Weirdest Levels Ever # 9

- What is it about sliding down slopes in the Super Mario games that's so satisfying? All you do is hold down and move down a hill, but it's always a blast to do.
Well, not to be outdone by his rival, Wario has his own ability on slopes in the Wario Land games. If you ever dreamed about an entire level built around slope-sliding, then the second entry has you covered... in an underwater ruins!? - Hry
I feel bad for this level. it gave you the exit right at the start like "Y-you don't have to play me if you don't want..." Somebody please give this stage a hug
Its too big maybe it thinks your not good enough for it who knows?
The same thing happens with some kirby levels, but to me it just makes me feel even better to clear the level with all the hidden treasures/unlockables, don't know why tho
You know things get better when Git uploads Wario-related stuff!
I love his WarioLand content. I don't know why, i never played the games but i just like it
Wario Land has always had some weird ass levels, at least when compared to your typical platformer
The grass stains on those plumbers' overalls, MAMA MIA!!
On this episode of Whoisthisgit, we have worldbuilding!
Also rolling. Lots of rolling.
First thing I see is Mario shliding down.
This is gonna be good.
2:57 I'm sure some of other people feel the same. Mine, for example, is about time limits: when the time given is unnaturally huge, I prepare for the worst. Either I take too many unnecessary risks and damage just to find out that the time limit is actually pretty lenient, or I play a bit more carefully and it runs out. It's especially bad when you know the game is pretty tough: you have zero idea where you can't afford to waste time and where you're actually supposed to wait a bit.
If I remember correctly, in kirby squeak squad there was also a level where the end was at the start of the level.
But, of course, if you wanted to 100%, you still needed to search for the treasure chest and stuff.
Tiny Toons Adventures (GEN) and Land of Illusion (SMS) also had levels with exits in plain sight at the start. And with TAS goodness, you could actually reach the exit instantly as well xD
oh yeah, i was thinking of that level too! the kirby series also has it's fair share of sliding/rolling with stone and wheel kirby, i suppose
Wow, I didn't know that Wario had both the Morph Ball and the Spring Ball.
He also mastered the Ballspark.
Ballsy bastard
Keep rolling, rolling, rolling, rolling.
Im in love with the Wario lore speculations
In the words of Skawo, Wario’s roll is his Sonic impression.
Oh cool. I just came from his latest video
This reminds me of the fridge level in Wario Land 4, where you do end up rolling a lot, but unfortunately in an aggravating way with no control. Specifically, there are many points on the escape route where you just waste a lot of time if you get turned into the snowball.
I can't believe that you somehow made lore for this one stage
Seeing the featured level reminded me of Super Mario 3D Land's 7-1 where the goal could be reached right at the start if you had a tanooki leaf, meaning you could skip all the underwater sections.
the weirdest level is when the boss decides to give up midway
Edit: They see me rollin, they hatin'
As someone who's played a lot of WL3 as a kid, it's driving me nuts seeing WL2, which uses almost the same sprites, but didn't feature the former's slide animation for Wario yet x)
Funny thing is that Wario Land II also has a "Exit visible at the very start of the level but out of reach" level; level 4 of the Underground Cellar chapter.
I thought you were going to talk about Crescent Moon Village since that's the level of Wario Land 4 you use rolling the most lol.
THIS MAN DESERVES 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS, because you're content is absolutely awesome and I love it
I love when you talk about Wario Land. Those games definitely have a lot to talk about. Also, yeah, making that super long roll (the one with the blob) was a pain in the ass. And sorta fun.
Maybe that ancient civilization was a race of ball people or something, maybe they believed coral was sacred in some way, maybe this civilization didn’t know what to do with the building so they made it into what it is in-game
Wario breaking those blocks and collecting coins?
So satisfying
I watch all your videos, but this is one of the few times I actually played the game you featured, thanks so much for bringing back the nostalgia!
You know it's a good day when Git uploaded a new video. We also need more Wario content on this channel too, that's for sure.
There are very similar sections in Wario Land 3, one of them is even a "cylinder" in which Wario can keep on rolling forever. Seems like it could have been worth mentioning in the video.
feels good to be watching you again, git! i really liked your content since i was 10! keep up the good stuff!
I WANT MORE ANCIENT RUIN INTERPRETATION!
0:03 "Slide on the grass. Slide on the grass. Slide on the grass."
I was halfway expecting the Warped Void with that video title.
Still, I have to agree, these ruins are strange. Love the world building too.
I see Wario Land II, I click.
good old Warioland II...
0:08 I think that the reason why sliding and rolling is so much fun in video games is because you can experience a brief rush of speed, adrenaline and excitement without much skill or effort being required by the player.
So, it makes sense that well designed levels can be extremely fun and exhilarating to play if those things are done in moderation.
Sure do love me some beginning of the level exits.
I think the treasure's supposed to be Poseidon with his trident! The trident is the diagonal stick with the pointy bit on the top right. I can kinda make out his face/beard on top and robe on the bottom too
I had so much fun with Link's Gorons spike roll boost from majoras mask.
I was rolling all over crushing everything 😂
Rolling typically isn't much of an issue for video game characters. Sonic and Tails are the masters of it really xD
Yes another video for my favourite youtuber!
Welp. This ought to be good!
"For some unexplainable reason" man you can *sit* and you can *zoom* at the same time its the ultimate in convenience
He's on a roll!
Now imagine if your favorite games had levels/sections with easy ways to exit/finish them close to their starts.
I love your videos
Me: * sees Wario thumbnail *
Also me: yes.
Maybe the place was built by Gorons? Or people like me who insist on trying to use Metroid's Speed Booster to sequence break everywhere and know the value of a good slope to keep your charge going? I swear one day I caught myself trying to do that IRL.
Best Theory Ever.
Speaking of levels where the exit is right next to you but you have to complete the stage the long way around anyway, here's an example in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse in the second world, Yellow Desert or so I remember it being called.
And another example is the level in Kirby Mass Attack's Sandy Canyon where a giant sand turtle eats the exit door and you have to break through his rocky shell to be able to complete the stage. Simple enough if you just want to complete the game as fast as possible, but yikes is it a pain if you're going for a run where you get every medal!
it's sad that the level already give you the exit if you don't want to play it
nice video!
I remember a blue hedgehog can slide n roll
Slopes are the funnest thing in mario and you know it
Somewhere in the labyrinth!
The red colour of the treasure kinda makes it look like a phoenix. holding a trident in it's left wing.
I have a theory too!the amount of rolling and people getting crushed made the city sink
this needs to be featured in a LEAVE MY EARS ALONE episode please
Sonic can jog on.
Yup, rolling is fun xD
I’m always down for some Wario
nice
Wario number one
Whats the ending music
