    Since Honda isn't likely going to give us another Type-R Coupe at least give us another S2000. We need something to fill the 2dr divide. Not everyone wants a 4dr Family Sedan or SUV/Truck. There are literally like only 5-6 options entirely from the past decade that even fill that criteria, and most are expensive.

    • @RoadsUntraveled
      @RoadsUntraveled  Před 29 dny

      The options are only getting smaller :( Their answer sounds like it'll be the new Prelude...

    • @tommynobaka
      @tommynobaka Před 26 dny

      If rumors are anything to go by, the Prelude may fill that role.
      I agree a successor to the S2000 would be ideal, but if it were to come out exactly as it was (lightweight, high revving, barebones) I think it would be 1. Low Volume, 2. (relatively) expensive. Unless they just make a bigger S660 based off of the Type R chassis in a two door form with the same engine. However, it becomes something else, not the S2000.

    Sadly the FL5 is the last Type R. Honda already confirmed that. Her Type R is so dope and clean for its age. Sounded so good in the clip of her pulling away from the camera. You can't beat the N/A honda engines. They're just too good.

That car will be a classic. When I say modified, it’s been more divided but driving the car, feeling it pull me into the turns and VTEC (2.2L Brian Crower) oh man… the insane rush…. 90s kid here grow up with hondas and always wanted a type r, any of them really. ek9 and EP3 mostly.. The way the market is on cars from the 90s and early 2000 is just dumb especially here in australia and most of us would want to throw at least another 10k min on top of the what you got it for to tune, add and personalise a car to the way they want it. which if your lucky your looking around 30 to 35k total. Add another 5k and your in the market to buy a 2017 FK8 which is turbo charged and ready for the track ( that as a father of 2 is a mad plus ) The FK8 to me is what a 90s kid that is into the jdm life was looking for, yeah its not the most sleeper looking one from factory but if you didnt see the triple exhaust the normal person would think its just an RS( SI in the USA ) Type R > RS.. FL5 is nice and growing on me but if i had that model i would keep it stock and be happy with it but the fk8 makes me want to mod it. :D

    Very candid, diplomatic, calm, insightful and unbiased comments / remarks about old school "analogue" Honda JDM vs. new generations turbo-charged Honda Type R's.
    This truly reflects what that individual understands and appreciates Hondas and the spirits behind - and more impressively so from such a young lady who might be driving a Honda older than her. Truly inspiring!
    (I am sure Honda would continuing making this kind of "screaming" Hondas if they could, if not for the ever-tightening emission requirements)

  • @levi99
    @levi99 Před 18 dny +1

    I love how the fk8 and fl5 look but lean a bit towards more the style of the fk8. Similar to what they said in the video about a DC5 where people can mistake it for a base model RSX. I think the design of the fk8 clearly separates it from the base model while with the fl5, I can’t tell if it’s a fl5 or a base model on the streets without seeing type r badges.

      @RoadsUntraveled  Před 29 dny +3

      This wasn't so much a comparison of lap times as it was about the enthusiasts perception of both of these cars and in what scenarios they're more likely to drive them in. DC2, DC5, and FD2 Type-Rs are all very raw in sound and road feel compared to the FL5.
      FL5 is amazing for a modern car, but it's tough to escape the added weight and fake engine sound. Just as an example. Even still it's probably the greatest FWD car on sale today alongside the Type-S

      @@RoadsUntraveled No manufacturer can give us that raw feeling anymore. The M2 now weighs 3800lbs it's just the reality of the times. Honda has stayed true to the formula, FWD, light weight by modern standard's. They produced the best FWD available today. For a Civic to be capable of destroying genuine sports cars on track, be practical enough to load your gear and make it back home reliably is no small feat. @jonathanramirez878 LOL that's all you got. Did you not see it was cutting power. My cars not even tuned and will run low 12s high 11s all day.
