I'm glad you were able to vlog in Africa. It is truly wonderful to see. Also, if you need to drop the go-pro to get the image, do it, I'm sure that most of your subscribers, being mostly photographers themselves, understand completely. Glad to see your videos again. If you are still in Africa, enjoy.

Hard choice between heavy, big, sharp and creamy background or versatile, light, small and busy background. Nothings perfect!

I went to East Africa Dec 24 2001/Jan 24 2002. I had a 2.1 MP Kodak camera at that time. It wasn't really possible to crop in post. It had digital zoom, and you didn't have to worry about changing lenses, because you couldn't. :)
Some of these deer-like critters (deer, elk, moose, bison...) curl up their upper lip so some scent particles land on an extra scent gland - particularly if a female-in-heat is nearby.
You probably already know this, but the male giraffes are not just being friendly - they are sniffing the posterior of the female (her urine) to judge if she is in heat yet. If she was, they would be bashing their heads against each other to see who would be her 'boyfriend'.
Cheetah like to find a high spot so they can see longer distances. Leopards do of course. I have also seen lions climb acacia trees as well - big males maybe up 2 meters. They do have difficulty climbing down though.
I am jealous. I may have to go back soon.
