Great job and you did the right thing for wrapping the p-trap with insulation as it will have condensation dripping in the attic. I had the Rheem unit installed in my home in NYC and it is done as horizontal left in the attic. It started leaking condensation on the secondary drain the cabinet was sweating badly. I had the installing contractor come have a look he suggested the primary pan is cracked and that is leaking water into the cabinet. I did not trust him and had the second opinion and he suggested that it is highly unlikely that you gave the pan cracked on the unit that is 1-2 years old unless he broke it and there could lot other issues related to static and duct sizing. Made the point got the job. But at the all is good and he said rheem are bad when you do horizontal installation you have to it tilt them more so that they drain the condensation. It resolved the issue and he suggested also wrapping the condensation p trap with insulation as he saw the condensation dripping from the p-trap.

Hi Mike D. Funny thing I saw in the New That's 90's reload of the old 70's show. The famous Basement. LOL There's a big ass Rheem water heater that's always in the shots. You came in to mind . and last nights show of you fixing family...that was hilarious.
You're getting the same heat in LI that we're getting in Connecticut! I did a bathroom vent fan yesterday. Usually attic access makes them easier to install, but not yesterday in the attic heat!

I do on repairs, because they're always leaking, rusting away the cabinet and wetting the insulation..... mmm mold, we all love mold and having to dehumidify what was juts extracted again.
It will leak eventually trust me
