  • Hello everyone and welcome to the forge! In this week's episode, I forge a clip point Bowie style knife from an old broken 12-inch crescent wrench. This project is a great way to take something that normally would be thrown out and make it into something to sell to help buy more tools for your shop! I appreciate you watching, and if you would hit that SUBSCRIBE button and ring the NOTIFICATION bell to be notified when my newest content posts.

It's been a joy to see a smith forging the blade rather than grinding it from rectangular stock like so many seem to be doing nowdays. Congratulations Master Smith.

But you work with hammer and anvil and do that realy great. Perhapse the "posers" are seeing this vidoe and shop show easy things. Very very good. Keep on going.

I got very lucky then. I'm allowed to take up a corner of a company's (let's say company A) working shed (basically a maintenance hall for drilling equipment) for free, and another one (B) that often helps A with certain things like welding or more complicated maintenance that require better equipment. Anyhow, B sometimes also helps me a bit (advice, or welding some rods to steel) and I'm allowed to scavenge their trash containers with old iron. Found a big wrench (for nuts of about 5 cm wide) that had a broken eye, and I could have it. That's probably enough steel for ~3 decently sized kitchen knives. Not even mentioning the steel's high rust resistance.
