday 09/12 to try the Z900rs in black color .... was in my wish list and had to give it a try so I did...didnt like the riding style of the bike, by that I mean from my point of view, bike is a bit jerky for a everyday city driving, handlebars have a not so easy to get use position, seat is not comfortable at all (and I ride a cbr1000) there is no doubt the bike has the power and torque for a spirit riding but is not definitely a commute bike, too harsh, too jerky, and the brakes u have to squeeze them hard all the time to stop the bike, so to wrap it up, I like the looks of the bike, but ridding just didn't make the cut for me
And a bit more about the bike...I have seen some videos where the bike shuts down while driving at normal speed, any comments on that? I test drive it a week ago 09/12, it shut down on its own while going around 45 mph, let go t clutch 3 times cause bike came on and shut down again, that is why had to repeat the clutch releasing more than once
Gas at low speeds is choppy as well
Mine also shut down on its own at around 40kph..a bit nervous now
Kidman Iman Are you talking about the 2018 model ? Hopefully they fix it in the 2019 model. I am thinking about buying this bike but this makes me nervous.
I bought the side grab handles for mine, a bit pricey
What do you think about the reliability of this bike ?
Kawasaki is the 4th most reliable motorcycle brand according to Consumer reports. www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2015/04/who-makes-the-most-reliable-motorcycle/index.htm
Its a Kawasaki
Have you taken it up to speed on wash board/rain groove roads? My old W650 Kawasaki was the SUPER WOBBLER on those types of roads/streets. Center Stand? Harbor Freight Motorcycle Lift and you don't have to carry the weight with you. Who changes tires or oil on the side of the road? Call up Insurance for a pick up at worst.
Because then you’d have to remove the whole exhaust system to lift it.
Kawasaki z900rs is a pocket rocket
How so?
Did you try the CB1100 EX from Honda? Can't decide between these two bikes, both are great. Thanks
I did not try the CB1100ex. It's a great bike but much more relaxed and down on overall performance and handling over the Z900RS. It's certainly a quality motorcycle and iconic but in my personal opinion the Z900RS exceeds it in every category.
i test drove the cb1100 ex, really really smooth easy bike to ride. love the style but it would be more for delivering pizzas or such, now the z900rs is made for fun and has its own character. I also tested the Triumph t120, bmw rninety, and the Honda. Love Honda but sometimes they are just to smooth for they're own good. i have a Honda Ctx1300 now for more touring purposes thats when smoothness compliments that purpose.
@@cesarr5006 thanks for your reply and help. Ride safely
@@ws6man96 thank for your answer and help. I also like the moto guzzi V9. Cheers ride safely
@@akula1055
You to brother, lol I started with a moto Guzzi v7 special in 2014. plenty of torque. Nice starter bike but i had to upgrade to something bigher and reliable. Had some oil leaks and plenty of times finding first gear. ride safe!!!
U may want to add sliders and
Heated grips on handle bars
Windshield and settlebags for me
Cause I like to travel👱⚡
Good bike but the wind is the problem...
Is this your first bike?
No
I love it! But it’s to much to start. What about the Z650rs?
How is there no one on the freeway. You must live in a small town is my guess.
Smaller town and time of day.
How is the throttle? I've read that with the retune from the z900 it got very twitchy in low gears. Have you noticed anything like that?
Like any new bike with ride by wire throttle and new emissions compliance it has its on/off feeling. I adjusted quickly to it within the first few rides.
If you keep the throttle cables adjusted so there's no slop, the acceleration is perfect.
The grip in your right hand, it's called a throttle.
It needs cruise control.
That would be sweet!
I was really enjoying that until you tried to wheelie 🤭
Wheeling aaaahaaaa haaaaa!!!!!.... REALLY!?!?!?!?🙈
Easy now!!haha Was still learning the bike.
How can you ride 1100 miles on a bike and not a single one of it at night? Wtf? o.0
Does the sun not set at your place? Or are you a poser? :P
It's pretty easy if you only ever ride in the daylight!
A poser then. :P
