- Hello everyone and welcome to the forge! In this week's episode, I forge a clip point Bowie style knife from an old broken 12-inch crescent wrench. This project is a great way to take something that normally would be thrown out and make it into something to sell to help buy more tools for your shop! I appreciate you watching, and if you would hit that SUBSCRIBE button and ring the NOTIFICATION bell to be notified when my newest content posts.

It's been a joy to see a smith forging the blade rather than grinding it from rectangular stock like so many seem to be doing nowdays. Congratulations Master Smith.
Thanks! I appreciate you watching!
I honestly don't know why i enjoy watching these videos. I have no ambition to be a knife maker, but i buy one or two every time i see them on display. 😢😢😢😢 they are all over the house and car.
Knife cool
Same to same feeling 😊
I'm one of you.
I guess it's because we wish we could do it, but we can't.

I like that this guy forges things out instead of grinding
Sometimes I do stock removal but most often I would rather forge them to shape, I appreciate you watching!
Someone should hire this guy for post apocalyptic Armory Builds.
Thanks, I appreciate you watching!
Thank you good sir for giving this poor rusty old spanner a lovely new lease of life 😀👍
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it.

Cogratiolations, nice forging skills, like the old school philosophie. "The bette you forge, the less you have to grind". There were no machines for grinding in the old days
OMG that is beautiful! Awesome work! I need one!!!!
Thanks! I appreciate you checking it out.
This is awesome! Love that you left the wrench handle to be the knife handle too.
Thanks! I appreciate you watching!
Also nice how the direction is accurate

Привет из Эстонии! Хорошая задумка и красивый нож! Удачи вам
I am blacksmith two and its boring to see the people who make damast steel out of crazy materials. If someone has a super workshop everyone can do that. But you work with hammer and anvil and do that realy great. Perhapse the "posers" are seeing this vidoe and shop show easy things. Very very good. Keep on going.
Thanks! I appreciate you watching!
Good if I had an old wrench I would love to turn it into a homemade knife my self!
Man you got to feel powerful! To make something like that! Useful, functional, defensive, and offensive you should. 👍👍
Thanks! I appreciate you watching!
Very cool!
Thanks! I appreciate you watching!
Nice work. I really like seeing upcycles like this that leave enough of the original material to clearly show what it was made from. Crescent USA

That knife sir is a thing of beauty

I got very lucky then. I'm allowed to take up a corner of a company's (let's say company A) working shed (basically a maintenance hall for drilling equipment) for free, and another one (B) that often helps A with certain things like welding or more complicated maintenance that require better equipment. Anyhow, B sometimes also helps me a bit (advice, or welding some rods to steel) and I'm allowed to scavenge their trash containers with old iron. Found a big wrench (for nuts of about 5 cm wide) that had a broken eye, and I could have it. That's probably enough steel for ~3 decently sized kitchen knives. Not even mentioning the steel's high rust resistance.
That is awesome, I love working with scrap metal. It sounds like you hit the jackpot! I appreciate you watching.
This is incredible.

I find it amusing that I find the beating of a hammer on red-hot metal relaxing, almost as if there's some prehistoric primal part of me that enjoys it.

@@Mysticmountainforge do another one with I large wrench so it looks like a sword
Almost finished. If you used the correct heat treatment the blade will be hard and strong. Provided that was a good crescent to begin with. Some crescents are a bit soft and respond to being struck like a hard cheese. It never looked that way so far.
I appreciate you watching!
Great work 💪
